Don't you mean it's not even in "alpher" yet? I'm not trying to be nit picky, just saying.
-
I'm installing Project Zomboid as we speak. Seem pretty cool. I figure SA is at least a couple weeks away, might as well give it a spin.
-
No, I mean privately held. It's not going to be like arma 2 where just anyone can host a server. All servers will be through steam initially. That means you personally will not be able to host a public server until later in the development. This has been confirmed.
-
I was under the assumption that private servers weren't going to be happening until later on in the development. I know rocket said this, I just can't seem to find it.
-
Is the server load really going to be a problem with steam hosting the SA? I realize that's probably a stupid question but I'm being serious.

I wasn't gonna kill you, just carve a little Z in your forehead. God damn what a bummer.

Plus, I think the release of any title is pretty much an all hands on deck scenario. There's almost always an update to fix something within the first few hours of a release.
-
It's back up. It was down for a minute there as if there was a possible update or something but apparently not.

Dudes, is this it?!? Let's keep this train a rolling!!!! Seems to be down, could they be unleashing the beast?!? http://steamdb.info/app/221100/#section_history

I know it's ridiculous right. Supposedly the guy who wrote it works for BIS. http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1q6z79/sa_someone_please_translate/

What about this craziness? These are the lyrics from the Guns N Roses song Night Train. Supposedly it says something about November 8th and release. This is the twilight zone. http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1q6z79/sa_someone_please_translate/

No offense to anyone here, I love you all and this has been entertaining, but for crying out loud, can someone who ACTUALLY knows something say something relevant here? XO

Hopefully you all find this to be on topic. It's a great article on game development. I haven't seen something quite as in depth and concise. Enjoy! http://www.davidmidgley.net/2012/01/how-game-writing-is-the-same-as-but-totally-different-from-all-other-disciplines/

Jesus god, I hadn't been on for a few hours and when I came back, I seriously thought it was released.
-
Ha! Yeah, I've been able to get so much done without DayZ in my life. My girlfriend is going to be in for a rude awakening.
-
I have to agree. I actually can't wait to experience how amazingly difficult this game is going to be. Honestly, I'm looking forward to those little bugs and glitches that come along with alpha play. It's always a badge of honor to say, "Oh, yeah, well I remember when tents actually ate you and you had to walk up hill in the snow ALL the time!" It makes one feel like a hardened veteran.

Krampus!!!!!!! We need more krampus in the states.

It seems from monitoring this http://bit.ly/192bwvW that players are either not living much longer than thirty minutes (which equals AWESOME in my opinion) or they are getting kicked every so often. Thoughts?

Is this for real? I don't know what to believe anymore. I want to play so bad and I've really been behaving myself lately though that's due to meditative exercises and changes in my personal life, but still. I'm setting myself up to be trolled here but could someone tell me how to play if this is for real? I love you all! I kid I kid.

I'm killing time watching Battle Star Gallactica... all of it.

So, is it definitely going to happen on a Tuesday or could it be any day of the week?
-
Exactly. The first time I played DayZ, I spawned with nothing in the pitch of night with only a vague idea of what the game even was. I literally crawled for three hours in the darkness and died of thirst. It was the best gaming experience I've ever had. Honestly, I was a bit fed up with games when I found DayZ. This community has led me to a lot of amazing games and renewed my interest in gaming as a whole.

Now it's just Matt. Seems odd.
