    and if you read my original post, I said I thought it would be dialed down a bit. ahh, I have to laugh, 1) i don't like/play COD 2) i don't kill fresh spawns, i tend to mill about around NWAF or on the western side of the map.

I'm not crying about not getting their loot, i'm saying that why does EVERYTHING they have become ruined from a couple of gunshot wounds?     That's the whole point about care-bearing, I play as a bandit most of the time, and with the combat logging how it is, it makes more sense to shoot someone that try to capture them (even then they log off anyway). I want to play the game MY way, and that is how the game has been marketed, you make your own stories, but now I;m suddenly forced to try and trade when i'd rather eliminate the risk before hand. It also unjustly punishes people that kill others, hence why I call it care-bearing, god forbid we actually KILL people in a GAME, oh the humanity. I'm surprised they even added weapons into the game with how soft they have gone from the mod.

    I would of thought that would only be an issue if your firing fragmentation rounds, as most fragments of a round are likely to stay in the body, as they lose kinetic energy faster, as solid core round like the ones in the game, would simple pass through, albeit with a tumbling effect, like they are supposed to. But all this begs the question are we getting different types of ammunition eventually? meh, maybe i'm just over complicating it, its just a pain that's all.

    to those people on about cast lead projectiles not feeding properly and becoming deformed, there is an easy way around that and that's to put your own copper jacket on the round, but I don't know if its practical or to in depth for the game. What you do is you suspend the rounds in a copper sulphate + distilled water solution, then through electrophoresis, which is basically passing a current through the lot, negative on the round, positive in the solution (i think its that way round, could be wrong) the copper in the copper sulphate will coat the round after about 10 - 15 mins, it doesn't add to the diameter of the round, and if you pass it through a lubri-sizer and add a gas check, it will work just as well as a properly made round. Like I said, maybe to in depth for the game, but it is still possible to add in, in a dumped down way.

    Just a quick idea/thought i had. Why is it that, when the game is based in the old soviet block, why there is even an M4 in the game? surely the first automatic weapon they should have put in would be an AK variant? I understand that the Mosin is Russian, but as Rocket is pushing realism and immersion, I find it kind of immersion breaking, when you have Russian signs, Russian towns etc, but American weapons? The FNX45 should have been a TT-30 (Tokarov) The Magnum and .357 should have been the Nagant M1895 Maybe its due to being Alpha, but this smacks of pandering to Americans, that's all I can say as i haven't come across a weapons list of what they are planning to put in.

    Not at all, I'm just pointing out that 'IT'S AN ALPHA' isn't a good enough reason to justify things that aren't bugs and are pretty obvious if you sit down and think about it. I'm not doubting that they exist in other countries, Hell you can buy one in Britain, albeit a highly modified one that conforms to our wacko gun laws. Well, as we have been told jock shit of specifics of whats going to be in the game, a vague 'extra weapons' doesn't count, its hard to tell at this point. Like i've said about 5 times now, i understand why they put in a modular weapon into the game to test the attachment system, thats fine, but my point is, why a M4 in a Russian country when there are modular russian weapons that would be more common than an occupation forces weapon? hence why I said that they are pandering to the American players, rather than sticking to the authentic thing that Rocket has said he is aiming for.

    Yes, i understand that its alpha, but do you honestly think that the M4 is the only modular weapon in the world? the only one that has a rail interface system (RIS)? They could have quite easily put in the AK12 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AK-12) in place of the M4. It is fully modular that you can put anything you want onto. They could have easily tested it with that rather than an American weapon.

    Even with that authenticity would have the AK first, then the M4, after say the AKS, AKM, SKS etc. Still seems a bit stupid to me to have a SA game, but relating back to another game, I understand that Rocket aims to have a backstory in the game, as well as more info about the 'virus' or whatever, but still . . .

    But I that the standalone, was just that, STANDALONE, nothing to do with the arma franchise? most weapons have a rail interface system, you think that you can't put a flash light on an AK thats got a RIS on it? but thats what I'm talking about WHY the M4? yeah, I understand the randomness of the weapons being chosen, but considering Rocket harps on about realism and immersion all the time, then he goes and puts in an american weapon rather than a russian, which would be more common, even with an American occupation?

    the only SUSAT I came across in the mod was one that I manually added into the loot tables when I hosted a server for my clan, never found one otherwise, always HOLO or ACOG.

