    hmm... It was flashing for me earlier yesterday without any zombies chasing and nobody was shooting...

    I haven't been playing dayz for a while (about 2 months) and am extremely confused with the pistol symbol. It just seems to flash red at the strangest of times and I have absolutely no idea what it means.

    I fixed this myself earlier today by going to ArmA 2 OA and ArmA 2's .exe files and set them both to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode. Then, I went to my documents folder, and opened the ArmA 2 folder where ArmA2.cfg and ArmA2OA.cfg are, and changed these values: GPU_MaxFramesAhead GPU_DetectedFramesAhead to be =1 I think that just setting the win7 compatibility mode will work, but I did both before trying just one or the other. I now have absolutely no problems playing, even in maxed out settings. I really hope this works for you.
