    Gear and item storage?

    I believe it will exist per server, and not entire hive. Imagine that out of the million+ players, 200,000 put up a tent. If that was to be across the entire hive, the maps would get clogged up :P

    Gamemodes

    No set gamemodes. Ever. If you want some sort of gamemode, set it up with some people and just...do it. It's a free and open world.

    For me, it seems the inventory plays shitty tetris everytime I log back in. Especially if I'm carrying one large item and many small ones in the backpack.

  5. You find them at all the same places as before. Except for the cars it seems. Shotgun and Mosin spawns at the same places. Office-buildings, etcetera.

    Tents are empty, but the barracks still spawn plenty.

    Headtorch

    Not all headgear will work out with this. Try putting a headtorch on a beret. It'll be fucked up. That being said, I would too like to see the headlamp on some kinds of headwear, and would also like it to be adjustable. Shouldn't be that hard to have 3 or 5 sets of angles adjustable from the inventory? I also like the idea of coloured light. There is a reason the army has toggable lights (red/white).

    [solved] Remove quick slot items.

    Drag it outside of the inventory screen. For example on the right side, against the edge of the screen.

    *THIS* is why I KOS.

    When encountering bambis, I have my weapon drawn and tell them to keep their distance. If they do so, I might have a pleasant chat, and hand over some supplies if I have some extra. If he does not keep the distance, even if he sounds nice and gentle, I kill with no remorse. The fists are the most deadly weapon in the game. Seriously. One hit to the face, and your gear and life is lost.

    Answer my questions, oh lords of dayz.

    1. Spraypainted mosin bug is still there. Probably fixed for next patch. 4. The shotgun spawns basically everywhere the mosin spawns. Press "T" to toggle single or both barrels firing (it's bad ass). 5. Most of the times it is a death sentence. Unless you have a friend that can patch you up. Ninja'd :(

    The bodies disappearing after 10 minutes is just temporary to lighten server-load I believe. The spawn as of now is a bit lame, yes, but believe me, it was even worse before. This will probably be dealt with in the future. For now, try your best to enjoy the alpha, and try to remember it is not the finished product ;)

    Death is supposed to be final. You are not supposed to be able to get your old gear back. You fuck up, you start from scratch. Makes it all the more exciting in a situation where you might die ;)

    trouble finding knives, axes, (anything that can open cans)

    Items in general have become a bit harder to come by. Personally I haven't had a problem finding something to open cans with tho. (The hacksaw spawns in almost every single office-building. It too can be used to open cans)

    Someone explain zeroing to me!

    the easy explanation: zeroed at 100meters, bullet hits at 100 meters, center of reticle. zeroed at 200 meters, bullet hits at 200 meters, center of reticle. and so on. In game, there is no visual differences.

    batteries and pens (and small items like the mentioned) should be stackable. If a gas canister and the likes only takes one slot, it's only unreasonable that the smaller once can't be stacked.

    Cars as loot location?

    I too haven't found anything in cars since the patch. Nothing in the tents at Balota either. It might just have been bad luck, but I played for a good couple of hours, and endured a server restart. I used to find the fireaxe, food and shoes in most cars, and quite often the Mosin. I do not mind the spawnrates being reduced, but per now it looks like it has been completely removed :P In any case, the game turned much more interesting. Finding more food and drinks then you can consume, and more ammo then you'll ever use quickly got boring. Now I actually have to scavenge more often. And I enjoy it. (I do hope to find things in the cars and tents again tho. Just severly reduced spawns please) B)

    Seriously. More of these posts? My god. I do believe there is a search-button somewhere around here. /end rant On another note. It is a known issue and being worked on as we speak. There is a thread with lists of servers to avoid. Just keep trying untill you hit a server that works. Personally I have no problem finding working servers.

    Sawed-Off as sidearm

    It's fully usable as a sidearm. It takes 2x5 slots in your backpack, and is bad fucking ass. you don't hit shit, but people go running when you fire both barrels (toggable by "T").
