Not entirely sure what this goes under, i thought i'd play it safe and stick it here, but aplogies if this is wrong. Seenas there is just over 2 hours left on the Holiday steam sales, i have some excess christmas money to spend and i've heard on one of frankies videos that purchasing this expansion pack improves weapon and character models. Is this true? If i am mistaken, do any of Arma 2's epacks include better textures for day z? To give this thread some discussion value, Would you say this is worth £3.99? Thanks in advance!

I like this idea. My friends and i had a joke based on how the Arma 2 NPCS pronounce "Grisinio" (That town just left of the NWAF, Had nothing worthwhile in the mod) and in Epoch we tried to make a home there but it was just a pain with them re-spawning all the time! I hope zombie spawns are worked out liked you suggested, And that the ability to board up/customize/reclaim buildings is implemented

I did that... However, i ate both some Charcoal Tabs, and the symptoms stopped flashing up, but i possibly sorta mighta fell off a balcony and died before i could tell if i was cured or not..

After 9 hours in the game, low and behold - I FOUND A PISTOL! AND, in the very next room across, was some .45 bullets (The guns name has 45 in it - so i'm assuming it takes these?) However, i can't for the life of me figure out how to actually use them. I did find a Stanag mag that was empty, Which gave me the uneasy feeling that i need a magazine to put the bullets in. If so, how rare are they - and where can i find them? D:

Damnit! Oh well, I have a holster so i may as well carry it around untill i find some (Or the more likely option, I'm shot and killed) I thought so, However the actual icon and the graphic for the pistol show one slotted, so there was the faint hope that i was just doing it wrong :D

Cuff them, You can access all their gear then. Then it's up to you, Run away, Shoot them in the head, Or fire in the air to attract zombies

Let me tell you a story. I was plodding around one of the new Cherno areas, Somebody came up to me and we had a chat. He didn't know how to use his headtorch, i explained it to him and went on my way. Shortly after poking around a supermarket, he jumped me in the entrance, and encroched on my with his wrench. However, whilst he was talking to me (In broken english - i wasn't sure what he was telling me), I Snuck behind him and cuffed him! I took his stuff, But left him a weapon and explained how to break free of the cuffs, before legging it into the countryside. All in all, i found it a thrilling experience to actually take a guys gear, but not just killing him the second i saw him. This gave me an idea, Perhaps when you shoot/kill somebody, a large portion of their stuff is damaged/deleted depending on where you shot them (Chest = Chest pockets, Legs = Leg pockets, Back = Backpacks) as to give bandit players less of a motive to just KOS. Think about it, If you have loads of your map and bottles of water in your backpack, And i riddle you with holes, Some of those bullets are gonna mess up your stuff.

Hmm, Perhaps i should! I've been watching the game since Oct '12, And the latest thing video i saw was Rocket mucking about with the compass - I still assumed the standalone was months away! But i didn't relise that, That's awesome. I just walked behind him with the cuffs selected, scrolled to get the option up and middleclicked!

