but throwable items, bows and arrows andimprovised weapons AREN'T in yet, so why turn them down?

maybe they spawn in in the same way that loot does? loot is currently broken in game, so thats why they aren't appearing

granted, i've never fired an M4, an SA80 yes, but not an M4, so blame it on lack of experience with the weapon system. yeah, I can see where your coming from, the high bolt speed and a feed ramp that i'm unfamiliar with could chew up an unplated round. but that doesn't make them of the idea unusable, you could manually feed them in like you said, would help if you didn't have a magazine, but you could also use them in bolt action rifles, or pistols (never tried that but i heard that it works). thanks for the info btw, its always good to learn more about your hobbies :)

I know the current system of damage that they have for weapons is good, but i think it could be take one step further by adding consequences of the state of the weapon. lets say you have an M4 its in bad condition, do you think that weapons would fire properly? it wouldn't. It would jam, double feed and a whole load of other malfunctions that could possibly happen. Right now the only punishing thing about having a weapon in bad condition is the fact that the accuracy is screwed, which is fair, but not the entire picture. Imagine being in a fire fight with the M4, and all of a sudden it has a stoppage, so you have to take the mag out (press 'r', so not through the inv screen) clear the weapon (pick a key for that) load it back up and carry on firing. It would add a whole new level of immersion.

exactly, nothing like a poke with a sharp stick to remind you about stuff, me personally would ranks a mechanic like this higher than painting your gun, but hey, what do I know?

and that would make doing it without finding a manual stupid, but it would add an extra layer of realism to it.

wrong, they do feed, granted they will lead the barrel and aren't as accurate as a FMJ round, but they will fire, I know this because I do it every other weekend. I have a AR15 that's been converted to straight pull so its UK legal, the rounds feed fine but they lead the barrel up something chronic, I use gas checks to stop it. You can plate the rounds using copper sulphate and electrophoresis, which is easy enough to do once you have the set up done proper and understand the science behind it, but I wouldn't expect them to go that far in a game

this is a common problem from what i've seen on here, i personally have had the same issues, non-searched buildings, straight after restart, no loot at all. -
hopefully they will function like they did on the mod, so the general public can still join them, but they are not connected to the public hive so you can't transfer a character from one to another. I hope that this gives us admins more control, so we can mess with things like loot tables etc. or even a full set of admin tools would be good.

fair point, I'd love to see the status of gun change dependent on if you have powder residue or to much oil or the number of other things that can go wrong with a firearm, hell, i'd like the internals of the receiver to have there own damage values, so one of the springs in the trigger mechanism snaps and the weapon becomes inoperable until you find a replacement from another weapon or a makeshift one, a pen spring for example (wouldn't work IRL, but oh well) I find it annoying that people say this game is 'realistic survival simulator' when its arcade-y as all hell, but without the feedback of an arcade game. Why not go the full whack and do it properly.

granted, but when you have M4's and boxes of 5.56 ammo laying around, a mold wouldn't be to much of a stretch of the mind. It can't be more complicated than the current feedback system for health, hunger and thirst. It would just be a bit of a learning curve.

yeah, I've watched his video's before, but it seems an extremely odd way of doing things, zero feedback and being vague as hell about how to do things. so your current blood level effects if you regain blood or not? that's got to be the stupidest thing I've heard of in gaming as a whole. like I said, no matter what i eat or drink, it doesn't appear. really? it matters what order you eat/drink in? that's a bit of a cock eyed way of going about things, isn't it? only 5000? thought they would have had a bit more than that I was eating/drinking till it was saying i was stuffed after every action, by the time i finished trying, i got so fed up i ate/drank until i threw up (I know this empties everything) but nothing.

*cough* carebear *cough* like everyone has said, its dayz, when i'm on my own, everyone I see gets fired upon, simply because they pose a threat, when I'm with my clan we take prisoners, get their gear and then, if they give us mouth, shoot then, if not, let them go. Yes its a zombie survival, but i'd let you know right now, i'd mow down everyone I saw to feed my children, its that simple. People play as they play, welcome to the suck. -
Being a new spawn player on a populated server is pointless right now.

I think the problem stems from the sheer concentration of the spawn points, I have literally spawn 10 times in the town east of Elektro (Kamishovo?) I hope that distributing the spawn points along the coast has a high priority as we cant test nothing if we are spawning into the same place all the time. -
I haven't found any either, I'm starting to think that it was supposed to be beret instead of berry, Dean did have hacksaw in twice on the changelog, maybe he messed up on that?

I don't know if this is pure care-bearing, or done on purpose, but why, for the love of god, when I shoot someone, EVERYTHING they had on them becomes ruined? I say this is care-bearing to stop people killing others, which is fair to a point, but seriously, ALL the gear? I don't know if they plan on dialing it in or not as I haven't heard anything said about it, but its stupid that if I sneak up on someone, blat a round into the SIDE of the their head, everything that they had in their clothes pockets, the clothes themselves and all the stuff in their pack becomes ruined. If they have hit detection so blood pours out where you shoot them, surely it would be easy to get it so if you shoot them in the chest the shirt and its contents become damaged, or if shot in the back through their pack, the contents of the pack becomes damaged. Also, why instantly ruined? makes no sense, worn, damaged or badly damaged for a few of the items, but ALL of them become ruined? I understand that its to stop people shooting others and force them to work together, but makes no sense. Can someone confirm this stupid result of care-bearing will get dialed down in the course of development, or are we stuck with it as is?
