People need to grow up. This thread isn't the "every crazy has a voice" thread. If you have a legitimate suggestion, make a topic in the suggestions category. That's what it's for. For crying out loud stop with the personal insults.

I assume that his main problem was the fact that he jumped the gun completely. I'm guessing his silence was him talking to his buddies in teamspeak and asking, "How close are you guys? He said that's not happening. I'll try to just keep him up there!! Shit, he's coming down!!!"

I was in the military jail in cherno apartments one night. A voice comes over direct, "Drop your gun and come down the stair." I thought he sounded like a teenage punk. I said, "Uh, that's not happening." His response, complete and total silence. I think I heard him crap his pants. I walked slowly to the steps and when he poked his head around, 5.56 right in the face. He had so much good shit. He didn't even need my stuff. To that dude: If you are going to rob someone in a military building, you better come correct with guns blazing. Why in the hell would I possibly drop my gun and submit to you?

It's 30 seconds dude. Find a spot away from loot and or zombie spawns and log out. Hell have a buddy watch your back while you log out and take turns on each other. . . kinky. The timer sucked in the mod. People just camped with the timer constantly running all the time. This fix is awesome. I played the new system all night with no problems.

Damn Rocket! You zee man. I played the experimental branch all night and I love it. At one point my character looked so unique. In other words, I know I will never have that combination of clothes and items on again as long as I play this game, so much variety already. And it is still Alpha!

Played the experimental branch all night. Awesome changes. Why do the servers restart so often? One of them was restarting every five minutes. I'm sure it's to test restarts and spawn points or something I was just curious.

What about the countless amount of other scenarios that could happen? What if your buddy watches your back while you log out and it's perfectly fine? What if some dude tries to log out when you legitimately surprise him looting a barrack and you smoke him and take his stuff? What about the hundreds of times you log out in the woods and nothing bad happens at all? What about the fact that Rocket has already mentioned a different system that will be enabled after tents and camps are set up? What about the game being in alpha? What about the fact that this solution deals with one of the number one complaints that people have about DayZ?

I hope you learned at least this: "immagine you are in combat. a Ghost can take cover and wait for the 30s cooldown you propose. then change server and move to another spot. wait for the another 30s cooldown, and then logging back at your side and shoot you. in the current state a "wannabe-ghost" is forced to leave his character unharmed for the 30s. it will not solve the problem completly, but give you a possibility to shoot that mofo down before he can "swap-server-logback"

Also, if you play with friends just have them watch your back. Take turns being the last one to log out.

I do not understand people like this. You're the guy that's always like, "This is gonna go wrong and this is gonna go wrong and this is gonna go wrong and then this and then probably that, definitely that..." ad infinitum. Wait for it to be implemented, try it out, you're probably going to love it. Because right now, you sound like a very very whiny combat logger who is tossing his toys out of the pram due to his exploit being removed.

Hello All, I logged this officially into the bug tracker here : http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=7449 Please vote and contribute useful information there. Basically since the most recent patch. When looting dead corpses, items appear in the corpses inventory and the looting players inventory simultaneously. I also had a friend loot the same item from a corpse and when he did this, the item disappeared from my inventory and then appeared in his and the corpses inventory. Just curious if anyone else has seen this and possibly has a more in depth understanding of what is going on. Thanks!

Of course you can exploit it. You'll just see players sitting on their asses everywhere all the time. It happened all the time in the mod. Find a safe place to log out. There are literally thousands of them. If you can't find a spot to hide your character for thirty seconds you're doing it wrong. I could do it on a 40/40 server in between the runways at NWAF. . . and I will ;)

Yes I really don't understand why people are fighting this so much. You haven't even tried it yet. Also, this is the way it is so deal with it or leave the game. Waiting for the timer sucked in the mod. Find a good hiding spot, the map is huge, I guarantee I will never be killed when logging out. Because I log out in safe places.

There is not one place that I log out where I would be in danger. That's just part of my game. I find a very nice spot to hide away from zombie and loot spawns and log out. This is the way I do it now. This is the way I'll do it with the timer. I predict that I will be completely fine. People who log out in the middle of towns or lootable areas are going to have problems. . . just like they do now. I think it's a good first step and it can always be fixed later. I also think that OP's suggestion would have been a fine alternative, but more ripe for exploits. This patch's solution is extreme and should change the way people play the game. That's what we were hoping for and that's what we're going to get. No offense OP but I hate when people complain about features that they haven't even tried. Could you wait until the patch is pushed to stable before ranting next time?

Yes, this is why I always hide bodies after looting now. Also, I reported this officially on the bug tracker but the bug hasn't been acknowledged yet. I'm assuming that's because they already know about it and are working on it.

This is hilarious. One of the guys I play with was asking me to quote these lines over and over again last night. Apparently I sound just like a young Bill Paxton from Alien.

There are tons of berets. They are literally everywhere, blue, red, black, and green. Berries on the other hand. . . I have yet to see them. I'm thinking the far northern and western edges in the deep forest.
