Yeah I would like to believe that, and it's not impossible to survive, but there are other signs of it being a loot bug. For example, I've NEVER seen so many damn watches in my life! I mean, Jesus, they're everywhere! -

I think it's just a bug. It hasn't happened to me yet but I have a feeling it may have something to do with the Beta Patch for Arma... A lot of people are complaining about weird things like no Debug monitor, spawning in strange places, etc. But I believe it's because of the Beta patch, because otherwise those who are complaining in-game WOULDN'T be talking in Side channel... So, make sure you're running the latest Beta patch before you try joining a server. -

Oh no, no. I don't think this would work as well with anymore than one. Two, Maybe...? But this is perfect for the evasion of one zombie for sure, and that alone is worth gold in many situations. -

Every YouTuber and their cocksucker subscribers are doing spotlight videos on DayZ now. Just a few minutes ago Rooster Teeth put up a video of it. Within the next few days as more and more people see the mod I swear it's going to quadruple in players. I don't know what the servers are going to do but if Rocket doesn't coordinate a Queue system for the servers we're fucked.

I personally have not played on a 1.7.1 server, but don't worry I'm not here to complain. I am making an observation at those who are complaining and or pointing out flaws with the update. Here's what I'm seeing: It's too dark No Makarov at spawn sucks Zombies' LOS is failing (More ways than one) Now, I asked myself why so many people were complaining about the dark all of a sudden... Because the Beta patch is mandatory now! Of course. This issue is not because of the DayZ devs, gamma goggles don't work right now and it will probably be fixed in a future Beta patch. There's no weapons for newly spawned players because it was too easy with the Makarov. That is to say, it was too easy with the old zombies. By easy, I mean that they weren't spotting you from across a field while you were prone. Spawning without a weapon is a great mechanic, it makes the game harder and it makes life more meaningful. But spawning without a weapon is what everyone is blaming because the zombies have 'spider senses'. I've heard that at night the zombies are too easy to avoid... I've heard that they can see you from a mile away if they look at you... I've heard that if you stay behind them, you could slap their ass and they wouldn't even care. But right now I feel that if the zombies' Line Of Sight is repaired to work properly, then everything will fall into balance and people will be a lot happier, even if they don't have their precious Makarov.

Seriously? Who is running this server? The thing hasn't been reset in days! Joining takes a minimum of 3 minutes just from Receiving Data. Not to mention that I'm receiving 4 frames per second while in the server. Server Admins, MAKE SURE YOUR SERVERS ARE RESET PERIODICALLY!

From what I've read here, all of us have the same goal. We want to nullify the deathmatch that the game is becoming. The problem is how can we deter people from shooting on sight? Bandits, sure. But survivors would surely hold fire unless they had to. So that brings us to this thread. How can we enact consequences upon those who kill, but only those who kill for fun? This is the problem. You could kill in self defense, or kill for survival needs as well... Clearly, most sane people would kill for these two reasons and not murder themselves from nightmares; they would be mentally stable afterwards. The issue is how can the game tell the difference? There's really no way to incorporate a system that asks the player how they felt when they killed the guy. So I really don't see any way that this can work. If the game can't detect it, and if it isn't fair for people with different reasons to kill, then I don't see how it can exist! -

I have a feeling they'll be back though. Unless the server operators are dicks enough to just leave without mentioning, "Oh yeah, it's down for good, sorry." I'm betting the server is being maintained or upgraded. Maybe new hardware, who knows.

I don't think there's any way for someone to give us our vehicles back. I took the liberty of taking the rare items out of the vehicles specifically in case this kind of thing happened, but still... I would like my vehicles back.

Oh definitely. Fast, 4 door, big inventory, decent offroad. I love it as an all-around vehicle.

We played on Seattle 14 briefly.. Found the Hatchback as well and bumped a fence with it. It exploded and killed my buddy and I as well. I hate that Hatchback...

Lets see.. Ural, Old Hatchback, Military Offroad, ATV, Tractor. I named the Tractor Eugene, and my buddies named the Hatchback the Hoopty, because it sucks so bad. I couldn't have gotten all the other trucks working without Eugene! :P My First vehicle :heart:

Of course, but I'm thinking about both sides. Sure, I don't care if I die when I'm selling the car, I'll make sure I have nothing to lose on me. But what about the person buying? If there's a bunch of people standing there with guns, what will they think? Trading items is one thing, but a vehicle has condition, mobility, etc. If a player looking to buy were to question the vehicle's condition, there's no way for them to ensure it's fine unless they get in, which would jeopardize the legitimacy of the trade. Maybe the seller could pop a tire and then repair it before the buyer leaves? I have no idea. But someone needs to make a standard outline as to how a vehicle trade would take place before we try it. WRITE! -
I say no. Nobody can live forever and any item that a player obtains will be destroyed eventually.
