No, but they need to be seen as doing something, or you will get people moaning saying things like, "hey why are you allowing these advertisment links, come on MODs do you job ffs, blah blah etc etc." They do something, they get moaned at, they don't do anything they get moaned at,shesh. Give 'em a break.

I love how you think VAC is going to come riding into the rescue and sprinkle fairy dust and everything will be fine and dandy. Truth of the matter is, hackers made a lot of money selling scripts to people that wanted to cheat in the MOD, now they will be looking to sell scripts to them same idiots that want to Cheat in the standalone. Unless Bohemia spend 50 million a year on developing or licensing encryption software, but guess what. That not going to happen, because A, the cost will cripple the game, B that much data being sent back and forth between client and server would make it to laggy. So that only leaves them to find out what scripts are available and patch in a fix, but guess what the hackers love that, because they get to sell they're next script, to the idiots. The cycle of goes on and on.

Well at least you won the Darwin Award. We are sending it to you wrapped in bubble wrap and we are sending someone to open it for you. Just in case you swallow the bubble wrap.

I know Rocket(well I imagine) is pacing back and forth worrying about how the game has been received, but really I think he needs to relax, I mean apart from a few trolls,(has anyone seen the steam forums) and a few that signed up and not understanding what state the game build would be in. I think and I am not alone here, think the game has been received very positively. Sure there's been problems and bugs, but I think it is a cleaner build than what Rocket gives himself credit for. I for one have found the game runs very smooth, no massive FPS drops, a little bit of lag, but I think that's my Crappy connection more than anything else. Ok loot's a bit scares, but we all(right, some of us) expected problems, I mean they way Rocket made it sound, I was going to be eaten alive by giant game breaking death bugs, but for now. I starve to death more often than not, again balancing issues. We can live with that, I mean I managed to gear up twice, pistol, m4, backpack full of water, food and extras. So relax Rocket, have some beans ;)

Really, because last time I heard, game project leaders aren't paid that much, but if you have inside knowledge at Bohemia care to tells what the next patch is.
-
Goddamit, the first reply was a "we're doomed, doomed I tell ya" Well, I still think the game is a lot cleaner than Rocket made it out to be.

Most FPS multiplayer is deathmatch orientated, as much as some people treat dayz as a deathmatch shooting range. That is not it's core game style. I hate how a lot of admins abuse their power, I am not saying all of them do it, but a lot do. They spawn weapons and gear for their friends and themselves, admin kill or boot you, if you kill them or their friends. Admins should do it for the love of the game, not for the extra powers that come along wth it.

Thanks for the update rocket, now go get some sleep you madman, what time is it there. Must be like 3 in the morning.

Lucky you, I have yet to wake up from unconsious :P -
Having been a MOD in another gaming forum as well as a GM, I can see your point. I guess you really are not looking forward until Beta release and then the upcoming patch days either. You are going to find yourself very busy on the forums, better start warming up that ban hammer. :)

I think it is a conspiracy to hid the real fact. They discovered horse meat in the can food and horse DNA in the soda cans. So they started all the rediculous over-reaction to hide it and agreed to a call back to cover up the truth. Read the truth hear www.dayz.com/horse-meat-discovered-in-can-08695% *mod note: nothing to see here

Actually if Dean wanted to say it, he probably would. I think he knows we are pretty much grown up enough to take it. And congratulations on your first post, I am sure with your massive interaction with this community, you have gained enough right to speak down and berate them, plus your right to speak up for the lead developer of the game. Oh yeah, the messages in this thread are about 1 month old, so congratulations again, your rant was not to late and not off topic (clap clap clap).

