Uniquely Bad DayZ framerate performance?
deebz1234 replied to dave_e_crockett's topic in Troubleshooting
wow that has to be the most uninformed statement ever. 8gb is plenty for any game these days. no one needs 16gb for a gaming rig, yet. its nice to have, but with any current game you wont see performance increase. CPU + GPU upgrades (or OC) = happy dayz i am only using 8gb dual chan for now ddr4 was expensive and not worth forking out big $$ for. -
Uniquely Bad DayZ framerate performance?
deebz1234 replied to dave_e_crockett's topic in Troubleshooting
last resort id reinstall windows and dayz as a last result, dont touch any cfg files or do any tweaks then systematically adjust the launch parameters/ingame settings only and test on same server back to back. also having msi and riva tuner open with an OSD helps troubleshoot. you need to be viewing the real time clock speeds and load %s, etc. then you can figure out whats up. maybe its a core parking thing, maybe its the gfx card not working hard enough? etc id also try setting your render to 150%, and watch your gpu load. it should fill up more, taking more of the work and putting it on the gpu. surprisingly you may get better fps with higher settings, as it disperses some of the load on to more cores maybe and also more towards gpu? i have 6/12 core x99 with gtx 970 and only get 30-40 in cities (its gotta be limited to engine/mp performance) and 100+ fps outside of cities. but render @ 150+% and every setting on max. -
DayZ Dev hints at possible DX 12 Engine, are you all willing to wait? I know I am
deebz1234 replied to john5220's topic in General Discussion
agreed, dayz and arma 3 are using my cpu's multi cores that coupled with super sampling 200% with the gtx 970, im easily sitting 100+ fps and looks fantastic. However in congested areas/firefights it still drops from 100 fps to 35-40 fps LOL but the hope here maybe would be the increase in frames in congested areas as well? hopefully this aspect is affected and not just reliant on the engine? -
and a gtx 670 for that matter too. its CPU intensive, modern gpu not need apply. but modern cpu do! 4.0ghz+ is a must for "decent" play and beast cpus like x99 do benefit.
-
any why dont the devs give us their uber knowledge as well. launch params would be a good start... i know arma3 has since gone away with most of the launch params were all used to. in favour of proper auto detect.

DayZ minimum/recommended Specs and your rig
deebz1234 replied to LORDPrometheus's topic in General Discussion
i posted my rig(s) on page 1 but the dying light rig is 5820k 4.6ghz 8gb ddr4 2666 gtx 970 rapeage first game to evenly use all my cores and my graphics card wants to melt as well, its fucking sweet. dl has a noise filter and film grain overlay, which eats up a few fps but makes the game look less crispy. so a popular mod is to remove it. google, steam forum has all the info http://greengamers.com/dying-light-how-to-disable-film-grain-increase-fps-performance/ just dont disable shadows unless you have to for performance -
DayZ minimum/recommended Specs and your rig
deebz1234 replied to LORDPrometheus's topic in General Discussion
basically sum all this up 30 fps in cities is normal on whatever rig you find...its the limit of the optimization of dayz and its multiplayer woes. dying light unoptimized?? i get 100 fps constant in dying light, city, building, etc. only thing i did was remove the film grain. (somehow +10fps) not sure what you mean by unoptimized either. -
DayZ minimum/recommended Specs and your rig

i run standalone at my office on 2 pc's dual core 2.6 ghz - amd hd7700, configged sa to the tits and it runs mediocre at best. more of just a test if it was possible. 10-20 fps quad core i7 2.6ghz gtx 460 30fps at best home rig (shameless brag) 5820k @ 4.6ghz :) ddr4 8gb 2400mhz @2666 12-12-12 :))) gtx 970 fps in da wild- 100+ cities- 30-50 single core performance is key, i5, 4770, 4790k, 5960x, all irrelivant. my 4.2 ghz i5 does roughly the same as my 5820k (mind you the gtx 970 i have super sampling on 200% and it looks spectacular and runs as good as it gets) -

