AI setup shooting zombie & bandit (How ?)

Wrong game. Sorry. -
How to play music through your mic?
p4nnus replied to maninthewall's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You can not. -
This is horseshit. No to all except the fact that these are shitty suggestions. Dont post stupid stuff especially if you know its stupid. Why, you ask. Zombies dont drive cars. Not even a meter. Some of them devolve to a state where they move with all limbs, do you think someone in that state can drive?

Godmode Hack or Just Terrible Shooting?
p4nnus replied to Admiral_Blunts's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
He was shooting with the g36a camo I assume. Not that it matters, but recognized the sound. Its one hell of a rifle, accurate and with a dual sight. If you want to know what you could have done differently, I would suggest that in a similar situation you should try to hide in a bush/spruce. Though I did notice that youre playing on a bambi server with the name tags allowed, dont like those myself as you can spot someone totally hidden with ease. -
Shh bambie, just learn to use the f*cking search bar. Youll see that this has been discussed so many times, and NO. If you like to be a happy, peaceful, diplomatic zombiekiller, you can be that, but everyone can do what they want and you shouldnt be able to know about their intentions in advance. Unless someone tells you, or you see banditry happening. Edit: Even weaponry tells you pretty much about the strangers intentions and motives, though you shouldnt do any decisions on its behalf, as you shouldnt in real life. But you can if you want to be sure. Thats the excitement, the freedom. The authenticity.

I actually suggested something quite similar some time ago. I would like to see some kind of a competitive survival tournament.. and now as you mentioned it, the 24h tournament would be much better than a lasting tournament. Quoting myself from 12 January 2013. "And BTW I would love to see some kind of long lasting tournament in DayZ. Maybe something like who survives the longest, with the first death eliminating you from the competition, but instead from dropping you out of action, you get to start again. (it would be the same 50 players locked to the tournament for the duration of it, with maybe a certain amount of hours that you must play each day) Ofcourse as your out of the competition, your job is to hunt the remaining competitors out. (or maybe the eliminators who died could give their place to a random player, who wants to try their chances in the elimination) Though this might not work because of the fact, that you can just survive in the woods on the edge of the map, as long as you want. But then again, could this be prevented by giving the competitors different daily goals, like visiting a certain city? (everyone has the same goal, to guarantee conflicts) As this just came to my mind, Im not sure would this work in a way that honors what DayZ is, as it encourages or lets say.. makes you engage in pvp, and because of that it isnt only surviving.. but it could be something to consider about. ^_^ "

Perma-identity. Nickname is permanent. Nickname as face. Cover face - conceal nickname.
p4nnus replied to DZR_Mikhail's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
A nicely presented suggestion for once, but Im afraid Im atleast partly against it. No matter if the player nametag would appear in a much shorter distance if your prone or in shadow etc. If you only take a fast glimpse at a direction, you could still miss the person if he was standing 10 meters away from you in the sunlight. Theres a possibility that this wont happen because the computer would tell you that theres an enemy. This is just wrong and battles the aforementioned authenticity. Also, a good guy might want to stay as The Mysterious Stranger (no covered face, no permanickname) whilst not covering his face and thus presenting himself as a hostile to others. Though I do agree that we need more different things to cover our faces with, or to begin with, different kinds of outfits with maybe the kinds of the hero skin (a semi-civilian and a little improvised looking, still neat skin..maybe with a hint more of survivor looks, read: beards and a shaving mechanic soon?) for the goodies and then the ghillie-specops-pilot-guerilla etc. skins for the ones interested with (para)military looks. The point is, variety would make the social interactions feel more unique. Glad to see that SA is gonna get this covered, and humanity will just be a bad memory. -
No ranks, no rebuilding, only underground bases. You can fortify a building without any of these features implemented.

Good and Evil meter will affect the gaming experiences
p4nnus replied to LKMoonS's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I hate to be the guy always bitching about this, but is it that frigging hard to use the search bar for looking if theres a similar suggestion already? Its on the rules, so if its too hard, you shouldnt post at all. The whole humanity system should be gone already, and hopefully will be in the SA. So no, definitely no good or evil meters. We dont have them IRL and the soldier base wouldnt know if the person is good or evil. Stupid suggestion. Edit: Have you even played the game? You do realize that boosting the hero skin for the pointman of a team is a totally (unfair but) deceiving tactic. -
The zombies are not dead, they are infected. Kind of like the ones in 28 days later, I assume. This fights the idea of reanimating players. It COULD be an ok idea, if it would fit the setting better. Edit: The player has an immunity.
-
Why would you do so?
-
If you have the wrong resolution, change it to native resolution of your screen. Specifically a wrong 3d-resolution can cause some major loss of FPS. Also, you shouldnt just put everything to very low, it might be even worse that way. Just my 2 cents, am not really an expert on this.

TurkWars Rmod server with Tanks,Jets,Custom buildings, extra weapons and More! Nice Admins! Beta 101480 Dayz 1.7.5.1
p4nnus replied to 2epicpanda's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Bambieserver alert! Tanks are not a part of this mod! Neither are jets! Heavily modified for lesser difficulty, proceed with caution! Preferably dont proceed at all! -
What song reminds you of DayZ, and are there any quotes that really stick out?
p4nnus replied to unkillable94's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Led Zeppelin - Kashmir. The song just has this end-of-the-world-feeling to it, and theres just a few things more epic than a clip of you running from a zombie sea.. well okay a zombie group while the songs famous riffs are echoing through the air. And also every part of the lyrics could be quoted but this part is especially fitting for DayZ: "All I see turns to brown, as the sun burns the ground And my eyes fill with sand, as I scan this wasted land Tryin' to find....Tryin' to find where I've been." -
Replace M107/AS50 with less effective russian equivalent
p4nnus replied to Xianyu's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
You people always seem to forget that civil war with NATO interference happened in Chernarus, apparently not long before the outbreak.. thus making american/british rifles perfectly fitting for the milieu. -
When playing on a private hive (server), you start a new character which stays on that single hive and that hive only. You can not transfer it. All the public hives share the same database and your character will remain on them and you play the same character on all of them. You cant transfer it either.