Hehe just getting you in the mood for the SA, honest :D

I was listening to the stream at 5pm with Rocket on it and many things I liked, but one thing that stood out was that he mentioned in more detail was the inventory, how items interact with each other and the wear and tear. So I have been thinking about this a lot over the last few hours. He confirmed that certain clothing will give you extra slots and these will be different to the other slots in the inventory. My speculation So if you add the wear and tear system, I wonder if lets say you have heavy items in your pockets for a long period of time and you run a lot. The items could rip your pockets and you could lose said item, so this would make players think more about which items you would put in which slots. I also wonder if this would play into how exhausted your character could become, I know there's no stamina bar in this game(and please don't add one) but your character does become breathless and your aim become greatly diminished, so having over weighted pockets could add to the exhaustion. One other thought to add. Lets say you kept a handgun in you trousers, either by tucking it into the belt(if you were allowed) or into a pocket. And lets say you have had this weapon for awhile and it has not been regularly maintained, could this weapon missfire. It is conceivable if it is bouncing about in a pocket while you are running. Which adds to a question, will we have safety locks/switches for weapons? God dammit Rocket, why did you have to make such a cool mod and why do you tease us with glimpses into such a fundamentally, groundbreaking(I hate using the word EPIC) epic game. I want more information! I want the game now! but I am glad you and the team are taken the time to get lots of things right. Why can't more game developers be more like you or had the opportunity to be more like you. I just hope when the world sees the end product, it does wake up game company management to make better games, to let their employees have more freedom to explore new ideas and concepts. Instead of copy paste, add a number on the title and stick a price on it. Anyway I am starting to rant, so I will end with. I can't wait for version 1.0

Thank you now I can join the F5 brigade, tap, tap, tap..... I would imagine the SA will have that website when the game goes live/open beta and this one will be left for the Day Z mod. -

I am surprised the War Z developer has not changed his name to "The Rocketeer" -
I do like AVG, but I don't like that tune up program or any other tune up program, as they are full of monitoring programs(no parinoid nuts, not monitoring you, monitoring your system). That just end up taking up system resources and overall slow down your computer. As for the razor gamebooster, I like it and I can see a difference in performance. On my laptop, I get around a 15-20% boost and on my main rig, I get about a 2-5% boost. If you have a neat and tidy system you will see little to no difference, but if you have a system over run with background programs, drivers that are not up to date and want a greater control over what is running on your computer during a gaming session, then the gamebooster is what you want.

So looking over the stats on the home page of the Day Z website(Yes, it's late at night and I am bored) has left me wondering a few things. Unique players 1,541,937 Zombies killed 2,147,483,647 If you look at the stat, you would think zombies are a real problem in this game. Which means on average 1392,7 zombies killed per player, but I don't think I have killed more than 100 zombies total(give or take 10) and you know this is true for a lot of players. It is just far easier to hid in a bush and not waste ammo. So who are the players, that are going to town on them poor zombies. Are there really that many people that PvE in this game, which begs the question how many of you are Zombie hunters? Heroic players 44,319 Bandits alive 173,690 Given that only 25.5% of players are hero's. Why do I so often see in side chat directly after someone being killed is "why did you kill me?" I know it could be put down to new players, but I so often see the same players asking the same "Why did you kill me" question. Given that on average most servers hold 50 players, statistics say 38 people on that server are going to kill you on sight. So how do you guys play, why do you play that way and do you ask the "Why did you kill me?" question. Oh and what other stats would you like to see in this game?

You need to ask a community that is bias to both games. The trouble is you're asking about War Z in a very Pro Day Z forum and the fact that this community has not been lied or mislead like the War Z community has. You will only really get one answer "stay away from War Z". I have not played War Z, that has nothing to do with the information that has been released about the game from other players or certain youtubers. I just don't believe in the micro-transaction gaming market. Especially on a game that you have to pay for to own in the first place. I think it is a bad business policy, it does not show loyalty to long term players and those sorts of games don't see much growth outside of the micro-transaction market. Look for examples in Bigpoint or Cryptic Studios star trek online. What I will say is, if you are interested in the War Z play it and make up your own mind. You will know within a few days to a week if you like it or not and also. If the War Z developers have such faith in their product, why are they not offering a limited trial version of their game? -

I don't want to discus a "What if situation" as it can be a no win discussion, as I could counter with. What if you're in a gun fight and you have to go in a few minutes. You will have to wait around to finish the fight and let your character agro cooldown or take the risk, log out and hope they don't shoot you in the time it takes for your to minute pass. So you are in a no life game situation again, I personally don't see Day Z as a pick up and play type of game. It is quite hardcore and so I dedicate game time to playing it and even if an emergency situation comes up. Real life comes first and I will go instantly, even if I am being dry humped by zombies or shot at by another player. Then you might counter with another "What if situation" and the whole discussion goes back and forth not getting any where. So I will say, I don't see why both systems can not be put into the SA an "agro log off timer and a 30 minute offline character progression". That way they have two systems covering all situations.
