definitely need non or less than lethal. i love the idea of SA handcuffs and robbing people, fun fun. try arma 3 altis life and arma 3 breaking point (which is now open for testing hint hint) very very well done mods id love to see some in arma 2 dayz, 1.8 is such a good update, hopefully next big patch we can see soemthing. there is still a certain feel about arma 2 dayz that i just cant get from arma 3 mods. hopefully SA will keep that alive.

lets not forget dayzero...cherno. (most dont like podagorsk) that mod is so well done its such a pleasure to play. simple, nothing crazy added, loot spawning in realistic places, way way more enterable places, etc. not to mention the 100 fps most med-high rigs get.

you nailed it... I havent played vanilla in a long long time...so long I assumed my character is whiped. so i log in to try out 1.8...what do I have? dmr 6 mags, makarov, AB, PK, MO, BB, fully kitted.. so I smiled and logged out LOL. going to give him a run this weekend though, but i really dont want someone else having my spoils of war.

if you simply follow one of probably 5000 guides on google about dayz arma 2 install...you would probably have figured it out in a few minutes. it really is not that confusing research first, if that fails, then ask.

dude DayZero is said to be the best in terms of performance...and has 2 maps Cherno (amazingly done) and Podagorsk (some say boring) ive switched to dayzero cherno these days, im used to 60 fps, on Dayzero im closer to 100 fps...they really really really optimised the game right. most youtubers say its the most professionally done mod. huge servers too 60 person on average 24/7 list your specs i was 2.8ghz i7 930, 30-45 fps....$50 water cooler and overclock to 4.2 ghz...now 40-60+ fps and 100fps on dayzero. arma 3 is hit and miss, mostly server related problems...like wasteland. but super high fps on other servers and SP is unreal..

dayz SP = DAIZY....google it. some amazing mods out there with lots of AI bandits. ovaron did look fun! missed the boat. im sad Taviana is dropping fast too! i cant stank origins anymore, but original taviana and rapedungeon servers are dwindling :(

good stuff Cr1pper if you need any help with that feel free to PM. the antec khuler 620 is older now, so maybe not best idea but its super cheap like $50 nowadays and does the trick very well. so id say check out the other options for all in 1 water systems or go big and get a proper water block setup (but thats pretty hard to setup and case must be large!) obviously the cooler must be compatable with ur cpu, so double check that... your right, OCing was a fun and informative experience for me...all in all took 3-5 days with proper overnight testing...results were 100x what i expected

as for the overclocking, simply get yourself a cheap antec khuler 620...then you simply google your CPU/motherboard and overclock 4.2ghz. you will find a guide on how to do it, or a youtube video. then you run prime95 for 24 hours to ensure stability and your done. easy as piss ex http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=714048 dooooo it man! provided you have a simple water cooler, or beastly adjustable air cooler, or true watercooling system also you must use RealTemps to monitor your temperatures under load and be sure they are not exeedingly high. then after that its go time!

jesus god man, you should be getting more. i was i7 930 2.8ghz, 6gb ram, gtx 570 hitting 30-50fps overclocked to 4.2 ghz and now im hitting crazy good fps. 60+ and 100+ on DayZero mod 40-60 on arma 3 servers you need to optimize your game a bit more, follow guides. i found the best results were from the CPUcount, exthreds and other launch options. next think about overclocking, im no expert but bringing 3.6ghz to 4.2 or more should be hard. Depending on your cpu. water cooling is cheap and easy these days

for those of you with an i7 920,930,950 I went from 2.8 ghz to 4.2 ghz with minimal work. I have an antec 620 khuler, nothing fancy but it works well enough. over clocked to 4.2 ghz and im still sitting pretty in terms of temps HOWEVER, im now hitting 80-90 fps and 60 fps solid in laggy areas. what a difference! even arma 3 mods with high server pop are all well above 35 fps

havent tried zoombies, but Dead Nation is pretty serious business. altas is a crazy map. breaking point a 3 is truly amazing, you wait till it drops. mark me words!

ahhh the modified doorstop...that is brilliant. i was using my upsidedown tv remote on the xbox 360 controller since day 1. beans! i also blame dubstep! but I too have little patience these days for vanilla dayz... try some mods OP, there are some amazing ones out there! DayZero podagorsk has really taken me and many for a surprise. bringing back that vanilla dayz feeling. Not alot of loot, but plenty of new things to do and interesting player interaction. Not to mention an amazing map also try arma 3, the mods are really rolling in now. bringing a great new dayzish experience. the graphics alone are enough to peak my interest!

