That is quite helpful, to get those files in your %appdata%/local Files, do you have to run the game at least once? Or should they appear instantly from installation on steam?

Bump, really need assistance on this.

Ok, I'll give you some inofmation about my system. I5 2500K gtx 660 ti 8gb of Ram. 120gb SSD, and a 1TB HDD. A quick question I have, how do you unistall Directx? And by Installing directx again you mean from windows or the actual ARMA 2 file? I cannot seem to find the armaA2OA.rpt file you was speaking about, there seems to be NOTHING in my local or roaming folders, no Arma 2 OA, no nothing. The problem is I have no idea what to do, since whenever i Install the directX from the actual arma files there is always an Internal problem. Starting the game from the launcher will result in it saying x3daudio1_6.dll is not designed to run on windows. The basic problem is as followed - I have typed this same problem into google, and the problem that i have never seems to be solved, however similar ones are. "Arma 2 failing to start after DirectX I just downloaded arma 2 combined operations from steam during the sale so i can play the Day Z mod. Unfortunately Arma 2 doesn't start after installing direct X. I click play in my Steam library and a box appears saying "performing first time setup... Installing: Microsoft DirectX for Windows (step 1 of 1) After this box eventually dissapears nothing happens. I have tried reinstalling it three times and reinstalling steam totally but the problem persists. I have ran as admin and tried to remove the directX file from the arma 2 folder in steam yet this only stops anything happening at all. Any assistance would be much appreciated."

Run what as admin exactly? It always trys to install Directx, as i'm running it for the first time.

Nothing. Anything else? As i cannot even run ARMA at this point in time.
-
So you want me to just run that? I have done this step before. Do i have to run it as admin?

Hello, I have created this post as i Do not know where else to turn to. I have followed multiple suggestions from google, but nothing has worked. When I run on steam a window flashes up, stating it is installing Directx. After this is done, steam shows i am playing arma II, having a green name, however no game window pops up, and then steam states that I am then not playing the game, it goes back to blue. I have gone into the files of ARMA and tried to run the Directx install, and it states i always have an Internal error. I have tried running in safe mode to fix this problem and it never works. I have updated my Directx, but still have this error. Without this problem being fixed, I cannot play ARMA. When I go to the arma launcher within the files, it claims that a file named x3daudio1_6.dll is not designed to run on windows. Can anyone help me with this problem? I really want to install and play this mod.
