Definitive launch parameters, devs please confirm
deebz1234 replied to deebz1234's topic in Troubleshooting
good guide, but hardly answered my questions lol 6 month old info, i know for a fact arma3 has since done away with 95% of the launch parameters. SA devs could have easily done the same. leaving us with placebo at best.. its nice to know exactly what we are dealing with. on another note, i went further on the OC and gained an insane 20fps in arma3. 4.3 ghz = 50fps, 4.6 = 71fps...insanity. hopefully helps MP and SA a bit more. -
Definitive launch parameters, devs please confirm
deebz1234 replied to deebz1234's topic in Troubleshooting
yea i suppose, its easier to not publish that way people unfamiliar with the consequences/etc dont fuck their setup even more. that being said its alpha and we are "testers" so we should have all the tools necc to test. -

again, hearsay...lol i agree with -high, but i see it on every arma3 guide. supposedly -enableHT (hyperthread usage) works on arma 3 and overrides cpucount=, actually this is from the BI website...so prob legit. however BI forums say cpucount and everything else doesnt work anymore. except enableHT. but enableHT isnt in dayz apparently. so only the devs can tell us what exists and doesnt. why they havent shared this before is bizarre. -
gr8, i just hope something is done because 30 fps in cities on a 6 or 8 core haswell-e is not acceptable... i mean it looks pretty good and i literally hit 90fps outside of cities but it still dips so fucking low... and not all my cores are being utilized

im with you there, but i want eist enabled in bios because it tones things down when im not gaming. power mode did the trick, i created 2 shortcuts on the desktop. 1 relax, 2 hyper-d

Wow, am i ever surprised. x58 i7 930 (4.2 ghz) - gtx 570 - 6gb ram @ 1500oc - 40-60 fps and med-hi quality x58 i7 930 (4.2 gxz) - gtx 970 - 6gb ram @ 1500oc - 60+ fps and everything on max x99 i7 5820k (4.3 ghz) - gtx 970 - 8gb ddr4 @2400stock - 23 fps...enough said haha! Any suggestions? every other game has benefited immensly from the new architecture/cpu. never had any launch options before, only adjusted in the settings, etc. tried all the usual jazz/lowered settings/optimizations/etc. no dice, just low fps. insane eh?

turn power settings to high power in windows! just gained 15 fps from that. so stupid! the cpu jumps back and forth from 3.3ghz to 4.3 ghz, even if the majority is 4.3ghz, switched power modes and got arma 3 to a stead 70 fps!
-
motherfucker, just got arma 3 to 70 fps by simply using high power mode in windows. i was stuck on balanced and it kept throttling the cpu to 3.3 ghz here and there, but it was just enough to rob me of like 10-15 fps on the switching. wow im amazed now
-
just leave it alone, even 1.26 vcore is pretty high for our chip. id say urs is to the right of average. a good chip will do 4.5ghz with 1.2 0.06 is actually a lot of vcore increase. but if you set the launch options same as I did you will be fine. just watch that MALLOC64 setting, it has to match the file in dayz/dll
-
wow dude 1.35 is really high and unnecc. im only at 4.3ghz ...you dont need 4.8ghz. average for our chip is 1.2 for 4.2ghz. i got lucky and am 1.13 for 4.3 ghz which is unreal. 1.35vcore is dangerously high on our processors. its just not work the extra stress/heat, you have 4.5ghz, that is more than enough! if im pullin 100 fps on dayz with just optimization, your rig is better in all areas and you just need to give it a little love and you will beat my fps. actually you just need to stabilize your in city fps to above 35 and ull be fine. most people arent getting better than 30-35 in worst situations. which is what you should expect, even with a 5820k

http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/218539-performance-issues/#entry2197074 youll get 100 fps in dayz with ur rig, you need to config the shit out of it. malloc and cpucount to 12, or 16 in an 8/16core rig will help immensely. also make sure you cpu isnt stepping down, mine was being lazy and dropping to a measily 3.3 ghz and i had to set it up to be 4.3ghz at all times in games like dayz and arma 3 and also the core options enableht and cpucount would help that as well. some settings on ultra helped the cpu work at its max, giving me better fps than the same settings on low-med. it was a serious days work of config...

tldr make sure you spend 8 hours configuring dayz and arma 3 for 6core use http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/218539-performance-issues/#entry2197074