Hello, i have been afflicted by the all to common "bad serial number" problem, but mine has somewhat of a twist. I have had arma 2 & it's expansions since the end of december, and i have also played dayz since then. Now, my game has been a little buggy the last week, and has crashed numerious times whilst i've been playing. Last night, i was on a server with some buddies. They where in a helicopter, and they crashed it and died. I transfered their gear into my truck, and was going to hide it away when i got up to the toilet. To keep myself hidden, i jumped in the back of the truck and went AFK. When i came back, my game had crashed (Again!). What i normally have to do in this situation, would be to reinstall the beta patch via dayz commander, then the game would run fine for a while. It gave me the "Bad Serial Number ect" error. And when i tried to reboot the game anyways first it comes up with an error stating : "ArmA 2 OA failed to load file pmc addons/ air_pmc.pbo" then proceeds to load anyway. It gets to DAYZ - Please wait then it comes up with the "bad serial number given in setup" and closes. I have the same problem when i try to launch either ArmA 2 or Arrowhead via steam (As in to play the vanilla game). If i try to play either BAF or PMC, i get "Can't find ARMA 2 : OA serial number in registry. Please Install ArmA 2 : OA then rerun PMC/BAF setup again. I also checked the registry, as some guides suggested i do and in my files, A key is clearly present for BAF and PMC, but for ArmA 2 and OA under the KEY file it simply reads : (Zero-Length Binary File) and all that's inside the doc is "0000". I don't quite understand, one thing i read said that if my key file was full of 0's then that means my key had been stolen. I don't understand how? I didn't download anything atall yesterday (Aside Itunes stuff), and i have never downloaded anything for any of my Arma games except the expansion packs, and that was through steam. And if my key has been stolen, how come they only stole some of the keys, rather than all of them? And how do i go about getting a replacement (I love the arma games as a whole, not just for DayZ). And most importantly, how the hell have my keys been stolen, if i havent downloaded anything nefarious?! I have already tried validating the game files, and i've attempted to reinstall Arma 2 and OA via steam , to no avail. The only thing left i can think of to try is a total purge from my machine, and i will do that overnight, as it's a good 10-12hrs worth of downloads. Thanks for your time, and any advice you can give.

Yup, i have tried that before and after a total clean reinstall :( Thing is, even if i edit the now blank KEY file and put my keycode in (Which i very cleverly wrote down) as soon as i boot the game it corrupts itself again..

Ok, Update time. I preformed a system restore, back to a date when the games work. I managed to retrieve my CD keys from the regedit, as this time they where present. However, when i try and run any of the games, i get the same "Bad Serial Number" and the game CTD. If i refresh on my regedit, the CD code has now erased itself, and i'm back at square one. Does anyone have any idea?

Welp, after a total reinstall, still nothing works. Same old error. Also, after cleaning out the registary and reinstalling i still get the (Zero-Length binary value) for ArmA2's and OA's CD keys.... Anyone know what to do now? Not entirely sure what you mean, i followed these steps but it asks for a password, which i have no idea what that could be. This computer only has 2 accounts, both are listed as admins..?

I will do that, thanks. It's more unstable because i push it to hard, and it's really to old to be running the kinda stuff i try to run on it :P But i will try this, along with a full reinstall overnight. I'll report back tomorrow morning with the results.

Thanks, i will try this. My system isn't particually stable, i deal with crashes across the board. Although, my Registry keys are under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio ect" I don't seem to have something called "Wow6432"... Out of interest what OS are you on? I'm using XP home premium. UPDATE : Tried this, to no avail... Both games give me the "Bad serial number given in setup" error shortly after reaching the bohemian interactive screen... :(

Hello, i am also having this problem. ALthough, i have owned all 4 Arma II titles, and have been playing dayz since last september. I was on a server last night, and my game crashed (Nothing new) and when i tried to reinstall i keep getting this, and i don't know why... Now none of my Arma titles will run... Any help would be appreciated, because i really want to get back in game :(

If you have teamates, you can get them to hurt themselves with zombies, then bag them. It's unfortunately very common around bandit groups so i often treat hero skins like any other player, i hid from them

First time playing the Map, me and my buddy both make it to the southern army base. Checked out the baracks, i got a G36, he got a DMR. Great, but as we went to leave a zombie landed a lucky shot and broke his leg. I went to try and go to a nearby town thing to look for morphine, but unfortunately there was one hiding. I knew nothing about bloodsuckers in the map, but i'm an avid STALKER fan. Let's just say i knew that bad times where inbound when i heard the roar. I ended up leaping off one of the tall sniper towers out of pure fear, because it was coming up the stairs and i'd used all my ammo on it!

This exactly. Besides, Private military companys campaign is epic, and i aint got around to trying BAF yet, but i have high hopes. IMO the updated textures are just a good side effect of the expansion packs For future reference, the textures improved are: Private Military - Survivor, Bandit and Hero skins. The interior of the black SUV BAF - Some rifles (British ones!), Landrover texture and the Ghillie and Camo clothings. There may be more, but this is all i've noticed as of date
