    ya that satellite stuff is scary. satellite generally only offers download @ reasonable speeds, but the upload is a separate connection i believe. So you use satellite for down and 56k or isdn for UP. (if i recall correctly) however the down speed is generally pretty quick OP I wouldnt suggest it for SA at the moment. If you want to test, try googling Arma Free and DayZ mod. you can cobble something together and test it in the cheapest way possible, but a 700 ping is just scary

    The SKS in my closet begs to differ OP post apocalyptic zombie simulator without guns...may as well be second life... You have no idea what you speak, or about the game. you are playing a very early unpolished Alpha. try the mod, get the experience and understand the legacy.

    February 24th Devblog Summary

    honestly this video should clear up about 70% of complaints on the forum. If all of what he says will hit experimental in the coming weeks, I will be one happy camper. I didnt hear mention of the nvidia/amd tweaks, it would be nice to see this implemented post haste. the hunting sounds amazing, finally getting dedicated teams for these things. Their knowledge coming from hunting games like "the hunter" is very promising. Just think what an outside team could add to things like hit detection and such. amazing video. if he doesnt return, ill flip my lid. but of course still play...hah, sort of how it goes with DayZ..

    this new batch of DayZ players are unreal. it blows my mind. considering how the MOD flourished from from vanilla, why would SA die so early? look at minecraft, its creator left within a year and how far did that game go? threads like this, while you may think you are being clever, are just retarted.

    ALPHA! lol couldnt resist. Strawman...try running up a hill in SA. tell me then you understand what were saying. i think you think they designed the controls like this to make the game more realistic. basically they should fix the negative mouse accell and smooth things out, and then introduce realism. I dont think porting over the code from TOH or Arma 2 is a great idea. Its bohemia...the movement and weapons, etc are all so well done in arma 3. why the fuck not use it and mod it. as opposed to trying to reinvent the wheel.

    Pro's are ghosts Pro's choose their targets wisely Pro's know the map without needing dayzDB and know where they are at all times Pro's rarely hang out at the coast Pro's take the long way round Pro's know the rarity's of the map Pro's dont need a second long distance shot (or think they dont haha) realistically the idea here is mature vs immature. plenty of nubs are mature and do their own thing and try to be smart. but the majority are young people that think these games are force feeding simulators...

LOL that statement... fps is highly server dependent. so a single player experience makes no sense whatsoever for fps testing. your fps would differ so much. try a 0 population server with fraps and then try a 64/64 person server (or 50/50 or whatever its at now) essentially what your asking for can simply be done by joining a 0 pop server... you can run Chernarus plus single player if you google how. basically if you had no zombies or loot or anything your FPS would be 3x what it is now. these elements destroy fps.

    that was really helpful... (sarcasm) please give us some details. it sounds like you are just whining but are you experiencing the well documented death loop on regular servers? or what? did you try server hopping? did you try logging out and in very quickly?

    that sucks, cant help. I switched to Experimental because the regular was unplayable for me (death loop) it fixed my problems...and is a far more fun experience

    EXP im always playing on Daytime..i mean always. Have been playing exp for 2 weeks solid and never hit night. im EST and play between 4-10pm seeing as your UK, this may make perfect sense

  22. not going to read it all, but I agree with the op. They already have the money. So why shell out now. They will over time no doubt and we will get a much better product by beta and so on. This may take 2 years though.. The incentive to "release on deadline" or have this feature ready or have all this setup before a massive launch party etc etc etc. its just not there.

    not to mention once you start an action, you must finish it. got mauled to death because I decided to eat some food in a quiet little spot...shout easily be able to cancel out of an action and run! I love how when SA first came out, FrankieonPC tweeted rocket about the mouse accel...rocket was quick to pander to that and assure him it was being addressed asap. Where did that go? Nowhere...
