I just had an idea, I want to share: What if there was a second texture, with fresher blood (brighter red). If a player gets attacked or killed by zombies in any area, the zombies spawning in the vicinity (200m?) within maybe half an hour, would spawn with the fresh blood texture. Then you could tell by looking at the zombies, if a player has recently encountered these zombies. Is this even possible? Do you think, the idea has any merits?

Forget it, simulating psychological effects in a game like this would suck. This game should, and I'm sure, it could, use the psyche of the player in order to get him to choose not to kill players, unless he has to. This game already manages to provoke emotions in the players. I came to this game because of the stories they told in forums and such. Thoses stories are quite often quite emotional. Fear, anger, surprise, happiness. Just watch a random Let's Play of someone playing for the first few times. It's funny and interesting. I also remember the first time I killed someone ingame. It didn't make me go mad, no, but it did provoke some thinking on my part. Something I don't expect from computer games. And you don't get a game that does that all too often. The last one that really did something to me, was Mass Effect. The choices you have to make there, are really hard. Because you actually like the ficticious characters. So, what I mean with all this brabbling is the following. This game should aim towards creating a disincentive that is not coded, but lies somewhat out of the game. Don't code penalties for certain actions a player takes. Give him more to consider before killing someone else. Maybe more customization could help already. If it's not the same player model you shoot, but someone who looks like an individual person, this might already deterr some players from killing them. Or make surviving harder, so that you just can't afford to shoot everyone you see. These would be more indirect disincentives. Unlike some shaky screen if you kill someone, that represents your psychological state. That would break all immersion. And it wouldn't be realistic either. Not everyone deals with death the same way. The bandit skin wasn't all too bad, I have to say in hindsight. It got you thinking about killing someone, because a bandit skin meant getting shot on sight, whereas as a survivor, your chances were much better. But it is more of a coded and direct disincentive. But your suggestion is much worse in that regard. I would strongly dislike a feature like this.

I guess I agree. If everyone pretty much has to run around with crappy weapons, you'll consider twice, before engaging in a firefight. And as you said, more end game content might keep players from getting bored and not just pvp for that reason. But you know, this is still alpha and the game has still a long way to go. So don't expect too much from the next few patches. I'm sure, rocket is aware of all this.

This video explains, how to change your weapons. Always FROM the backpack TO THE inventory. So far, I never lost a weapon switching like that. (Once the weapon in the backpack became the same as the on in the inventory, but that was due to an unrelated bug) -

What about introducing beards? The longer you are alive, the more hair is growing in your face. That would be awesome. Maybe you could even shave using your hunting knife. (MUSTACHE!) -

There is storage in buses. Get in, ride in the back, klick "m", then select "Units" and click on "Gear".

Yes, vehicles are bound to the server they spawned on. Just like tents. Also, don't park your vehicle too close to your camp or you might lose both.

Also, zombies don't spawn, when you drive through a city. So, you could drive up to a supermarket, turn off the engine (!) and get out. A few seconds later, zombies will spawn, so be careful. Once you turn on your engine again, zombies will chase you from all over the town, so park the car in a way, you can get out of town quickly. You can shake off the zombies easily, since your car is much faster than they can run. But if you're stuck, they will eat you. Do not bump into things. Save the vehicle every time, you get out.

Ok, we found out the time exactly (mate switched TS channel shortly afterwards to check if someone from another channel was at the tents): 19:08 plus minus 10 minutes. -
Aw, shit, that hurt. I agree, at some point in time, those sounds should be changed. Maybe in a few months ;)

Fuck it, your server is filled with cheaters. They know exactly where you are, and can teleport themselves. Oh, forgot to mention, he/they is/are invincible. Shot one guy with a full mag, he didn't even give a fuck. Just teleported away, and came back with a heli 3 minutes later, landed next to our tents, and was still invincible. We had to log out and move our camp to a different server. This wasn't even the first time, I met this guy. We all encountered him several times already. So the server has become unplayable for us. Sorry. Unfortunately, I don't know, who this guy is, since there is no way to tell... -
+1 Sure, it might not be something rocket wants to add, but since I always play with mates, I'd like to see a feature like this. Right now it is impossible to travel around in larger groups and engage other players without the danger of shooting your own mates. In reality you'd be able to recognize your group members. This doesn't work in DayZ though. Either a group system like you propose or more customization of clothing etc. Rocket already confirmed the latter though. He said something along the lines of armbands. But don't put shiny icons over a players head please. We need to figure out a way of marking your friends without breaking too much of the immersion. Maybe combine this with rockets idea: Give your groupmembers a colored armband only your group can see. Something like that.

Do we really need silenced weapons in DayZ? I don't think so. They are such a huge advantage, it makes the game almost too easy. So please stop asking for more silenced weapons. This is a zombie survival game, not a military shooter.

I like the idea. As one said, if done right, this could be a good feature. -
It's so easy to lose zombies by running through buildings and around corners for a while. Especially the buildings with two entrances come in quite handy. But of course you are running around. However, since you have nothing to lose, a death isn't quite that bad. You just lose 5-10 minutes. Spawning with nothing hasn't been a problem so far, for me. Sure, zombies might drain me down to 7k blood, but I've always managed to find a weapon and some ammo. It has gotten harder, yes, but I actually don't mind the new spawn system. I voted against it, first. But I had to change my mind. So, I don't think we need a weapon when spawning. If there are a lot of players who desperately want one, though, I wouldn't really mind either. I just don't care. Either way is fine for me.
