Making me redownload DayZ for some reason (unless the update is 5.7gb?????), anyone else having this issue? Also out of curiosity, what vehicle files were added?

Any guesses? I stopped playing the standalone and jumped on Epoch cause things were moving bit too slow for me. Just wondering if the original timelines had been updated yet, as vehicles were planned for summer and there's not a lot of time left.

I'm seeing people say the latest patch isn';t working out for them. I just had my first bash at it for a couple of hours and it played fine...oddly enough it felt a tad smoother but maybe thats just me.

I think somebody needs a hug.

So I was talking with a mate the other day and we got onto something that happened in our early days of the mod. It was night and we were heading into Elektro from the west. We noticed the place was lit with flares everywhere and was naturally cautious. We'd pulled a load of zombies and got separated. I was out of ammo and ran into the little shop bit by the petrol station. I tried getting out the back door but it wouldn't open, I was trapped...and then zombies ran in. I took a few hits trapped in a corner, then a man with a ghillie suit and SAW looking LMG runs in. He gets "Get down now" and then sprays at head height. He kills the zombies then tells me to follow him. I was bleeding but wasn't about to question him so went along. He took me to my mate who he rescued from his zombies. He fixed us up, we thanked him and he said he was going off, so we said our goodbyes. We carried on into elektro and saw him again about a minute later, on the hill to the NW of elektro going mad with his SAW. Hordes of zombies were running at him and he destroyed them all. We were loving this, we had been playing for a few weeks and this was the craziest moment so far. We kept going, figured him pulling the zombies would act as a good distraction so we could loot. We were searching the school and he started talking to us again. He said he'd left something for us downstairs. We were greeted to 2 suppressed pistols. We'd never been near anything like that, so we instantly got wet and thanked him again for it. We then went into the supermarket and he said he had something else for us outside. We were greeted to 2 suppressed M4s, ammo and a quad bike. This was our first real taste of good military gear and we, again got wet and thanked him. He said he was leaving and we said we were going to go for a ride on our first ever vehicle. We thought we were the dons. Big pimps, ready to go. My mate drove us for about 5 minutes or so north and we got to a town. There was a little bit of concrete sticking out of the road, we got stuck and blew up. Dead! My point is, looking back this guy was using scripts etc to spawn stuff for us. He gave us a great experience before (It was a hell of a light show, baring in mind it was dark), then gave us really good gear to top it off. He played with us a little but didn't seek to hurt us. It's my only experience of this being done in a positive way, and was wondering if I was alone in this? P.S. Lector / Lecter (forget spelling), you're the man!

Things like this should happen more often. Player run events have potential in games like this.

I'd thought this too. I noticed it would only ever happen when I needed to be listening for people, say killing on populated servers. It's a pain in the arse.

First kill on standalone was at the military base south of NW airfield. Saw a guy run off while I was in a building, I went outside and he came back. Sprayed him like mad, cheap murder but it was my first!!

It depends on the situation. If you're running around in your pants though I'm more inclined to kneecap you though, no idea why.

Vehicles were the best part of the mod. The first time me and a mate fixed a chopper (after maybe 4/5 hours of part finding and fueling) will always be one of my most memorable DayZ moments....all 15 seconds of it until I crashed us into the ground and blew us the f*** up.

Just 1, SURVIVE.

Idea being that you could loot someone without hurting them/ruining items. Using batteries to power the cattleprod or taser. Also berries which can be used to coat arrows or melee weapons in a poison that makes someone go unconscious say 30 seconds after being hit.

Evil south American berries which by pure chance made it to Russia.

To be fair getting wet in real life is pretty annoying, a repeating message accommodates for that.

I would add cats as pets cause i used to have a cat his name was mr kitty but he died I was really sad but since dayz is a simulation I would make it so you can have pets cause it can be lonely sometimes out in the wild and cats can also sense rain through infrared so if he meowed and looked at you in a wet way you'd know it was going to rain so you could build a house out of sticks and be dry and you could stay there for a while and I would call this one mr kitty so it can be like the good old days when I used to tickle his belly but it wouldnt be all fun and games cause we'd have to go get loot eventually so me and mr kitty would go to Berezino and rinse newspawns with our m4 spraying skills and be lords of the east and get more loot and when we were tired we'd go back and i'd stroke him and read to him

So yesterday I was playing. First time I logged in, char had been wiped. Annoying, but as everyone says #Alpha. Got lucky and got looted up pretty good after over an hour. Came off. Went back on in the evening with a mate, wiped again. Again, #Alpha. Tried re spawning somewhere good, no luck so didn't do anything. Tried today, can't connect to server. My internet goes crazy when trying to find servers on DayZ, my mate on ventrilo can't hear me properly because my connection is going nuts. Reset router and after maybe half an hours messing around eventually got into a server with my mate, huge desync and I figured I'd close DayZ and load again. Problems finding servers again, eventually got back on to same desync problem hit instantly. Internet goes mental then, dumps me out completely. This happened to me for like a week straight a while back and magically sorted itself out. I've not done anything major to my PC or router settings, no resets until today. Thing is, I'm a technical guy, not professionally but I've grown up and used computers enough that people come to me for help. I can't figure this out at all, and it's driving me nuts. It has all the hallmarks of being an internet rather than DayZ issue, but none of my other games online do this.

So I killed a couple of guys the other night. Looted a camo'd moison from one of them, but I'd never seen one before. Is this one you have to loot from building or can it be painted? If so, hows the painting done? Cheers!
