**I'M NOT SURE IF THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN SUGGESTED OR NOT** Picture yourself in a apocalypse. You walk into a barn, and you find a perfectly polished Shotgun laying on the ground, right there for your taking. Okay, now picture yourself in a real apocalypse. Don't you think the shotgun would have rust on it? Or some sort of defect? Maybe if you find weapons in barns, they have slight rusted spots, maybe making reloading just a tad slower, or even broken iron sites, possibly even a chance for the gun to break after so many shots are fired? If you found an M16 at the barracks at, lets say NEAF, it would more than likely be in pristine condition, given that it was used by the military. But if you find an M16 in a tree stand, it's been outside, it's been affected by the weather, it's been sitting, collecting dust and grime. Chances are it won't be the same high quality standard. Maybe we could get some new textures? Such as CZ550 [RUST], obviously with a few rust spots, maybe even the bolt "jamming". The way it would work would be the rifle would no longer be selected, in which you could just press F again to reselect it. This would solve the "ghost" players that roam around and scavenge towns, treestands and if they're lucky enough, tents. These players (if they wanted to have a high quality weapon) would be forced to head to places like NWAF, Stary Sobor, and other highly dangerous areas for a higher reward of loot. Also, maybe the same thing with vehicles? If you find a truck on a farm, generally it's going to have some wear and tear, more so than that same truck being found at a military base. Just an idea.

Yes, but as I said, it's a work in progress. Achievements could all be general like the Triathlete one. E,g 100 km driven, 50 cans of beans consumed, spent a total of 7 days (real life time) played, etc

I'm not sure if I'm the only person who's suggested this, but I think it's a great idea, and so do players who i've swung it by with in game, so I figured i'd post it here and get the entire community's point of view. ACHIEVEMENT ITEMS ARE NOT TRADE-ABLE AND ARE REMOVED FROM THE CORPSE UPON DEATH. ACHIEVEMENTS The achievement system would be viewed from the main menu under "Player Profile". Achievements wouldn't have any type of extreme award, maybe provide your character with extra loot that IS NOT MAJOR. Perhaps a new default (Optionally applied, of course.) face paint, starting shirt/pants/hat/shoes etc. Achievements that would give new things like this would be known as "Legendary" achievements. Achievements would be grouped into categories. Example: Murderer: Kill five survivors. First blood: Kill a survivor. Exterminator: Kill a total of 10,000 infected. Survivalist **LEGENDARY**: Survive a total of 24 hours played on a single character. Reward: "Survivor" Baseball cap I shot the Sherrif : Kill a hero. Quickest Hands in the West: Kill a total of 100 players using handguns Highway to Hell: Reach a speed of over 80km/hr before running over a player Bandit-Be-Gone: Kill A Bandit Juranamo!: Fall over 100 feet to your death. Savior: Successfully apply a Bandage, Epi-pen, Morphine and Blood bag to survivors. Triathlete **LEGENDARY** : Run, Swim, and Cycle over 1000km (Not 1000x3, all three contribute to the total of 1000km) Reward: "Earth Gordon's running shoes" Down but not out: Kill a survivor while your legs are broken. I think you guys get the picture. Obviously the achievements would be more thought out, and implemented after all other "more important" matters were dealt with, but it's just a suggestion. Thanks for the read!

Go down to the bottom right hand corner of your windows 7 machine (im assuming you have W7) Selec the little arrow, then select NVDIA Settings go to the global tab, and click on the little arrow and change it from INTEL to NVDIA for your settings. Did it last night and I notice World of Tanks went from 40fps-105fps on Mininmum, so now I can play inbetween high and ultra and still get 40-60fps

Exactly the answer I was looking for. Thanks.

Okay, so I was thinking about buying Arma 2 and OA to install DayZ. But, I hear that on Windows 7, Arma 2 tends to lag alot I have an alienware m14xr2 with the following specs: Intel Core i5 3210CPU 2.5ghz 8GB of Ram 64 bit windows 7 2gigs of graphics Now my question is, will my PC have CONSTANT 60+FPS on Medium or High graphics (WHILE npcs and other players are around me) OR am I better off just getting free arma 2 for the lower textures and just buy OA? Thanks :) EDIT: Also is it worth it getting the better textures?
