I understand what you're saying. I just think there has to be a way to alleviate some of the mind-numbingly-boring-repetitive tasks that are involved. I'm not opposed to the game becoming increasingly harder for veterans either.

Hate to burst your bubble, but a lot of private servers already give custom loadouts to paying customers.

Yeah, I like all this. What if the "earned" items could not be removed from inventory? Say it's only items that go into the dedicated slots at the bottom. Does that make sense?

Damnit! How do I add a giff to one of these things?

So would this skill bonus reset upon death or be persistent. I really like where you're going with this just curious.

I guess what I'm getting at is the fact that once you've played the game for a hundred hours, the act of retrieving a map isn't adding anything to the game. Not always 100% true, but for the most part, it's just grinding.

Wow, you've been gone for over four months. Did they have electricity back then? Was the world actually in black and white or do the pictures just make it seem that way? Please tell us more oh bard from the bygone ages. -

Well said Haywire. I'm glad to report that I've passed through my stage of whining about the standalone "delay". I completely agree with everything said here.I've heard people say they won't play SA until cars are in the game. I say that's their loss. Last night I ran from Kamenka to my dead body near Willow Lake. Almost starved to death and was saved by the Polana supermarket. It was very similar to my early playing experiences except that I know the map a little better now. It was so great. I haven't felt as rewarded in a game as when I got to the lake and saw my ATV and my body there. This is the greatest game I've every played and it's only a mod. I cannot wait for the the standalone to come out but I gladly will. I know I've gotten a bit off topic but what I'm getting at is this. Great works of art have always caused controversy. This game is an amazing work of art. So to all those who have found me prickly in the past, I sincerely apologize. I've never been involved with a better group of folks than the ones who surround this game. I love being able to log on here and find something so insightful as Haywire's last comment. I support this thing no matter what and I can't wait to see you all online the first day that SA is released. I have a feeling it's going to be amazing. -
I didn't see a thread on this anywhere and was wondering what players think about the use of skype (or other outside game chat services) in the game. I've played with groups that use and also been the only one out of twenty on a server not using it. There's really no question that it's an unfair advantage. I think the game would be better without it, but I was wondering what you all thought. Does it ruin the immersion for you?

Players should develop Mental illness

Here's the only thing to be done about bandits. Get a crew together, get highly organized, and hunt them down like the opportunistic dogs they are. Hopefully they'll get organized as well and then you'll have a truly amazing DayZ experience. Most fun I've had in DayZ was organizing an intense elimination of a bandit group. The group consisted of seven to ten kids who all killed on sight and caused much grief, especially to new players on our server. We planted a very brave mole, noted all their base coordinates, and after a week of cat and mouse, destroyed or took everything they had gathered and systematically killed them all. -

I want the next devblog to be a ten minute video of the new zombies running around doing what they do. That would satiate me for at least two months. I've watched that small little clip like ten times, they look awesome!! -

Noted and I apologize for coming off like that. But, he didn't react with an opposite opinion, he ridiculed me by saying "it ruined my life too". If he would have said "well I thought it was awesome" I wouldn't have even responded. I haven't systematically gone through here and dogged everyone who enjoyed it. I'm happy they did, but by mocking me by saying "it ruined my life" pissed me off.In all honesty, I think the whole idea of the devblogs should be reconsidered. I feel like most of them have been forced and probably add an unneeded stress to the DayZSA project. I guess I'm continually disappointed because they originally said they would come out weekly. They rarely do, so that leads me to think "oh wow, I bet it's gonna be really cool because it's taking longer" but in reality, no one on the team has the time or energy to put into it. I work for a decent size e-commerce company and I know a forced project when I see one. In other words, I don't need a devblog. I would honestly be happy just waiting for the game. What is said at my company is this... "Always under promise and over deliver." It is a tried and true customer service philosophy. When you set peoples expectations higher than what you can deliver you're gonna have problems. I know they want us all to think that it's right around the corner and SO much work is being done lest we all forget about DayZ SA, but that's not what would happen. The mod is amazing, I trust them to create a wonderful project and I know that it takes time... a lot of time. People would move on temporarily and then be STOKED when the game comes out polished. These forced efforts make me feel like they are insecure with their work or worse inept. So as far as what would coincide with my expectations, I'm not sure how to answer that. I feel like the DayZ SA team sets my expectations. They said there would be weekly devblogs showing the progress of the game. I don't even know what to say about the release date at this point blah blah blah. Just quit saying when it's "going to be reviewed". Say 2013 and be done with it, or 2014 for that matter. Anyway, a bit of a ramble but the gist is this... ALWAYS under promise and over deliver ALWAYS, especially in a customer service / marketing situation. -

I think you mean Dallas. That guy knocks every damn comment I make on these forums. I responded to the question with MY OPINION which, last I heard, I'm still entitled to and he comes back with his normal trite bullshit and bashes me because I don't praise everything that they put before us. -

I didn't say it ruined my life. I just said what it is. If that video is seriously your idea of entertainment, you need a new hobby. -

PAX stuff, mostly regurgitated from earlier blog. Good luck making it through it, the camera work is terrible and its mostly unedited interview stuff with horrible audio. By horrible I mean, you can always hear at least three people talking in the back ground. -

It was basically a regurgitation of the PAX stuff except with shittier video quality. Oh, and a picture of a large ship with a lot of interior play space. Ship looks good, video was crap. -
