exstensive list of suggestions for SA
Dr. Goner replied to DropBearChick's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think non traditional "vehicles" used to transport gear would be awesome. Shopping carts, wheelbarrow's, etc. I'm sure it's been mentioned. -
There's a specific section in Russian for the questions you're asking. Also, how in the hell are you "seeing by butt?" My GF says I have my head up my ass but I usually can't see when that's the case.
-
I hate to be the one to break this to you, but he posted this on Reddit first. He loves this forum though. Seems like they're getting really close fellas! I'm pumped to start DayZ for the first time again!

Ah man, I feel like crap now, good luck with it man. I'm just going to be driving for hours to stuff my face with boredom and turkey while watching my brother's kids beat the hell out of each other. Hold on a minute, who has it worse again?

I would be really happy if it came out this week. I have one more free weekend before holiday obligations begin. If I don't buy it this week, I'm afraid I'm going to be forced to watch from the sidelines until after the new year. That's going to be painful considering I've been following development for almost a year. It's been fun though.

I think it would be interesting if they broke down what the thirty member team is working on. For example this week: 10 artists worked on food items 10 programmers worked on character creation bug 10 coffee interns got coffee and did blow in the toilet. I don't feel like they owe us any info at all, but occasionally I get the feeling that Rocket is the only one working on stuff and I know that isn't the case. I like how KSP does it. Every week they break it down and show what team members are doing what. It's a nice personal touch and keeps me checking in from time to time. Thanks!

I think I have deja vu. Didn't we talk about the fact that Steam is hosting servers and it won't be an issue also when the bugs fixed Rocket presses the button and it's out, last month? I can't remember anymore. Every week someone says it'll be here next week. It's been going on since July. No offense, but I don't think anyone knows at this point. That Snoww guy, who is a tester, said 100% by 2014 but I don't think Rocket or anyone has spoken to the issue in months. EDIT: Specific dates that is. I know Rocket has stated that it's out when this latest bug is fixed. But then there was another bug, so I'm not even sure what bug they are on at this point. I think it's a crash occurring during character creation.

FRAGGLE!!!!!! You're back.

This should keep us all busy for at least a hundred hours right? http://cachemonet.com/

No loot confirmed in standalone.

So they killed you and took your stuff? Those Russian basterds.

I like how they do "child" zombies in project zomboid. There is no animation for them, in other words you'll never see a child zombie or bash it's head in, but every so often you hear their childlike groans. It's really weird. A LOT can be done with sound.

I hope you realize your logic is a bit flawed considering the BIS's release date record that I posted above. I'm sticking with what Rocket has said. When the performance is there, the game will be released. It could be any day of the week. Hell, they are so immersed and passionate about this thing right now, I doubt they know what day of the week it currently is! On this type of project, working weekends is a given. Even if it comes out on a Tuesday, I bet this whole team knows they have some serious midnight/weekend oil to burn for the first couple weeks at the least. I mean, they're working until 2AM and on weekends most of the time now. EDIT: Also, I like to picture you yelling all your posts due to the use of (!). Please tell me you are yelling constantly.
-
I don't buy into the Tuesday formula. I'm waiting patiently and I can't see it coming out before next week, but I would be pleasantly surprised if it did. Here's a list of BIS titles and their perspective "early access" released by day of the week. Arma II = Thursday Take on Helicopters = Friday Arma III = Tuesday Take on Mars = Thursday EDIT: I'm an idiot, that actually took me a while to figure out but here's a link to do it yourself. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bohemia_Interactive

I'm not reading into them that much. Though, it's hard to ignore the fact that, today, an hour after the update they suddenly had 25 people on. Which is the most that have been on in a week. It's hard to ignore that, if for no other reason beside the fact that we know a larger test will come before release.

Oh man, this looks good. https://twitter.com/Hicks_206/status/401018616864178176/photo/1

Also, this is what it looks like when the hype train meets the actual standalone release! EDIT: I don't mean that as a crash. It's just a fun image. That dude f'n bails out!!
-
They're at 25, let's see what happens dudes!! http://steamdb.info/graph/221100/ EDIT: I don't care about people giving me a hard time about monitoring the test server status. It's fun as hell!
-
They just did another update. Can't wait to see that player count spike again. Keep up the good work dudes!

Introducing some team members - Matt Lightfoot

As a fellow operations manager, I have to say, it's usually our employees that drive us to this type of behavior. -
Do it. I don't regret it at all. Fifteen bucks, I spend that on a mediocre movie at the theater, this will provide you with hours and hours of entertainment. The health system is complex. I can't wait to get off work and play it again tonight.
-
The peak was last week at 29 players. They haven't gotten close to that this week as far as I can tell. I hope the test is right around the corner. Seems like a weekend would be a good time for a test that large. It would be easier to get everyone available at the same time. Not sure though.

I picked up Project Zomboid per Rocket's recommendation. It is really really good. It's hard as hell. Can't wait to see what the NPCs add to the game.

Off topic but I just. can't. help it. This should give all you wonderful geeks something to focus on for at least two minutes while we wait on this bad-ass-mofo-tojo game to arrive. Enjoy. http://geektyrant.com/news/pokemon-themed-ladies-panties EDIT: Pokemon was after my time so I didn't really play it.