    There it is again, the .22 Ruger is an American weapon (if it is a ruger), where did you get your info by the way? I'd be interested to give it a read. Well said, this isn't the walking dead, there are plenty of walking dead games, go play them. Where do you find the lore and story? but like I said, even if it is law, its pandering to americans, why isn't the SA80 (British) in the game then? As Americans usually don't do stuff without us British as well, seems a bit one sided

    I think the problem that SA has is it so abstract, you eat 'some' food, and drink 'some' liquid, and you'll heal, I have literally, eaten 10 cans of beans and sat next to a well drinking from it, with my screen grey and fuzzy, for about an hour. Not once did I get the 'healthy' or 'healing'. The game needs more feedback, I shouldn't have to alt-tab to a website to find the food values for things.

    I'm in a clan, we want to run a server, a PRIVATE server that anyone can join that is not connected to the hive. As we are paying for it, and me specifically, I want to control, everything, and i mean everything. I want to edit the map, if it strikes me i want to be be able to put a line of barracks from elektro to berezino, not that I would but you get the point. I want to be able to add scripts onto it, I want to be able to set the time etc. Hell, i want to be able to determine whats in the loots tables for where, or spawn stuff in if I need it. I know this sounds like an entitlement rant, but its not, if I pay for a server, that's not connected to the hive, why can't i do whatever i want with it? As for servers that are connected to the hive, that's a privileged that should come come with responsibility as you would gain traffic coming through your server due to being connected to the hive. So you shouldn't be able to edit the map, run scripts or have admin tools, you should however be able to kick/ban people at will (this would have to be monitored, if abused you lose the right to do it) or set the restart cycle (minimum of 2 hours up time before restart) or have 1PP and 3PP only settings. just my 2 cents

Me and a few others in our clan took a player hostage today, we ended up wasting 3 handcuffs on him because every time we put a set on him, he would immediately start struggling out of them, we ended up having to kill him in the end. Could it be changed so you cannot struggle out the handcuffs if someone is within say 10m of you?

    wouldn't bother me, i'd just disconnect and go play another game, or join another server. Anyway it wouldn't be a hard thing to implement a timer into it, say if the afk player has not moved for 20 or 30 min, you can struggle out then. The way it is now is rather pointless and just leads to people being killed.

    Can we get a patch road map, of what they plan to add and when? I've heard so much stuff of what they are 'apparently' adding, some of it makes sense, some not so much, i'm not asking for time constraints or release dates, or even fixes, just a list of what will be in the next patch, the patch after that etc. If this isn't possible, how about a proper list of is going into the game, I know their is a confirmed list that Rocket put up, but its hazy at best, how about a list of weapons that they PLAN to put in? or equipment? or an update on the features of the game that they are planning to put in? it wouldn't take much doing, I just would like to see a bit of a plan coming together, rather than praying what I want to see being in the next patch.

  25. If you are looking for a group to play with, why not join TLAW? We are a clan that takes a mil-sim approach to DayZ, we are friendly and open, however we are blunt and a thick skin is needed. If this is likely to be a problem, please don't join. We try to play as Heroes, however we are not afraid to get stuck in when needed. We have about 20ish players currently, with about 9 of them actively playing DayZ SA, the others will be joining ASAP, we have people in British and American time zones, as well as one or two in the EU. We have our own TS, address below, we don't just play DayZ, we do play other games, however, being an active DayZ player is required. In an ideal world we would like mature players, but we will accept anyone that is 14+. We also run training once a week that is run on Arma 2, this is to practice team work and movement formations. The first training after you join is mandatory, after that then they are optional, however, you will not progress up the ranks without attending. If you do not have Arma 2, do not worry, you will be exempted from training, we can run through the drills quickly in DayZ. We are currently in the process of setting up our own SA server, which should be up and running as soon as possible.
