Over the last few days it seems a lot of players on my server have been getting kicked because their BE client stops responding. Dart shows a lot of "Could not connect to BE Master" messages. Anyone else seeing this?

As you can see from the forum I posted on, this is on the mod and the issue is not people being banned. It's players being kicked for BE client not responding and Dart showing it can't connect to BE servers.

I don't mine playing at night. I do mind playing at night every time I connect to a server in the late morning/afternoon local time.

It seems that no matter where a server is located, they all use the same time. I was on a server at 12:30 EST and it was dark, but it was located in Chicago. The only time I see daylight is the early morning eastern US time.

It's so hard to move around in first person. I'd probably get dizzy playing in first person will all the movement I'd have to do to see everything. If people want first person view only, they should find a server that has third person disabled, but certainly do not remove third person for everyone.

Both Vilayer and GameServers.com are renting servers. GameServers.com is charging $2.29/slot, minimum of 30 slots, for a total of $68.95/month. Vilayer is charging €52.50EUR/month for 30 slots. Gameservers.com: http://www.gameservers.com/game_servers/dayz.php Vilayer: https://www.vilayer.com/game-servers/game-servers.html Those prices are a little rich for my blood, especially considering the number of official servers right now. People are just joining available servers without regards for who is hosting or what the settings are, so I believe it's pointless to run my own server at this time.

Well then, it's a good thing stand alone isn't on the Arma engine. It's not even on the Arma 2 engine! For me, not sure of my exact FPS, as I don't have anything in game telling me what it is, but it's super smooth for me so far. Then again, I've only played in the dark, so there's no telling what the daylight will bring.

I've never seen anyone with a primary gun in their hands and a primary gun on their back nor have I seen anyone with two primary weapons. -

You could always set up Big Brother Bot and then you could kick and ban from in-game! -

The hatchet takes the place of your primary weapon. -
If the server you are playing on doesn't start you with a map (most don't), then check out the grocery stores. That's probably the most likely place to find a map, then set waypoints (If they are enabled on the server), as others suggested. Eventually you'll know the lay of the land so well you won't even need a map to get around.

When you play on unregulated PvP servers, sure, that's the experience you'll get. What you need is a nice whitelisted PvE server. -

That's just a bad admin. Probably a 13 year old that had their mommy rent a server for them. Come check out Killin Zedz PvE server. We've got missions, AI Bandits, custom bases, military bases and more.
