    "Psychosis" bar for Bandits

Play style shouldn't be directly punished, and players should not be forced to work together. The only thing relating to team work should be reward based (i.e. working alone should have no punishment, but there should be rewards for co-operation).

    Walking Zombies

Like others have suggested, a mixture of the two makes sense. Im sure it will be implemented as part of the zombie life cycle that rocket wants. The slow shamblers would be freshly fed or older zombies, the fast runners would be more desperate hungry ones and newly infected etc etc.

    Treasure and Money

DayZ already has an economic system of supply and demand as Enforcer discussed. A neutral zone would definitely take away from the spirit of the game imho.

1 tank with manual (driving only)

Holy shit, this gave me a better idea! How about we put in a riot control police truck in?! It wouldn't be too far out of the DayZ universe (dispatched to quell looting etc.) Either give it a non-lethal rubber bullet gun or a water cannon. Perfect for storing shit and troop transport!
  5. I think that its a cool idea, but I dont understand why you cant use a full inventory screen. To me this seems like half quick menu, half full inventory, with the benefits of neither. I think get rid of the detail (like the '+' to expand) and keep it as simple as possible for the most commonly used items, hope this helps you OP.

Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?

Hopefully respect will be enough. I think it would be unlikely that BI would chase anyone down for breaching the NDA; the litigation would be more costly than any damages they could recover... :(

Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?

It's unlikely that we will get a release date, it's more likely that it will be "HERE GUYS, ENJOY!" or "First batch of keys available tomorrow". It should be soon though because its highly likely with so many closed testers that information will (unfortuanely) leak. You wouldn't risk a leak if you weren't close to a release.

    Pre-order? Donation?

I thought that purchasing an Alpha/Beta version of a game was preordering?

Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?

Thanks for the update Rocket! The models and textures look amazing compared to the Mod!
  10. Thanks for the post Rocket, glad to hear you are happy with the progress!

    Your story!

Just a basic text file would be nice, its definitely a cool idea. Like fletchernut said, I wouldnt mind sifting through the garbage to find the occasional gem.
  12. Ive recently seen an interview between Rocket and some journo, in a part of it he expressed how he wanted to make the game inaccessable. I could imagine nothing more user unfriendly than helicopter controls. It would allow us to also increase the number of helis per server, due to the difficulty involved in flying. Imagine some poor noob finding a helicopter, getting all excited, starts frantically flipping switches in the cockpit, only to be pulled out and ripped apart by zombies. Or someone who can fly one, his squad holding the perimeter while he starts it up in the heat of battle. @fletchernut not everyone would be as keen as you to learn how to fly ;)

    Having multiple characters

I don't want it because it will be so blatantly exploitable. No doubt the standalone will support multiple characters, even if just for the reason OP stated at some point.

What should our next competition be?

    To dubstep.

    Who killed me?

Seems like it would take away from the spirit of DayZ. In a post appocalyptic scenario like this, where you have to survive, it would be unreasonable (in context) for players to be chasing eachother over the map based on bad blood in the past.

    New DayZ Combat Feature: Asssassination

Even the option to use the knife for just hunting would be great. Would you give the victim the option to defend themselves?
  17. Quartermaine

    Handcuffs, zipties and blindfolds.

I was thinking about this sort of thing too. The idea I had was to make it so the victim could always free themselves, but there would be a 30sec delay or something. During this delay the victim would perform a blatant animation indicating they were freeing themselves; allowing the hostage taker to see (if paying enough attention), and decide if they should warn the victim or shoot them for disobeying. New Dev Blog Report: November 2012

Last time I checked, your health and sanity are pretty good reasons. I think you just need to learn to be patient and to control your own hype. I can't wait for the standalone either, but keep in mind its only going to be an alpha. The only things you can expect to be different on day one of the Standalone is anti-hacking and possibly the inventory system, new enterable buildings and pooping. Besides it would be more irresponsible to release a game that is substandard (even for an alpha), it has happened before and look at the shit from that. Honestly if you are that excited maybe you could think of a way to meaningfully contribute?
  19. Being able to start the KA50 Black Shark from the ground, I am very OK with this.
  20. This is a great idea. It would definitely separate the hardcore survivors from the casuals. My arguement would be similar to Bribase's
