wow now i feel really stupid xD sorry for my useless post ^^

just go to a good store, and say you are willing to buy a gaming PC in the range of 1-2 grand. what is the country you live in? so that people can recommend you a particular store where people can help you. (many stores contain unexperienced pricks who just try to sell you some bullshit, so be aware of this). then let them show you what they can offer you for that price. either by building it for you or by showing you prebuilt models. then show the specs here and we can discuss. the problem with prebuilt models is that they cost alot more, and often times contain bullshit you do not need (like a fancy case for example).

because if he has no experience in assembling, or does not know how to assemble he might mess stuff up. mainly because many people screw up the installation of certain vents which makes the PC overheat, either because it has poor contact with the processor or a poor choiche in direction of the vent air.

in my country there is a shop where you can go and specify what pc you want. they will build it for you. in my case i asked what i could get for around 1'500 bucks (i dont know how much pc parts cost in your country, but in mine everything is darn expensive), and then they printed out a sheet of paper with its stats. i asked around some friends and they said that the stats are really good for that price. so i decided to go for it. and this pc is now almost 5 years old, and i can still play many new games on max settings. so why not ask the guy in the shop to build something for you, it comes alot cheaper than a prebuilt, and should not cost much more than if you build it yourself. then you can just post the stuff they would put in the pc and the people here can give you advice.

dont worry, thats one of the reasons why rocket will not implement cars for the alpha. he will do cars from scratch to prevent such things.

my worst habit is the fact that i stash away everything useful whitout ever using it. whenever i find something considered "good", i stash it away, because i dont want to die with it. for example: "oh look a DMR, better hide it away, it is way too cool to be equipped, my double barreled shotgun is good enough" the problem is that i never equip stuff from my dozens of stashes, since i am paranoid that someone follows me and finds the stash. so i simply keep making new stashes, whitout ever being satisfied. i run around with the most minimalistic and basic gear. in the end the tents either get plundered or the server disappears/gets a clean reset and everything is gone. this is really something people may call "autistic" about me, it is really not healthy i think.

we should also have suits made out of humans, so that bandits can wear a hero skin to betray other people.

What will be the first thing that you will do in SA?
Wep0n replied to Malvarik's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
realistically: -check the controls. -try out the controls. -go close to a zombie. -see what he can do. -zombie surprisingly dangerous. -start bleeding. -no bandages, or not finding bandage wounds key. -bleed out. -
why doesnt anyone like the makarov? just because she has way too low damage, doesnt mean she is not beautiful. also the AKM and CZ.

dean hall is doing a horrible job at keeping people's hype low. currently hype levels are reaching a new peak. the highest one ever infact.

did anyone mention ?rocket adds his opinion to storytelling. it starts at 7 minutes.

rocket said he is going to give players tools to deal with bandits. small things like bloody hands after looting, a different facial expression and such are all going to help people indentify people. being friendly is actually a nice challenge, and that's good. being pure from evil is going to make most survivors like you. i personally never kill heroes because i KNOW they dont kill people, they are good hardened veterans getting the praise they deserve for living such a difficult life. (of course in SA, there will not be a clear distinction between bandits and heroes, but there will be hints)

well hardcore gaming is something people just fall into. at first, you might loose yourself a bit, but you will get used to it and learn to control and genuinely enjoy it. i never actively played something and then regret that i could have done something better. only bad thing you can do is to play games just to pass some time, or play games while you have other duties. always do your duties first, then you can enjoy and fully dive into games! play passionate, and when you dont feel like it just do something else. nothing is worse than playing a game "just to do something"

i think rocket mentioned that you need a gun to kill yourself. so if you spawn at a horrible place, you first have to find a gun, which is not really easy in the standalone. and at that point you already gathered some stuff and invested quite some time, you would not really want to make suicide just to get the chanche to spawn somewhere different, since walking there costs the same amount of time like finding a gun to kill yourself. this is still not going to prevent people to jump from buildings though... especially with short loading times, people are encouraged more than ever to kill themselves that way. i actually prefer your more constructive posts like above. makes you 10 times more likeable and valuable to the community. you are free to post your opinions, but whitout proper arguments, you will only make people angry. or if you wanna troll, then you must do it properly, like g000gle. he is the funniest troll on this forum. a rare breed of trolls i actually enjoy. if you want to hoard massive amounts of beans, post it on the "just saw rocket again" thread, this is the place where such pics are posted :D -

i'd even play it if it was just the map + camera mode. no players no zombies no loot. i would strafe the camera around for hours and hours to discover the new places, making elaborate plans before being even able to play the game itself. (although it would probably ruin exploration later in game) -

i think this is honestly a good point both people made. on one hand, it is nice to be able to interrupt animations, and some things are more fluid and smoother. on the other hand, the character indeed feels way too fast and agile. i really dont want it to become like COD where people run around like mad, use unrealistic tactics to circle strafe you... DayZ is not a twitchy shooter. the character indeed needs to have some weight onto him, strategic decisions have to be made, and shooting should be something that needs your full attention, time, and makes you vulnerable. streamlinging things just to make some things easier does not make it necessarily good. the difficulty in aiming and maneuvring your character added a very special tactical layer to the mod. you weren't able to just run around and gather kills by simply having quick reactions, and not having any aiming/tactical skills. in dayZ, the brighter/more veteran player survives. because he has knowledge. in COD, only the player with the quickest reaction wins, and whitout using any tactics. the game becomes really boring that way, as John gibson, (the president of tripwire, which created red orchestra) pointed out in this article. although i am pretty sure they will balance the movement, it defenitely is in rockets interest to remain authentic and tactical, so i think they will find the perfect mix of not being too clunky, but also not becoming a twitchy dull mainstream shooter experience. -

please look out your window. how does it look like? look at the color scheme. pretty much like dayZ. DayZ attempts to look as realistic and authentic as possible (which it achieves, together with arma, it is about the most realistic looking game i ever played). what artstyle are you talking about? we are talking about DayZ, not in borderlands or something... if you expected dayZ to be a stylized kewl over the top zombie shooter, then this game clearly is nothing for you. i am really happy how it looks like currently, and looking forward how they will enhance the animations and dead bodies in the future. -

the troll is strong in this one... animations are refined, the ui actually WORKS and is FUNCTIONAL, and the zombies are less stupid than in the mod. also it is pre alpha. and the crafting system is just awesome by the way, i think i remember some zombie animations from a certain devblog: i think i just found dean the zombie :D -

that glorious moment when matt puts on the helmet and the character does not start swimming beneath the ground. -
my childhood would have been so much more fun!

i am fine with the two sliders. one for the music, and one for the enviroment. its horrible when people can minimize certain enviromental sounds just to be able to hear relevant things such as survivors. when zombies are nearby, it will defenitely cause noise and disorientation, and not knowing what happens around you is adding alot to the fear. (although you are right about the flies, they are just over the top loud) same thing counts also for the visual sliders. its horrible when people adjust the sliders to get a gameplay advantage. all audio/video settings should give the players equal chanches of survival.

Question from Gaming magazine: Why is permadeath fascination
Wep0n replied to Lord_Darkmoon's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
permadeath is not only a way to value your life, but also gives the player the chanche to start fresh and attempt a new exciting journey in survival. -
i think that such a pistol could break authenticity. it appears to be rather exotic... but i think i see where this suggestion for "heavy pistols" might be coming from. maby you got annoyed by the pistols generally being very weak? atleast i am. having to shoot almost a whole makarov mag into a person to kill it is just totally ridiculous. better enhance the currently available weaponry than to introduce exotic stuff...