Bonus for long term Survivors Suggestion
p4nnus replied to wireworld's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
No fucking bonuses. Not a single one. This has been discussed about over and over again, and NO. Learn to use the search bar. By surviving, or even by being thirsty/hungry often(or all the time), you dont get better at withstanding it. Without knowing barely anything about human biology, it must be the exact opposite. Well maybe with hunger, you would learn to cope up with less, but this would also mean that you wouldnt be able to do the marathons as you are now. IMO you should be able to go about without food for a little longer time, but then you wouldnt be able to run at all, and your aiming would be all over the place etc. So my few cents: no bonuses whatever the case. If the hunger/thirst(+stamina?) system gets overhauled to something even more hardcore, then we can reconsider different things about food and drinks. If not, the current system is just fine .No to this also. In SA there will be pants and shirts and so on, to choose from. BUT ofcourse you need to find these pieces of clothing first. IMO the starting clothing should be just randomized civil gear, but I dont mind seeing the likes of the hero skin (with a vest as long as they dont gain bonuses wearing it, UNLESS you need to find that body armor separately). Why not you ask? Because atleast the soldier camo gives you a great advantage because of the camouflage. And it also takes away from the experience of starting fresh, with a totally new character. -
the underground bunkers arent happening in the mod, atleast not in that scale. Im against all of those ideas, except for animals roaming authentically. (and bunkers, if they just could be done in a way that honors the game) edit: I also think that youre trying to change Chernarus to the Zone. If you come up with a realistic story, milieu and setting for the radiation activity(/possible nuclear plant).. maybe then it would work. (still doubt it) I can assure you, Im a fan of Stalker too, but this mod is about autheticity to a much further point than Stalker, so the ideas dont really fit in DayZ as they are.
-
It doesnt make any sense, because the infection risk is atleast quite realistic with the blood bag, as you need to stick a needle in your vein. With a standard medkit, this wouldnt be the case. Or if it would, you would again need 2 players doing the transfusion. So from where, exactly, does the infection come from whilst using the medkit?

Safe Zone - Battle Eye Friendly Script
p4nnus replied to haywardgb's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
This game hasnt got safe zones. It isnt meant to have them. You filthy bambifying novice. Hope you wont succeed in any of your options, even with the first one being the only one acceptable. >:( -
Bases (and new barricades), spawning, friend spawns, NPCs (merchants)
p4nnus replied to JayTee13's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
GayTee. Did I say anything about using the f'cking search bar before posting? Bases are coming with SA, though in a much more balanced way than what you must be thinking. Just stop posting before you can do it without braking rules. If I was an admin, you wouldve got banhammered so many times :/ -
Many reasons why we need the bandit, survivor, and hero skins back.
p4nnus replied to JayTee13's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Well in that case, youre looking at it from the wrong point of view. Its as clear as water: either you want to make the game easier and more predictable, with the expense of authenticity, or not. The communitys opinion doesnt matter in this case, because DayZ is meant to be unforgiving and cruel. Let it first succeed in what Dean wants it to be, then discuss bambifying again. The end game content will be dealt with, I wouldnt worry about that. When youre referring to pre-banditskin DayZ as a CoD with zombies, youre making a unholy statement. This game and also the mod, are so far away from CoD, that they are almost day and night. You should be dismembered for that filthy statement. Though I agree with the chaos part, but thats what probably would happen! Chaos or not, there should be NO WAY of knowing what a person does/has done to survive. "DayZ was designed to be impossibly cruel, dark, and brutal. It was not designed as a game it was more of an experiment, I prefer the term "anti-game" - in other words the mechanics are not designed to be balanced, or offer a way out for different situations. These are things game designers normally take care with. I discussed this with the our team members at great length of many arguments, the idea behind safe zones. The eventual consensus was that it went against the ethos of the project. This whole concept, and the reason it "works", is that there IS no safe zone (unless you make it). Your actions have real and brutal consequences. There are no game designed safety nets. It is the kind of system/environment that will sometimes make you want to punch the computer screen. But with that kind of risk, comes great emotional reward when you carry something off. The sniper you describe - there are people like this in the world, and in the breakdown of order I can bet that there would be people who would sit on a roof and shoot people "just for the lulz". The system makes no judgement on player actions, and this is one of the only real rules that was adopted for the development. While consequences may occur for a particular action (e.g. humanity loss), no judgement is implied or placed on that behavior. Beyond hacks, and misuse of exploits, regulating player behavior is not a scope of this project. If players, themselves, wish to group together and attempt to regulate the behavior. Well, that's entirely up to you. This kind of activity is not for everyone. It really is more of a social experiment than a game. There is no intention to change that, if you dislike the PVP, then I would recommend playing Dynamic Zombie Sandbox or Celery's excellent Chernaus Apocalypse - there is no point in these being recreated through this mod. Why make something that has already been done?" -Dean "rocket" Hall edit: JayTee, would you please start searching stuff up before posting. The standalone will feature cloth pieces to choose from, but ofcourse you will need to find it to change it. Not satisfied with you at all. -
