Yea. I saw this just now but when I refreshed it went away.

I try to die anymore. After having a character live for almost a month, winning dozens of gun battles and having everything in the mod I reached a point where I knew I would probably rage hard if I died. That day I walked into NWAF with the intent of not leaving alive. After that I could care less. The game is way more fun when you put yourself into crazy situations. Run through Elektro firing off your gun, gather as many zombies as possible then try to live. Way more fun than hiding in a bush afraid of death.

If you add someone on your Steam Friends you can join the server they are on by clicking the little arrow next to their name in your friends list and select Join Game. You can also use Shift-Tab to bring up the Steam overlay and Send Message to any of them who are online. You can also try out Steam voice chat if you don't use Skype, TeamSpeak, Ventrillo or some other comms. Its not very good for voice chat, (based on the last time I tried it out), but it would be better than nothing.

At this point I'm running the game just fine except for some half second freezes here and there when I enter cities. Not even enough to be an issue, though. I think as they crank up the zombie numbers and loot I could probably just drop the quality a bit. Clouds would be the first to go, then some of the other higher end graphic choices, then textures, then finally resolution down to 1680. Most of the things that players would be willing to sacrifice should be menu options. I hope that they could find enough ways to increase performance through optimizations, (not much in at this point), that it won't be an issue once zombies and types of loot get their increases.

If you got it from Steam you would have to go through them. I've got refunds for three games so far through them so I know for a fact they will refund, but that's usually if something is wrong with the game.

meh if unarmed people can log out without consequence then why not? I'm sure every player I've ever killed has probably disagreed with my choice to kill them. Who am I to complain that they choose to avoid that death.

It will likely stay like that until the game gets more zombies in. I don't see too many people firing off shots in Cherno if 50-100 zombies come their way every time. It happens in the mod because you can easily avoid the zombies inside buildings but I doubt it will ever go away as its a part of the game. You'll just see more people kos-ing with hatchets then and that's a much easier situation to deal with.

I have found thirty or so mags for an m4 and a grand total of zero for the pistol. I think I've seen total bullets for it but no mags.

Fraps is a free download. Just set up that program and you can take them like in Steam.

Everything is server side. Once you reinstall and join a server it should remake anything local you deleted except for your custom menu options.

You want to know what non-melee weapons we can't find? Not sure what you mean. So far in this game I have found the M4 plus all of the attachments. I've found the Mosin and a scope for it but no ammo so I ditched it. I also found an FN45 handgun with a small red dot type scope. I think its called FN45 but I never found a magazine for it so I also threw it away as well. Guns are pretty much guaranteed to spawn at barracks at military bases, (Balota, NW Airfield, NE Airfield and other places around map), and sometimes spawn in fire-stations. I have found a handgun on top of every fire-station I have checked. No ammo or clips though. The Mosin I have found laying around inside houses and on the back seats of a couple wrecked cars.

In a game with hundreds of thousands of players each one will have something different they would like to see added to the game more than anything else. Can't blame a guy because his 'thing' is a haircut. Eventually, I hope they implement all kinds of different customization options for characters so that our friends can be unique and easily identifiable. I don't see this happening until much later when the full game is released but it would be a cool addition.

I have north and east parts and both are worn but they will not combine into a larger map. At this point they are just taking up space.

Since you feel you are so good at the game then you definitely have been on the bug tracker, right? Since I have never seen you listed there I'm going to assume you're just an idiot trying to feel good about running your mouth about what a player wants to experience. The point of this release is to test the game and provide feedback. Good luck helping anything while testing in the dark. I'll gladly be the one shooting you from three blocks away since you won't be seeing me. It might just be because of the moon but I see just fine right now. Even once it releases if there are nvg in the game I won't bother with playing with a flashlight. Just feels like a waste of time fumbling around in the dark, trying to find bugs and realizing your flashlight is just a kill me beacon to the 99% of players that KOS.

I;m not sure which one did it but I broke me leg falling off of a building and it healed on its own. I was healthy at the time and ate and drank whatever I could find. I also took painkillers, vitamins, antibiotics and charcoal tabs just because I was really wanting the groaning to stop. Eventually it said that my wounds were looking better and my status said Healing.

I like your second idea. Sounds pretty cool.If they did that they could add in a bounty system. Find a board in Cherno that has pictures or names with a request to kill them. Then later you would 'recognize' them somehow.

I regened back to full yesterday after an update. My status was Healthy then it said healing.

Just a little PSA for anyone that is new to Dayz and came here because they watched some 'hilarious' video on YouTube. That guy you saw screaming about eating someone's face as he ran in to kill them probably died fifty times before he found someone new enough who didn't know how to defend himself. Its actually sad just how many people I've had to shoot in the face the last two days who tried to be maniacs in game. The last guy stood yelling at me for two straight minutes. I just stood there waving. As he ran towards me I just stepped in a few feet and one shot him with a fireman's axe. Partypomcer was original, a hacker and funny. You are just wasting my bullets. That's awesome. I respect bandits that hunt their prey. I play a hero who hunts bandits but at least the good ones put the work in.

I'm guessing English isn't your primary language as the word you're looking for is dumb/dumbest. Dumbest death I've had is logging off on the roof of a hospital. Logged back in the next day twenty feet to the right and falling to my death. Weeeee!

I am quick to admit that I misjudged this game the same way as OP over my first few days. Not having any indicators to let you know how close to dying you are is definitely not helpful to new players. It takes some getting used to the fact that not only are you very close to death the moment you spawn into the game but you are never told this so its easy to die and not know why. There hasn't been any FAQ's or help guides in game or even a manual that tells you this so its definitely a harsh lesson to learn. While I like the brilliance of this game's devious nature it probably doesn't help the long term life of the game when people might just quit without never knowing how easy it really is to avoid these deaths. Harsh is good. Unbelievably harsh without an obvious reason is just counter-productive. My latest spawn has been shot multiple times, hit with an axe four times, hit by countless zombies and fell ten feet off of a roof. My chick probably has some gnarly scars all over. I was already at the Healthy state every time so I eventually healed from all of my injuries except the broken leg from falling. I assume it was a broken leg because I fell, but again, no feedback except my character hissing and groaning. I took some antibiotics, painkillers, vitamins and some charcoal tabs. Didn't know what would help so I became a pill poppin maniac for a few hours. At some point it started telling me that my wounds looked cleaner and I stopped groaning. I think everyone just needs to realize that the first hour is the most important. Get full food and drink, get your status to healthy and surviving becomes too easy after that. Spawning then jogging from Kamenka to the apartments above Balota and I died. Was at Healthy status once at Balota and jogged all the way to Lopatina, then north to the new roads, then all the way to Berezino where I doubled back to that small town NW of there. In that time I only had to eat a few things and drank a dozen times at every well I passed and haven't yet had it tell me I'm hungry or thirsty.

I was thinking the same thing. The music in the mod sucked but I doubt there would have been anything they could have put in that I would have left turned on. The distraction is just too high. Except maybe if CCR Fortunate Son started playing anytime you took off in a helicopter.