haha, try playing the epoch mod. they have "safe zones" so little did I know the only difference is that there is an anti pvp script and inside an area the weapons are set to damage=0 i thought it meant you were totally safe... so im in the trader zone gearing up and such, and 5 guys come running in trying to scare me into giving them all my stuff. so i know they cant, etc, tell them to fuck off... minding my own business, one guy sneaks up "near" me and steals all my crap from my backpack, they hop in to a car, steal my car and leave... what am i left to do? essentially shoot blanks from my m24 in to their fleeing car... had to be there! i was soooooo pissed

dude get arma 3 and download zoombies, then show them or even better google: arma 3 breaking point mod show them the video even better still! - goto frozenlime's twitter, find the Teamspeak server, goto it, be patient and wait around and be nice to admins.. -they let you whitelist and play breaking point a3 early - this mod will crush dayz SA. - it is almost complete too, almost ready for public release I hear this will surely convince them, i showed a buddy me playing BP for a3, he couldnt believe how polished and well done it is. all it is lacking is players atm..just 5-10 testers on servers if your lucky.

i7 - 2.8 ghz 6 gb ram 7200rpm drive gtx 570 evga good fps 35-50. series 5 samsung lcd 120hz 3d tv (res 1080p/60hz) desktop res - 1920x1080x60hz Not a problem in any other game or watching movies or anything fast. So probably not the TV. Dayz looks great and plays great, just when im running around the screen "flickers" or "paints" a horizontal faint faint wave like line across the screen. It is not even that bad and I play with it no prob. I think it has been happening since day one but I just started paying attention to it recently. Slightly anoying. Anyone have any ideas? geforce drivers were updated last month or so, some time around crysis 3. they may be the beta..so ill try getting new drivers stable release. but still, what causes this? nvidia settings are default, havent changed. thank you

just a bump and a solution for anyone playing on a big screen TV. Its game mode...game mode... the TV is conflicting with the crazy FPS/refresh rate and attempting to use some image smoothing algorithm to even out the frames, etc... mine is called motion plus or some crap. once i switched to game mode, it removed the horizontal line issue. Smooth sailing, 80-90 fps in dayz arma 2 30-60 fps solid on arma 3, depending on server pop

you may want to google dayz optimum gfx settings and follow that. YOU must have all your driver up to date for sure. look at my post above and see my FPS based on intel systems, including a shit system and a laptop. you should be getting similar results as me, so say 40 fps cities and 60 fps in forests. about as much as can be expected from DAYZ. its a hog. your gfx card is more than enough for the game, make sure you optimize your settings. SUCH AS VIDEO MEMORY - DEFAULT (uses max avail vid card memory) (most would want to select high or very high, but thats wrong) also editing the CFG file as per GOOGLE SEARCH will help. you can easily find 10-15 fps by optimizing without sacrificing graphics. I turn off shadows and ATOC to help a bit with the fps and also allows me bad eyes to see a bit further/better.

LOL i run dayz on 3 computers so here is the info: gaming rig i7 2.8ghz or so (no idea what one) 6gb ram, trip chan crucial ssd gtx 570 -- Pretty high settings, 1920x1280 and 20% or so on the 3d. everything on high/veryhigh, no shadows, no atoc (by choice) fps is very good. (did edit the CFG files and spent literally hours tweaking though)(50-60 and 20-30 in cities) -- Asus g73 SW laptop i7 gtx 460m SSD mushin or something 1440x900, 20% 3d, high settings, no shadow or atoc good fps - 40-50 and 20-30 ish no complaints now where it gets hillarious! a shitty IBM lenovo pc, bought for $80 i5 2.4 ghz $60 used HIS radeon 7750 or something, low profile, decently crap card (barely fits in the computer hah) 2 gb ram (unknown shit ram) 1280x1024, same on the 3d settings, no shadows, no atoc, low-medium settings tweaked to shit 30 fps peak and 15-20 in the cities $140 dayz computer! so there is a mediocre gaming pc, a great laptop (dated, but well built and priced) and a factorydirect shit refurb computer hope that helps

have you tried using dayz commander??? there are tons of high pop, medium and low pop hive servers... hacking is more prevelant on hive servers i think, but its not as bad as it used to be...no gangnam or anything ridic...just script kiddies with dmr's. no as 50 s anymore and cant even be hacked in, so all is good in dayz land

why not split the diffy and be able to move but not shoot or anything while switching...this way the animation sticks and the inability to do anything except walk or move around. But if given only those 2 choices, I vote for quick swap. In real life, you can run while switching primaries or reloading, etc...not in arma land haha.