deebz1234 replied to boneboys's topic in PC Experimental Updates
on the experimental note, i wonder when we will see more hardware usage optimization trickle in. dayz is using 1 core to the max and 5 more cores at low usage. arma3 is spreading a bit better across 12 cores. if ever cant wait to get on exp tonight boofuckinya! -
also consider the headaches some people have with AMD setups for dayz and other games my intel 6 core required a shit ton of work to get working properly with dayz and arma. but the amd 6 core can do some great things when properly setup, be ready for a headache though. i almost regret building 5820k x99...i always think i should have done 4790k for cheaper and higher ghz 4/8 core. but i ended up winning the lottery on the 5820k and i got er at 4.6ghz with low vcore... but still cost me like 400$ more than a 4790k system actually for a tiny bit more money you could buy the i5 devils canyon and a gigabyte board and have way better gaming experience all around. and ditch the amd card for a nvidia and u would rock games for the next few years. single core performance is said to be maxed out at about 5ghz, so gaming is going to have to go more cores. but that being said they stil arent fully utilizing 4 cores yet, let alone hyper threading. so the i5 4 core devils canyon highly overclock would kill for a long time. then you could swap out in future for the 4790 when its good and cheap. or buy an x99 and be more future proof...but thats way more $ id say price an i5 dc gigabyte gtx 770? and see the price diffy. BUT YET, this system will play great dayz! but i hate AMD!

grimey wins the thread, no doubt. stop ruining my game with ur niceness and road flares

Think I found worst person to play Dayz
deebz1234 replied to cheranuscrusiser's topic in General Discussion
thread win ...killed by the worst player ever... but honestly, is the object of dayz to be friendly to people?? then im playing wrong big time. why do people think KOS/trickery/backstabbing is bad? why do people have a problem with letting people play how they want? -

havent played a proper session in months, just bench the new rig. dying to try exp... -
Thoughts? cant get in any EXP servers, did the usual dances. removed beclient, re verified, etc. EXP only just says WAIT FOR HOST populated and unpopulated servers, tried em all. stable works fine. thank you
-
odd, i see population on the servers. mind you they are sporadic and highly pinged. so maybe false data

you ask that, but there are many people playing on EXP. yet eugene's twitter says they all fugged up. i dont understand whats going on, but all i get is wait for host -
Waiting for host / Session Lost / Lag and Desync since last patch
deebz1234 replied to icetneo's topic in Troubleshooting
same here, but EXP only. any fix for that on EXP? -

deebz1234 replied to boneboys's topic in PC Experimental Updates
how do you guys get on? I cant get passed the Waiting For Host stuff. and the pings are mega bad on all servers, compared to stable. is that normal? like my regular us pings are 20-100max and on EXP they are like 300=1000 -
100% this is your problem... go on overclockers.net and goto the 3570k owners club, we will help you make ur machine sing
-
whats your processor speed? thats the biggest bottleneck in arma3/dayz
-
video card doesnt make the difference. however try googling dayz launch parameters, or lookup my thread. are you sure their "identical setup" is identical? no overclocks etc? basically you need 4.0ghz + to get a decent play (20 fps in cities is not horrible...lol, remember this game struggles on the best of the best systems, its the nature of the game and how much is going on) (you can see 20 fps in citites but then amazing fps in the forest, its the way she goes.) you can set your render to 150% and it wont effect ur fps, thanks to ur graphics card. and play around with the AA and AF to your liking AO off and post process off there is no magic also try your user profile and change max frames to 1 and detected frames to 1, but this didnt change anything for me. infact i put mine back to default, as the gtx 970 should handle it no problem for comparison sake, my fps @ 4.3 ghz OC was 25-30 in cities and 60-90 outside of cities but at 4.6 ghz overclock, cities are now at ~40 fps and forests about 60-110 fps but i have 6 core x99, but theoretically the game wont use more than 4 core anyways. i just read ur fps, thats normal dude, consider yourself oen of the lucky ones. only chance for you is the overclock to like 4.5 ghz and you will be happier, but i still see 25fps dips once and a while in a big zombie infested/firefight all settings on ultra, render to 150%

dayz is to be played how you see fit as an individual, OP you are on drugs if you think roaming militia would not be present.

Definitive launch parameters, devs please confirm
deebz1234 replied to deebz1234's topic in Troubleshooting
did some SA testing, with the gtx 970 and 4.6ghz overclock I can get 40 fps in cities on packed server (grey matter loot loot loot server excellent ping) but the icing on the cake is rendering @ 150% and everything on ultra. it looks fucking amazing and is actually using my GPU over 50% constant. launch params still not sure what works and what doesnt, its all voodooo single core performance is key to fps, also setting renderer to 150%+ makes your gpu work harder and it looks wayyyy better.
