Arma 3 DayZ is getting better and better. Plus, Arma 3 blows the DayZ mod OUT OF THE WATER! I can't imagine the standalone being better than Arma 3 due to the weakness of the ToH engine compared to the new Arma 3 engine. Why not just get Arma 3 and forget about DayZ standalone? Also: Radios in DayZ: Blah Radios in Arma 3: Holy shit I'm IN COMBAT. Shoes in DayZ: Blah. Seriously, do you realize how long it takes a pair of shoes to wear out. Years. Roles in DayZ: Meh,unless your born into the role with each new spawn because realistically if you aren't a helicopter pilot, you aren't becoming one after the zombie apocalypse.

It arrived in the mail yesterday and states specifically that "the game will be released this fall". So is Wired magazine wrong, or is this another "miscommunication"?

By "spent months working on the dayz engine" I'm assuming you mean, switching to the Take On Helicopters engine right? Because as far as I know that is the engine that SA will use. Edit: Also, my prediction and the whole arma 3 switch comment was supposed to be funny. I have no idea when the game will come out.

I say holiday season 2014. Once they decide to switch to the ARMA 3 engine that should give them plenty of time.

Here's my devblog prediction: They've decided to use the superior ARMA 3 engine after all. We can expect a holiday 2014 release. The server architecture is done, well except that it's not... at all. There's a lot of games similar to dayz in development. A game that I'm really interested in lately is called The Forest. I think it's up on Steam for green light. I've been playing a ton of KSP. Good god that game is fun. I plan on digging in for some ARMA III and Legend of Grimrock this weekend. Sorry, I just created my new avatar so I had to post something.
