no need for logout timer, just leave your body there temporarily for 20 sec or so... that way combat loggers get killed/looted. also slap in a timer for changing servers...even 4-5 minutes will suffice and curb server hopping. should have been implemented on day 1, also stand to reason to help server loads...

what server you on/ location? im want to test my pristine LR hunting scope :) sounds fun though, gotta entertain yourself with this stuff for sure. you should have a spotter though watching your back...you may get axed or turbo punched while trying to help someone and lose everything.

wouldnt it wipe your main character though? god people complain about getting wiped all the time, so i think a server like this is going to wipe you every time you go back to hive...maybe? All i know is if i dont stay with the obvious server names/companies i get wiped. Wouldnt be willing to sac that on loot farming servers. enjoy nubs

fucking tents first...lol we dont even have shit saving on servers yet, nevermind base building. the day that tents and vehicles stay on servers after reset will be a great sign that it has gotten near/past the mod in features and function.

60 fps np 30+ in cities as good as it gets for the most part in SA...until it is optimized better.

i would say no... i can run the mod on ultra low with 15-20 fps on a lenovo m57 at work it is a dual core 2.5ghz with a low pro amd radeo 5750 or something 4 gb ram, etc main thing is you need way way more processor speed and a better gfx card

I made a silly flowchart, i made it blinding for fun so dont complain. Everyone's system/setup is different so results may vary. it really should solve a lot of questions on here...definitely the PC side, and the laptop side is a guideline to follow to help avoid disappointment. a server with good people and no bandits...sounds like farmville to me :) but really dude, the more lives you die the more your learn. the day you find your first weapon and shoot someone in the face you will get it.

60+ fps is pretty good for SA! with further optimization you can dial in those 20fps lows for sure. Sit in a field and click every option systematically in the graphics settings and see how to max your fps/look good. also the config/launch params optimization are great for getting the last 5 or so fps.

Echo that, stick to the same server prefix. like only play on CA 24 - vilayer.com, mpgs.com, gameservers.com, frag or NJ 12, or UK 14, etc those server names are all on the whitelist and you will never lose your character. if you log in to a server by accident not on whitelist, and you notice your character is wiped, you can sometimes QUICKLY logout and re join a hive server and find your character in 1 piece..

isnt arma 2 CO like $20? hells ya its worth it. list of flavours for you to try (after vanilla DayZ mod) Overwatch Epoch Origins all very very fun there was a method of using Arma 2 Lite (free) and running DayZ perfectly fine, except some of the textures were not as nice as they could be... This is a legal method, not a pirated copy or anything.

there have been tweets about it between rocket and many people complaining. it is being fixed...whats ridiculous that it wasnt fixed in first patch? i mean come on...it makes the whole game 10x better instantly.. -roaming around -looking around -pvp everything is upgraded with a useful fucking mouse... i hate the way it is now and I hate the fact that they included a non working button in the options...

this is the best idea ever! "how has no one ever come up with this" lol yes, this is pretty standard on the mod in some servers. this technique + arma 3 BreakingPoint's should have been implemented since day 1, Im going to assume that they didnt want the bodies left around because performance is not quite up to par yet... however a timer penalty if you switch servers is simple and effective...this should be implemented as soon as they have loot spawn timers proper in the servers...because right now server hopping is a must if you want anything.

I have an ASUS g73sw it has turbo to 3.x ghz, which in my opinion is not enough for SA. However it does "play" "ok"...compared to other peoples desktop setups and reported fps... you will enjoy a desktop so much more than a laptop. you will also have the ability to upgrade easily in the future. if desktop, highly recommend i5 or i7, even get an older 3770k...no need for the 4770k and such. and i5 2600k is top top tier for gaming still, but i prefer the i7 for multitasking...depends on your budget. for $50 you can get an antec kuhler 620 (best all in 1 water cooler on the market (for the price)) you can over clock the cpu easily easily to 4.5 ghz and really enjoy yourself on any game. Provided you have a decent gfx card. i run a gtx 570 and it more than enough for most games these days on High-Ultra. But im sure the gtx 6xx are coming down in price now, so that may be a better buy.

depends on the night server, some have plenty of natural moon light. Something similar to Arma 3, not sure if it has been fixed from the start night light settings but it works well now. only need for flashlight is for inside rooms and precise looting. sometimes its nice to get away from it all and play on a night time server with LOOT and constantly low POP.

more LTL like breaking point A3 uses a ton of LTL rubber bullets that do KO only, etc if that was the case it would give leeway to those who want to be hero type or medic type without having to KOS. such a great option, knowing you can KO someone without a doubt. Then investigate, interrogate, etc.
