DayZ Like Game iOS & Android Devices!
Bigrayne replied to xTwisteDx (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Good luck. The devs really have nothing to gain by giving some random guy rights to the DayZ name. Might want to stick to the name you created -
Free DayZ StandAlone TeamSpeak @ 37.187.195.75 - ZombieWorld.eu -- SA Server is up !!!
Bigrayne replied to U.G.N - Jedi Panda's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Name: SpicyWeiner - Location: USA - GUID: bc258793ec8c340bcb0d7a1c3155a78f Reason for being here: I've been looking for a good private hive I can call home. I used to be dedicated to another server, but it's population declined to the point where it's no longer fun. I would love to find a good server with a great admin, great community, and a great experience. I am hoping this server can offer those things. -
Hell's Hideout (Chernarus, 24/7 Day) - Great Server, Great Community, Great Mod.
Bigrayne posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I just wanted to reach out to the DayZ community and put in a good word for a server i'm playing on "Hell's Hideout". I've been playing on this server since I bought ARMA II and this is still my favorite server. I thought many of you would be interested in knowing about this server because i'm sure many have never heard of it. Below are a few features that really stand out to me and keep me coming back every time I play the game: Best map in the game: Chernarus 24/7 Daytime Great Community - Good bandit/survivor mix. Automatic resets every 8 hours. Whitelisted to keep the script kiddies out. An excellent moderator whom logs in every now and then and rolls back the server on the rare chance a hacker slips through. Custom buildings in Kamenka and other small towns to make it a little more interesting. Those are just a few facts about the server that I really think help make this one stand out. If anyone is interested please visit the link below and follow the steps to get whitelisted. http://wickedgamer.com/BB2/index.php?topic=6.0 IGN: Spicyweiner if anyone wants to group up once their in :) -
Thanks for the feedback! They really do. I think when I get the resources to build a helicopter i'll fly rescue missions. Ill stock up on med supplies and fly around the map helping people in need. This car is a great start to building up my supplies :) Got a ton of car parts in it so far.

I'll get right to it... I log in and immediately someone on the server offered to pick me up in his chopper. (I know what you're thinking.. no I didn't steal the chopper). I asked him to drop me off in Elektro. I parachute out and start looting the town. Around 20 minutes later, I hear and see the small camo jeep (name slips my mind) drive by me while im looting the school. He drives off, I don't hear him anymore, I continue looting. I'm now in one of the coffee houses close to the school and I hear the nice helicopter taxi again. Soon afterwards I hear the jeep as it rushes by me. I then hear gunshots, and a lot of them. The building beside me is getting pummeled by bullets (perhaps from the chopper?). My heart is racing, im laying on the floor and the jeep passes me again. I go by the window and watch the jeep drive up onto the hill north of the city and park hidden within the trees. I then leave the coffee shop and head back into the school to observe. As the chopper makes a few passes I hear an M107 firing rounds at the chopper. I then leave the school and head in the direction of the vehicle. Using binoculars I look in the general direction of the sniper shots and I see two people, one with the sniper, the other with a heavy looking machine gun. Eventually I sneak around them to their flank and approach the jeep. I'm maybe 60 ft. away when I hear a loud explosion and the helicopter crashing to the ground. The sniper got the pilot! I then see them both rushing to the jeep, one gets in, the sniper in a ghillie suit stays behind. Thinking my chances are over I start sneaking towards the sniper when I hear the jeep returning. I duck into the bushes and he parks roughly 20 ft away. I start thinking im screwed at this point and pull out my pistol ready to take him out and try to get away before his sniper buddy kills me. The player is being attacked by zombies and runs up to his friend. This is now my chance. I run to the jeep as a zombie sees me and starts chasing me down. I hop in, turn the car around and start driving as fast as I can to the nearest road. I hear gunshots but no bullets hit the jeep or around me.. I think they were firing at someone in Elektro. I reach the road and i'm home free! I have about 1/6th of a tank left, I find a Jerry can in a nearby town and refill it to full. Now I am enjoying my first car in the game :) I believe I hid that thing pretty well, hopefully it's there when I get back. Moral of the story: If some guy is actually being nice and taxiing people around the map in his brand new chopper, don't be a dickhead and shoot him down when you won't get the chopper anyway. Thanks for reading.

Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?
Bigrayne replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
I disagree. Windows 8 is more optimized than W7 and you can easily restore the traditional start menu. It runs just fine on PCs -
Sick of spending hours to be killed by hackers? Tired of crappy admins? Forget all that and join our server!
Bigrayne replied to 2gunz's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
This server is great! I've been playing for a couple of days and it's been a lot of fun. Great community, great admins, no hackers. Definitely recommended. -

Bigrayne replied to Bigrayne's topic in New Player Discussion
This post appears a bit biased but he does have some good points. The developing team isn't the greatest (to say the least). There are a TON of hackers. I know there is the argument where "It's not a hacker! You just suck!"... but no they really are hackers. I'd say a good 40% of people i've died from were hackers. The gameplay does get a bit dull. There isn't much to do once you have a sizable inventory stash (global inventory: allows transfer of items to other characters and servers) except pvp.. which gets old too. Micro-transactions are pretty dumb but IMO after you buy something with real money you lose it quickly enough anyway from some bandit team, so what's the point? Overall I wouldn't recommend getting it until it's had more time to develop (if it even does). edit: spawn time is 1 hour after death - not 4. Hammer takes 3-4 hits in the head to kill a Zombie or a player. There IS one tiny map. -

Yeah I live in the US but thank you, I appreciate your help! I'll definitely be checking out the Boot Camp before playing DayZ. To be honest, I did enjoy WarZ at first. I've never played a game like that before and I did get intimidated the first few times I was shot at. I used to be one of the guys on the forums who said "I never see any hackers, I dont know what you guys are talking about." However, now it's a whole different story. It's gotten to the point where I pull a rifle out of my global, run around, kill some people, get killed - be minus one rifle. Rinse and repeat. It got old and the fear of dying was completely gone. -

For the amount of money I spent on it (18 bucks on steam right now) If I get 1.5-2 months i'll be very happy. I mean 18 bucks will get a movie ticket, pop corn, and a drink.. and that only lasts 2.5 hours tops. -

Sounds good. I just purchased ARMA II, Octagon you twisted my arm when you said it was on sale :) It's getting a little late here but I guess tomorrow I will look into learning the controls and then finding a good server :) -

Thanks for the great advice. I think some things id like to learn the "easy way" are: Do items travel with you from server to server? Or should I find one server and stick to it? Also would you recommend private servers? -

Bigrayne replied to Bigrayne's topic in New Player Discussion
Trust me its getting worse. I was hoping WarZ would be more of a survival game than what it is. The more I play it the more I find myself just running around looking for people to kill. Do you have any suggestions for a new player? Thank you. -

Hey guys, I was totally into the idea of this zombie survival game and was about to buy ARMA when I found out about WarZ... well it didn't quite turn out as I thought it would. SO what I am wondering from the experts is: How do you like DayZ? I've heard a lot about DayZ is full of hackers and from my own research it does look like it has a bit of a learning curve. Could anyone make any recommendations on if I should purchase the game/how you would recommend I start playing the game so I do not get turned off on a first impression? Thank you.