OK folks, as usually i have figured it out through extensive testing. I now get 55 fps on arma 3 (which im still dissapointed with) but usage on all 6 (12) cores. DayZ is now seeing 100 fps in the forest and 40-60 in cities! with balls to the wall settings. first and foremost there is no point of sacrificing quality when we have epeens. :) That being said there are certain things that are useless in dayz and arma3 gfx settings. IE the blurry effect of AO was not to my taste, also SMAA is plenty and blooms and blurs are 0. Another note, certain settings move workload from cpu to gpu so you have to play with certain things. For me have certain texture and object details too low would take the work from my cpu, which i didnt want. i noticed my cpu stepping down to 3300mhz in some cases, but some settings made it stick on 4300mhz which is what i prefer having 6/12 core OC'd. i also prefer over rendering 120% or higher and not using AA, experimenting with these ideas changed my fps in both directions. found high render, less AA looked far beter @1080p for me. launch params were most helpful. all i changed in cfg was Maxframesahead - 4 (i think 4 is better than 1, as it pre renders a few extra frames thus smoothing out the play, low end systems would use 1 i think) max frames detected - 0 Launch Parameters DAYZ -cpuCount=12 -exThreads=7 -noPause -maxMem=8192 -maxVRAM=4096 -malloc=tbb64malloc_bi ARMA3 -enableHT -exThreads=7 -noPause -maxMem=8192 -maxVRAM=4096 -skip intro -window -nologs -malloc=tbb64malloc_bi Dayz doesnt use enableHT, so setting the CPUcount to 12 gave me 35+ fps. Malloc, not sure if it even works but it sets the memory allocation to that of 64bit. it refers to a file in dayz/dll so make sure filenames match. I edited my filename so it match arma3 setting. less confusion for me. maxVram shouldnt matter much, the guides say there is no guarantee anything over 2gig works, but i didnt see a diff so i left it. Arma 3 benefits from enableHT, but you can not use cpucount at same time as it overides enableHT. So enableHT is great for any platform as it maxes out our hyper threading capabilities. this gave me 15 fps off the hop.

dude bra amd 6 core have been complaining for years about SA performance....its simply un optimized alpha. it doesnt even begin to work on all 4 cores of a typical i7, let a lone our 6+ core brand new cpu's. it sucks, ya...and i got better more consisten fps on my 4 core i7 930 ya...but the dev's wont respond to any of our threads....so im sure time and updates will fix this. there is crazy stuff coming q1 2015 related to engine and renderer right? so chances are these updates will improve how SA deals with newer platforms, etc. but ya it blows having 4.5 ghz 6 core intel and getting lower fps in cities or the same as old 4 cores rigs. but who buys a $400 processor $200 ram and $300 motherboard for DayZ alone? stupid people...
-
wow, between this forum and overclockers ive found a ton of SA players with the 3 x99 cpu's that have issues. compared to a dedicated 4core system... dev's want to chime in?
-
im a seasoned vet, specially when it comes to helping with fps issues. my recent upgrade to the x99 architecture has seen drastic fps drops. all across the board. with no fix or even reason in sight. this is most certainly something that is not "easily" fixable. the only thing i have yet to try is shutting down cores...but that aint gonna happen. dude its 100% to do with the new processors and SA. my x58 rig works perfectly with the same ssd swapped in for testing. its night and day how shit SA plays on our fancy new cpu's. nothing to do with GPU, and op you have a big e-peen lol. what is your clock speed on the x99 rig? what kills me is you have issues with your 3930k...i mean that cpu should ruin dayz, its simple and its 4/8 core. the only diff between my x58 and x99 is the mobo/ram/cpu. which are all new and should but ol betsy (i7 930) to shame
-
i know i came from x58 killing the fps... no one has a new rig?? 5820k 5930k 5960x?? im blown away. this rig rips apart every other game i have. specially arma 3, i know its not the same but similar.

Banning for inappropriate behaviour...
deebz1234 replied to Karmaterror's topic in General Discussion
the day our actions (aside from hacking type shit) are monitored and policed is the day DayZ dies. one of the big allures to this game is the freedom to do whatever the fuck you want, be it slurs or psychotic trolling its a fucking game. Op some of your responses actually made me cringe...its a game... -
CCG is the best and there isnt much else around like it. have you played arma 3 overpoch chernarus and battle royal wake island? very very entertaining.

So i finally installed my 970. whole new game! was playing gtx 570 i7 4.2 ghz on about med-high to achieve 35-60 fps. now its like 35 fps - 80 fps on everything max and the filters and such actually work well, with the 570 i had troubles with blurryness and such. now they are actually doing what they are supposed to. the game looks insanely good. well above my expectations. Still the same frame drop to about 30-35 fps when approaching / inside of cities. but hell 30 fps aint bad on a packed server

Cannot Launch DayZ SA Because of BattlEye EULA
deebz1234 replied to smeewth's topic in Troubleshooting
verify cache worked for me instantly. -
i wouldnt buy any video card for dayz... i run it on a gtx 570 at 25-60fps. just watched psisyndicate with his new 980 not getting any better than that on high pop in a city... but i bought the 970 just for far cry, have had it for days and havent even played yet! fuck i hate moving. if you get a mid level card for now $100 used, or so. then wait for SA to get more advanced in 2015 and buy some crazy ass gtx 1000 card or whatevs
-
i have yet to ever touch my antec 620. (all in one cooler, it installs like a fan and does its own liquid cooling with no maintenance from you) it still runs my old i7 930 at 25-28 deg and not above 40 under the most heavy sessions. its the single best $$ ive spend on gaming ever just make sure that i5 is not locked, im not up to my i5 designations and which are good/bad
-
this is perfect m8 you want the gtx 970 cause performance to $ ratio the i5 is perfect, as long as its unlocked cooler $50 get an all in one water cooler. (low profile , clean and cools 10x better than any air system) over clock past 4.0 ghz and your set

wow this may be a good time to install my gtx 970 and get back to SA. jesus fuck, i just moved and dont even have a computer desk setup yet!
