If you're playing on a vanilla community server, there's no admin tools so nothing can be spawned in. Admin mods are required on both the client and server so just look for a community vanilla server with no mods and you're good. As far as community servers with admin tools, not every admin spawns stuff in for themselves. I have one vanilla and one modded server. On the modded server I play like everyone else. I spawn nothing in for myself. -

You can describe it in much more detail... does he click on his server (or whatever you console people do) and it doesn't react? Does it start to load and the game crashes? Does he start connecting but then gets a message when he tries to connect? Does he have access to server logs that can help him diagnose what is going on? Do consoles have client side logs that could shed some light? Details.... You can't bring your car to a mechanic and tell him "It doesn't work".... same with asking for help with a game... -

Good luck with that. The devs don't have anything to do with the official servers. They don't admin them. They don't set them up. They are managed 100% by the hosting companies.

They're also mechanics and they know how to hunt animals and cut them up properly. You can only take realism in a video game so far.

That's all configurable by a server owner. One could even remove shovels from the loot - problem solved - nothing is buried! 🙂 -
Get over it and find another server. Servers that do that will quickly find themselves without a player base.

I have the leather tanning mod on my servers but I don't see too much of a use for it because clothing is just too easy to come across, negating the need for leather clothes.

On community servers, the server owners can edit the starting loot. On official, you will always get almost nothing to start. That's default vanilla, no admins, no changes in configs. -
