I think it's fair to say ammo won't be that rare. It'll be mags that are rare, which is why this mechanic would suit that well. Being able to do a quick mag check could mean the difference between semi-auto and full-auto when entering a city/town. I would also like the ability to count individual bullets, but that's time consuming and not something you do in the middle of a zombie infested town. -

- I didn't say you'd hate the Standalone, that was someone else. - With no HUD for ammo count or amount of magazines, how are you supposed to know when you've run out of full mags and are beginning to dip into half mags? How are you supposed to know you shot half the mag with no way to tell? What's going to happen when you log in and you forgot how many half mags/full mags you have? Instead of having a simple animation to check weight, you want none at all. Everyone can check a weight of a mag, not everyone has good memory, especially in a real firefight, not just semi-auto sniping someone. I just don't understand your argument. You think your flawed way of doing things in ArmA 2 will work in the SA, therefore there should be no mechanic to check mag weight. It's an animation that takes less than 3 seconds. What is wrong with it? So you thinks it's more useful to go into your inventory and examine random mags than to be able to examine the mag currently in your gun? Wut. -

Am I typing in another language? FULL ALMOST FULL ALMOST EMPTY No numbers. No exact counts. Just a way to check your general bucket count. Holy Jesus. The animation is just you pulling out a mag for a second, holding it, and putting it back in. One animation. If that makes a game "full of animations" for you, then DayZ must be like play to you. -

You've obviously never played RO2 veteran before. I agree with you, there should be a way to unload a mag and check the ammo count, but as a quick check, like something to do in the middle of a gunfight, this mechanic is not useless at all. It's saved my ass plenty of times in Rising Storm. - Defend against Banzai charge. - check mag, nearly empty - reload, repeat. So what do you want then? You want the game to fax you your mags approximate weight? It's not like its going to be a giant neon and blinking text, it could be subtle and in the bottom middle of the screen. If you think that's intrusive, then I feel sorry for you. -
How do you know all of this if you don't have access to RCON?

Fghcrinctyuncatjb! It would only happen if you held "R" as OP suggested! There is only three things it can say "full" "nearly empty" or "half full" / "half empty" depending on how unoptimistic/optimistic Ricket is. This is a thing any person can do, literally any person. You don't need military training to feel weight and compare it to how heavy it was before. -

Weight. In RO2, it says "the magazine FEELS half full/full/almost empty." -
I don't think anyone's going to recommend BB to a guy who hacked. I certainly won't. I doubt this global ban happened 6 months ago, since you just made a forum account today. My bet is it happened a few days ago. Also, you didn't "hack", you downloaded/bought a script from someone else, watched a tutorial, and pressed play. Hehehehe, too funny.

How are you supposed to count the number of bullets in a stanag or AK 30rnd mag? There's no slit in them. I like OPs suggestion since its the most realistic out of all the ones here. A G36c mag you can see the bullets, but that's only one mag. I do think Rocket should implement "mini-games" into the Standalone such as manually reloading a clip, dissembling and cleaning a weapon, and there has to be the ability to play Go Fish.. has to. -

Maybe, or the refocusing of most data going to the server side instead of client side will make it so things like god mode and teleporting will be impossible (improbable). It will also take more than simple scripting to make it, since ArmA 2's engine was very, very script friendly. Maybe there'll be a lot of aimbots, but those won't affect DayZ much. -

You can't be banned for server side stuff such as missions. The only person that can get you banned is yourself. Contact Battleye to resolve your problem. -

The concept would definitely be easy to implement. You have to worry about everyone spawning as a dog though, there needs to be a mechanic where everyone would be able to play as a dog, but not right away.

Try crawling through Cherno and avoiding zombies. I know it sounds crazy but it used to be the old tactic of DayZ looting and you'll live and probably get zero aggro at all. -

Yeah, Breaking Point is obviously horrid in the optimization department. I can't even play it due to the massive lag spikes that last several minutes and render my character unusable.
