Are you running a 32 bit version of Windows? A quick Google search for "error updating DayZ (application configuration not valid" revealed possible causes and fixes. -

Verify the files, Restart Steam, Restart your computer, Reinstall DayZ.... so many options because you gave nearly NO information. -

Are you able to start Dayz? Are you able to join any servers? Do you get kicked from servers when you try to join them? If so, what is the message you receive.... You really need to supply more answers to get any help. -

If you play on a high population server, you will find that players treat the game like a deathmatch game. Just watch many of the videos out there by the people that regularly play. If you want a survival experience and a chance to build and experience the game, you'll need a lower population PVE server. -

Download the DayZ standalone dedicated server from Steam. All the vanilla files are there. -
At least with this latest purchase you might be able to get a refund, as long as there's less than a hour game play, I think...

Can someone explain the wolf_territories.xml file to me? I'm confused because as part of increasing the zombies on my server, I edited the zombie_territories.xml and in that file, I edited smin/smax and dmin/dmax but those numbers are all 0's in the wolf file. Does that file ONLY designate the spawns for the wolves? I also understand how events.xml play into the zombie spawns, but does it also control the wolf spawns in the same way?

It's obvious one person was banned when they were caught using a hack they bought online. They then created multiple accounts on the forum to make it look like a widespread issue. I've been here since 2013 but I didn't create an account because I had a problem. I created an account to be active in the DayZ community.

With the latest 1.06 update, Bears were activated in the server files for Chernarus.

There has to be a limit to how realistic it is or else it would get even more boring. How about this for realistic? You get one life. Once you die, you can't play the game anymore? How about once someplace has been looted, it never generates loot again? Once you kill the zombies someplace they are gone forever? Did I make my point?

Have you cleaned the dust out of your computer lately? Overheating CPU's can often cause that exact problem. -

There's also a Play button on the main menu that will connect you to the last server you played on.

You could try putting in a support ticket with Fragnet. Ask them if they could change one of the servers to Livonia. -

Have you considered submitting a ticket on BI's feedback tracker? You might have a better chance to get noticed there.

I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but why not rent a server in Texas, or another southern US location? The ping might be better? You could run it vanilla if that's what you like.

The types.xml and events.xml have been changed for 1.06 in regards to fruit. For example, apple: 1.05 types.xml: 1.06 types.xml: In 1.06, Apple, Plum and Pear are not even in the events.xml. Again, an example of apple from 1.05: Does anyone know why this was done? Fruit is not spawning.

You sure about the lack of fruit trees? I've seen plenty of trees that looked like apple trees.
