first off we need server hopping fixed with a timer, that will give way to people actually trying to play the fucking game. but of course we need loot spawning first, not reliance on a server restart. if loot becomes more and more rare and the spawn mechanism and server hopping is not fixed, then it just becomes more and more enticing to server hop... opposite of what we want... i think all devs even the graphic guys should stop and fix the number 1 and number 2 problems. log out timer/ hop hop timer

you dont think that someone hacking on arma 2 with their steam account, instead of using BIS keys can get banned on SA? this is the only way I can think possible OP hillarious if you managed to get banned and even funnier if you are lying and got banned for hacking on SA and think it was a cross ban from reddit "Arma 2 is not a Steamworks game." - cant cross ban yolo

ohhhh ya, people actually played DayZ mod with Steam..i forgot about that...i understand now how they could in a very rare instance cross ban...if you were a fucking moron...and actually hacked with your steam account...

whats crazy is this: how long ago did you get banned in arma 2? how the fuck would they correlate that to SA? (if it was ages ago) battle eye bans GUID, Steam, IP (maybe other stuff) if you got banned yesterday, then i understand how they crossed it to SA but if it was previous to an IP change then how the fuck is this possible? can you prove this? or are you just pissed cause you tried using cheat engine with SA or some other ?

whoever is working on the hive/server stuff needs to address some of these issues stat...it is perfecly within the alpha tasks to fix server optimizations and such. fuck it seems as if some gameservers.com are not even on the hive. now I only play on vilayer, frags and mpgs to avoid any wipes. It really limits where and when I play and most often only in the nighttime... ballz i say, ballz... I do feel bad for you folks who are experiences constant wipe, I do think you are just not paying attention to the server naming conventions. But i could be wrong. Id suggest getting steam to re validate the dayZ install.

go play breaking point arma 3... go play the mod this is a reality and its all or nothing. if you allow server hopping people will exploit, if you remove it all together, then play is realistic. (more towards the dayz philos) maybe a script that if you hop more than 1 server in 10 mins you get a timer, so people can go "meet their friends". Breaking point has(had) a 8 minute timer if you try to switch servers too quickly....its amazing and removed all issues with ghosting or loot farming...but they have loot respawn. so it will work once we have loot respawn, because then you can actually get loot. or if there is none, there will be some spawning eventually...not like it is now where if there is none, there is none until restart

guns are generally shit IRL unless your accuracy is 100% too... try hip firing a bolt action rifle and hitting the target at 100+ yards. fuck, try shooting a real bolt gun from a bench with a scope and such..."it was a flyer, i swear" if your mosin is in good condition and same with the optics, you can easily hit 500+ yards.

this is the definition of server hopping and one of the biggest complaints. Your obviously new and dont understand so dont worry. But dont get used to it, as this behavious is only temporary. Soon the loot will repsawn on its own in the server and there will be a timer so you cant jump between servers to "farm" loot. this practice can also be used for ghosting, so you get in trouble pvp and then you change servers, run behind or change position and then change back to the original server and kill continue your pvp from a vantage point...not cool bra how to fix the character wipe and still "server hop"-ish. Stick to proper hive servers, you should notice if you pause and think for a moment that there are many similarly named servers...those are proper legit hive. vilayer.com, fragnet, mpgs, etc = GOOD bandito awesome DayZ 24/7 day = BAD (and will wipe your character if you hop around)

I only trust Vilayer, mpgs, fragnet now. gameservers.com has 1 or 2 servers that maybe arent really theirs or something, same naming convention but always wipe my character. So annoying. not to mention this new patch set me back about 3-4 days on my progress...was truly not expecting that... bottom line you shouldnt play on "random dayz server" and should stick to "CA 24 - vilayer.com DayZ bla bla" the similarly named servers are safe

wholey fuck, I was at the NEA and now im back about 2km from that position without the gear i picked up before the patch. but i still have my same gear from about 3 days ago? was this a time slated rollback for everyone or something? very strange...lost a good amount of stuff, but not a full whipe???

I think new players just want quick loot or instant player interaction. I find it odd, I never stick around a town after spawning...straight north ish every spawn, as fast as possible to the treelines. then again, if I had the attention span of a teenager id want to KO everyone i see and try to take their loot. but the real joy of this game is being a ninja and a sniper...these take patience.

I believe you log in to your BIS website account and then you can copy the key from there to steam... they should have emailed it instantly. or using steam was the easier option

character resets are fixed, you are playing on NON HIVE servers thus resulting in character resets. dayz us 14 - gameservers.com = good datz uk 23 - vilayer.com = good badManDayZ awesomo 4000 server = bad (or non hive) use common sense

you can loot your gear back from it. patch coming today makes a 10 minute timer on your body. a lot of what you ask is in the forums, feel free to search them or google, prob a lot quicker than asking in a new thread.

you have a shite laptop with a shite video card. you are trying to run a game which has a 200ish km open world (which no other game has) on a server... you barely meet the posted minimum req's..maybe not even. Arma 2, 3, SA are very CPU dependant. your CPU is very slow, min 3ghz for decent SA performance. the gtx 525 is a very low end card, laptop version even more so. The later 2 numbers in a card for nvidia explains how good that version of that generation is. ex gtx 525 is not as good as a gtx 460. (25 being low end, 60 being a higher spec card (even from a prev gen)) my 500$ asus ROG laptop plays SA fine. But that was 500$ used.
