Have you tried re-installing BattlEye, Arma II and Arma II OA. If not, do that then play both Arma's to the main menu then try again.

No mods here, the people with the Cyan names are the mods.

Third person vs First person view

There is a simple way to deal with this, there are some servers that allow only 1st and some only 3rd yet most are both. If you like A over B join A if you like B over A join B and if you like to alternate between the two join C. -
How are these new players hearing this yet no one else can? Maybe you're all mistaking it for a zombie growl?
