Is there any hope this game will be optimized for 8 core processors or should i just give up on it? i bought the standalone when it was first released as a gesture of appreciation because i was addicted to the mod, but times goes by and there is no improvement despite the development beginning in 2012 and the Alpha being released in December 2013 so almost 6 months and it's still the same shit. I really think that by the time they release the beta and the full version this game will be dead, i have never seen a game take so long in development and see no improvement. Don't get me wrong i love this game but i am really annoyed and disappointed with the progress they are making.

Some people just don't get what you're talking about, i can look to the ground and get 150 FPS and come here saying i get 150 FPS and i aint gonna be lying. We are talking about consistently getting 60 FPS in let's say a 30 min gaming session on a populated servers and in both forest and cities.

How come a lot of people have working M4/Mosin's?
Ducard replied to andrestor's topic in General Discussion
Server hopping. -
They will never remove 3rd person, a lot of people love it and buy the game for that. The max that will happen is to allow custom servers to disable it like the mod.

Is it worth buying Dayz standalone yet? [With Developer responses]
Ducard replied to Blade4777980's topic in General Discussion
If you love Dayz If you want to help devs and contribute to the development of this game BUY IT. If you cant play with all the bugs and performance issues If you won't be arsed to report the bugs and issues that come your way(which is completely understandable) If you don't want a half complete game. STAY AWAY FROM IT. Simple as that! -
We can customize the look of our characters, skins will remove that so NO THANKS. Enough of the bandit\hero bullshit the whole point of the game is that you judge by yourself whether to trust people or not and the whole hero\bandit skin ideas will kill that.

Yes some high end intel rigs will get 50-60+ all the time, it has nothing to do with settings though and this aren't consoles so every setup will give different outcome.

Should it be easier to keep fed/hydrated?
Ducard replied to Clumzy (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
No. -
So that it can be usable with a weapon or at least make it usable in the offhand while using a hand gun.
-
Not a bad idea but i think it should be like DayZ origins where you start dancing when you log off, and if you log off in the red area you get randomly spawned back at the coast just like what happens when you log off at sector b.

- Start joining servers with 30 players +. - Don't afk in dayz! - Stop server hopping because it's gay. - Stop complaining about a half complete game Thank you!
-
I think it's good, keep it that way.
-
My bad didn't actually notice it said .357 magnum and not just revolver, you're right.
-
I can't criticize the current loot system for the weapons and call it unrealistic because let's be honest if you live in a city where everyone is dead for sure a military camp or a police station will have automatic rifles and pistols, but in my honest opinion those should be toned down i run into an M4 every time i go to an airport\military camp not to mention the amount of hand pistols you see in firestations and other buildings. if i can get an automatic rifle 10-15 mins after i die then i wont fear camping spawn areas or death matching with them because i don't care if i lose them. I would love to see less of those weapons and more of the common weapons that people would usually keep at home (pump actions, hunting rifles, pistols), you also should be able to handle weapons better the longer you survive and use them because i am sure regular people aren't all weapon experts that can fire automatic rifles as good as it is in the game atm(fuck you could even fire .50 cals in the mod which could easily dislocate your arm if used incorrectly). Some of my suggestions may sound stupid to you but i personally find it game ruining when the main purpose of the game become running to airfields getting a rifle and deathmatching with other players rather than surviving the apocalypse but that at the end of the day is just my opinion.
-
Spot on. And i am not even gonna bother to reply on the 7 years old girl comment.
-
True true true but they will probably be replaced by other semi\auto rifles my point was to make those actually rare and replace them with regular weapons that people could keep at home in real life. Think of it that way, imagine an apocalypse happening where you live and think of the chances you're gonna get such a good weapon then think at how difficult it will be for you to fire them let alone running in your town firefighting with people and shooting at ridiculously long distances.
-
The .45 rounds are revolver\m1911 ammo.
-
They should tone those down as well, i am sure if an apocalypse happen where i live i won't run into a hand pistol every 15 mins.
-
The weapon has been implemented according to rocket's post in the news & announcement section, but why do you expect to find them left right and center? i reckon they are rare which would make sense.
-
It's called Alpha, it comes before beta so it's a half complete game. Perhaps they should make a bigger warning in steam under the purchase tab so people realize that this is not the full game.
-
This should be a server setting, veteran\hardcore servers should still be working without those.
-
The Enfield and the Mosin were both used as sniper rifles in world war ii, they are extremely powerful and they both use the same 7mm caliber that is being used in a lot of modern snipers now. However i think that few problems need to be addressed in the game before adding sniper rifles else it might ruin the current state of the game.

Am i the only one with no performance issues?
Ducard replied to DMstratz's topic in General Discussion
Frankieonpcin1080 posted a video about the standalone yesterday, he have a beast computer as you know and he mentioned that he get 10-15 FPS in cities with high settings. I have a decent rig but it's AMD powered which isn't arma\dayz friendly and i drop to 15-25 in cities and get 35+ in other areas. -
People insist to make suggestions that turn this game into some arcady gay mmo, this is a hardcore zombie apocalypse survival game based on a hardcore military simulator called arma yes things must be complicated and that's the challenge of the game. I don't get the whole no endgame part thing, what do you want them to do? make us fight zombie bosses? raid some shit place like salvation city in origins? and ofc there is a lasting goal which is SURVIVAL, if like you said you kept getting killed losing your gear and doing everything all over again then you're failing at this goal. Factions with red and blue vests? really? what's next capture the flag and deathmatch events? My recommandations for the devs of this game is to make it even more complicated, the game loses it tastes because people like the guy who started this thread run up to the airport get an m4 with a couple of clips thinking they are fully geared and got nothing else to do, tone down the weapons make them rare and introduce more hand made and basic weapons that can be collected\crafted with the most basic material an average person can find. if weapons and ammunition are hard to obtain people will think twice before running around death matching knowing that they will lose what they've been collecting for hours. I agree 100% with what you said about zombies, if zombies become a real threat people will look to work together to survive them rather than just doing things like camping spawn areas etc...

When i first got the standalone and started playing at the first couple of hours i was amazed, i had a thought that finally you don't run into a gun full of ammo every 2 mins now we finally get a break from the constant death matching in the spawn area i even ran up to balotta airfield and couldn't find a single gun. Later i went north and found an M4 with no ammo and while checking the 2nd barracks i got shot down by a guy with an M4 camping the last room, re spawned still excited and very pleased with the game and i got shot at balotta by another guy with an M4. Today i've been playing all day and i got shot at least 4-5 times by people with M4, that's not my issue i am not complaining about deathmatching but i played roughly 19 hours and i've only had a rifle with ammo once and it wasn't even a magazine it was just some bullets that i had to chamber in the rifle one at a time. later when i was chatting with a friend who also plays the game he mentioned that he goes to the airport and keep switching to empty servers that way he gets plenty of gear in short time so now i understand how everyone in high value military zones get all the funky gear with plenty of ammo to waste on poor fellas like me. Now i remember this happening in the mod but private servers solved that, is there any hope that this can be addressed in the standalone?
