Yeah, what the hell is up with that ass hat (rhino)? How are we not raking him over the coals? Wasn't he the one that started a huge $h!t storm this summer and said he would not be playing standalone and that Dean was a huge idiot.

The test build is always one step ahead of the stable build. In other words one. -

I believe they said that they are six months away from having all features implemented. That was in relation to a base building and vehicle implementation question. So, I'm assuming they think it will be in alpha for around six months then beta for a couple months before the full release. I know that's not exact but what they are doing isn't an exact science. It's progressing nicely if you ask me. -
Noted hilarity of comment, mid morning EST. Logged.

I experienced this as well. I took a dead characters tactical vest. I dropped items from it. I noticed something was odd when I couldn't place other items in the slots where the item I dropped had been previously stored. At first, I thought it was related to the vest being "ruined" but then after logging out and back in. The original item I dropped had returned to it's place in the inventory. So, I'm guessing I couldn't place items there because the item I dropped was in fact there but not visible. EDIT: Please god, someone tell me what I just typed there makes sense.

Yeah, it's a pretty rough bug. I really appreciate all of you taking the time to visit the link and vote on it. Another strange note, after I was killed last night, my friend watched my corpse from about 800 meters away. I ran back to the body, all the while, he was saying, "it's still here, it's still here" When I got there, there was not body but he could see it through his scope. He's like, "you're standing right over it man, it's right there." There was nothing, it wasn't invisible to me either, I didn't get the gear or hide body option when scroll wheeling. Eventually he said, "Ok, it just disappeared." Not sure what that's all about. I feel like all these strange issues with corpses and mirrored inventory are related.

Ugh, have you watched the videos he's talking about because it is extremely easy to get. All you do is eat seven or eight cans of food and fill up at a well. Allow five to ten minutes in between for digestion and boom, healthy status. I'm really surprised that people are still having trouble with this but it makes them easier to kill so it's fine by me.

The reduction of loot in militarised zones
Dr. Goner replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion
Nope. It was stated early on that gear and ammo will be VERY difficult to find. Our easy access to these over the past month has been due to alpha testing. This is not a military simulator. This is a survival simulator. The COD games were fun while they lasted but it's time we moved on to the real game of keeping our bellies full and running around in purple shoes and red patchwork hiking pants. Also, bananas in holsters and banana peels please. -

Not exactly but close. Your character will be persistent on some and not on others you just have to hop around to figure out which ones work right now. -
This is me. Now I can dress as I do in reality. EDIT: I love how it appears as if my shit is sloppily tucked in. EDIT 2: I meant shirt but yeah my shit is messy.

Servers with connection issues to central hive
Dr. Goner replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
Several This is not the place to post that. Relevant: It seems that several of the hosting companies are claiming that it is in fact an issue on BIS's end. Just curious if anyone has gotten an email in response to reporting server problems. They are similar to this: We are working with the DayZ development group on the issue you are experiencing. Currently, it looks like it is something that will need to be fixed on the DayZ authentication servers. This is not affecting all servers, but a subset of our servers, so many are indeed working. Once we have confirmed the fix has been implemented, we will reply here and update you. Thanks, -

They are still happening. -

Also, it's not happening on all servers. I was able to retrieve a stable character by testing a few different servers out. If you're just starting. Log in move, move character, note location, log out, log back in, if the server didn't save, try another and repeat until you get a winner. I played all night with no problems. -

It's been addressed. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/167343-servers-with-connection-issues-to-central-hive/ -
Did you remove .pbo files or use any scripts or hacks available online for the standalone version of DayZ? I'm sorry but VAC has gained its reputation by being very good at what they do. I have to believe that you or someone playing on your machine cheated.

or dehydration.

Here ya go: http://www.dayztv.com/map/

Well you need to stay alive and go where the loot is to get guns so heading inland is by far the best option. That's logic my friend. You'll figure it out.

Is this how it is for new players? Or is it just me?
Dr. Goner replied to killa_justin's topic in New Player Discussion
Ha! Yeah, that's pretty well spot on. Even after playing the mod for a year, you just explained nearly word for word my first standalone play through. Very shitty time to realize that it takes a minute for things to show up when you place them on the ground and that doing so while within a building isn't really safe because they may go through the floor. Keep at it man, it's a blast once you learn the ropes. Stay off the coast for a while. Head inland to a water pump after spawing and you'll be fine. Also, avoid zombies like the plague until you have a fire axe. I'm serious they always fuck me up with anything less than a fire axe. EDIT: Also, it was a little weird starting yesterday. There will be more daylight serves before long. -
Why are you heading straight for Cherno? Head inland dude. Small towns, explore, enjoy, survive. You should be heading straight for a water pump. See my previous post on this thread for some perspective on how ludicrous what you're saying is.
