Hey guys with my return to day Z i decided to clean up my youtube channel and compile ALL the best of the best clips from my previous video into two 11 minute long videos. These videos include clips from the year i was at balota buddies. They contain entire squad wipes, massive distance shots on the run, million dollar shots and some good old funny moments. Some of you may have seen parts of the clip but some probably haven't. This will give those who don't know me some insight into our squads style of game play, particularly mine. This may sound strange but here goes. I don't think Day Z turned out the way dean hall originally planned it to be. I get the vibe that yes he intended Day Z to be more then it is at the moment, hunting for food, foraging surviving against zombies, team up with players and so forth. The game that we have today has those mechanics but not at the level i think they originally intended them to be. Pvp kind of just took over and to me and i assume a lot others is the sole reason they play. To be quit honest I'm pretty sure day z wouldn't have its popularity today if it wasn't for the huge emphasis on it. I also think that's a major part of why BB is successfully because we cater for that type of game play, with extra military spawns and so forth. I don't think you can have the strait out survival aspect of a zombie game that was originally intended and have it implemented on the arma 2 engine as a mod, it just i guess doesn't feel right for me, it needs to be done another way. I think high powered rifles (50 cal or 33 cal) are an essential addition to a server, but need to be very rare and few in number. The reason why i say this is because they act as a deterrent to wreck less acts performed by a player. What i mean by this is it creates that fear factor in someones mind that "Shit i should not run in that open field" even though that tree line is 800m away. If this fear factor was not in the game then people would run around carelessly or like spastics thinking they are a lot more safer. The good thing about this effect is it can still be applied even with VERY minimal number of 50 cal's on the server. Everyone doesn't necessarily need to have one for that way of thinking to occur its just the fact that someone knows its a possibility, this becomes a massive issue though when that possibility is dramatically increased. When it reaches that point it effects game-play and also causes a lot of people to complain. There's a thin line that needs to be balanced between people thinking how many 50 cal's are on the server and how many actually are. That same point explained above also apply's to not just players but vehicles/helicopters also. It will make a pilot/driver re think his route before actually doing it, if there was no fear factor people would just do what ever.

I want to create a weekly segment of the top 10 "Plays" in Day Z. I have had quite a lot of experience editing videos from my CSS background so why not put the skills to use. The first video will be released when enough submissions have been received and the series will have a new release once a week. All videos will be judged by me and my clan. It really would make my day if people got behind this, i think it can be something quite big. What do I consider a good play? To me a good "play" is anything with a wow factor to it, generally its always going to be some sort of insane kill/kills but it can be anything. EG: Double back flipping a quad, crashing a chopper into another chopper. Be creative, ill accept most things. What do I need to do to be considered? Below is a list of criteria that need to be met to even be considered. - The video can be no longer then 1 minute and 30 seconds. - The video needs to be RAW un edited footage recorded with either fraps, dxtroy, bandit cam and other similar recording programs. - The video can not include any sort of hacks, bug abuse or illegal activities. - The video can have recordings of team speak/Other voice recording programs accompanying it. - The video submission ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE a brief description of what happens in the video, this is for a better and more efficient filtering process. - The video must be compressed into a zip/rar etc file and uploaded to a know file sharing website. Mediafire, rapidshare etc etc - The video will only be accepted if it is sent to my YOUTUBE ACCOUNTS INBOX (http://www.youtube.c...1?feature=mhee0) OR sent to me in a private message on this website. - The video has to be good quality, preferably recorded at 40fps and higher. More things may be added/edited as time goes on, after all it will be a learning process for me to.
