Any guesses? I stopped playing the standalone and jumped on Epoch cause things were moving bit too slow for me. Just wondering if the original timelines had been updated yet, as vehicles were planned for summer and there's not a lot of time left.

Things like this should happen more often. Player run events have potential in games like this.

So I was talking with a mate the other day and we got onto something that happened in our early days of the mod. It was night and we were heading into Elektro from the west. We noticed the place was lit with flares everywhere and was naturally cautious. We'd pulled a load of zombies and got separated. I was out of ammo and ran into the little shop bit by the petrol station. I tried getting out the back door but it wouldn't open, I was trapped...and then zombies ran in. I took a few hits trapped in a corner, then a man with a ghillie suit and SAW looking LMG runs in. He gets "Get down now" and then sprays at head height. He kills the zombies then tells me to follow him. I was bleeding but wasn't about to question him so went along. He took me to my mate who he rescued from his zombies. He fixed us up, we thanked him and he said he was going off, so we said our goodbyes. We carried on into elektro and saw him again about a minute later, on the hill to the NW of elektro going mad with his SAW. Hordes of zombies were running at him and he destroyed them all. We were loving this, we had been playing for a few weeks and this was the craziest moment so far. We kept going, figured him pulling the zombies would act as a good distraction so we could loot. We were searching the school and he started talking to us again. He said he'd left something for us downstairs. We were greeted to 2 suppressed pistols. We'd never been near anything like that, so we instantly got wet and thanked him again for it. We then went into the supermarket and he said he had something else for us outside. We were greeted to 2 suppressed M4s, ammo and a quad bike. This was our first real taste of good military gear and we, again got wet and thanked him. He said he was leaving and we said we were going to go for a ride on our first ever vehicle. We thought we were the dons. Big pimps, ready to go. My mate drove us for about 5 minutes or so north and we got to a town. There was a little bit of concrete sticking out of the road, we got stuck and blew up. Dead! My point is, looking back this guy was using scripts etc to spawn stuff for us. He gave us a great experience before (It was a hell of a light show, baring in mind it was dark), then gave us really good gear to top it off. He played with us a little but didn't seek to hurt us. It's my only experience of this being done in a positive way, and was wondering if I was alone in this? P.S. Lector / Lecter (forget spelling), you're the man!

I'd thought this too. I noticed it would only ever happen when I needed to be listening for people, say killing on populated servers. It's a pain in the arse.

First kill on standalone was at the military base south of NW airfield. Saw a guy run off while I was in a building, I went outside and he came back. Sprayed him like mad, cheap murder but it was my first!!

It depends on the situation. If you're running around in your pants though I'm more inclined to kneecap you though, no idea why.

Vehicles were the best part of the mod. The first time me and a mate fixed a chopper (after maybe 4/5 hours of part finding and fueling) will always be one of my most memorable DayZ moments....all 15 seconds of it until I crashed us into the ground and blew us the f*** up.

Idea being that you could loot someone without hurting them/ruining items. Using batteries to power the cattleprod or taser. Also berries which can be used to coat arrows or melee weapons in a poison that makes someone go unconscious say 30 seconds after being hit.
