    Removing "Bandit/Murder"

    Tried that didnt work lead to shoot on sight. It boils down to the choice of realistic abilitys or realistic player behaviour sometimes you need unrealistic restrictions like removing the ability to jump to avoid bunnyhopping twitchers to destroy immersion bandit skin beyond respawn is the same it makes people more carefull about their choices.

I like your system but it does not take into account that DayZ has a huge playerbase nowadays and you meet more different individuals than there should be around in an area as big and developed as Chernarussia.Some sort of artificial identificaten system is needed to balance out the unrealistic byproducts of online gaming (server hopping,log outs,no need for a place to sleep/camp and last but not least huge playerbase making it impossible to keep track of). one way to do this would be to allow you to hide your face before you commit a murder like I suggested in this thread : http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/62598-masked-robberyassasination-bandit-skins/#entry597660

    Remove some snipers rifles

    I did some research and came to the conlusion that while beeing an awesom piece of technology the AS50 still is unrealisticly overpowered in game while i really has an awesome recoil reduction system the game still treats it as a gun similiar to the lighter scoped rifles. I think the game needs to adress shooting an AS50 in standing and crouching position which is to easy or remove the weapon. there is no way you handle an 15kg pipe the same way as a m14. nice video showing rapid fire near the end. but I doubt he can do the same standing :D.

    looks fine to me (I think you can find different clothing for the body cant you?) agreed on the ability to change masks. I agree DayZ Can learn alot from eve but I would be carefull with some features -Tagging :Eve suffers from massive blueballing that in the end prevent alot of PvP and take the fun out of combat(blob warfare). -High artificial "xp"skill requirements to get the usefull gear also preventing pvp(and lol supercaps online). ... actually thats all. eve is awesome

    Lee Enfield, Yay or Nay?

    Wasnt convinced of it at start but found myself using the lee enfield more and more it has a nice archaic touch to it. (that goes for the pre nerf gun naturaly).
  10. Like I said before this mechanics are not entirely realistic but no game will ever cover this perfect this ones are simple and might work better than more complicated mechanics while providing authenticity.
  11. Elektro, Cherno is kind of shielded from the surounding hills and woods so sniper and bandits need to move into the city fighting face to face. Elektro has two big main roads which are easily covered by snipers and the higher ground around the city allows some sniping into the centre.

    Was suggested before always overlooked a bit I like the idea. Also I think it could add some of the most hilarious situations (e.g. group of survivors secureing a building Bob secures to the rear ,Tom turns his back of him,Bob turns into Z. and eats him :D).
  13. Could not put it better myself. Also Chernarussia is not exactly a metropolis there possibly is only one school,the factories in cherno be the major employer,and cherno the only place to buy some decent stuff. A decent amount of the survivors would have lived there before the Infection. They would have gone to school together. Meet at the doctor. Worked in the factory together. Be stationed in the same military base. Would know the drunkards and bullies who had barfight in cherno. Know a stranger to their region (accent ,clothing,gestures ...). There wont be a million different people appearing out of nowhere and disapearing the next hour. There would be some sort of persistence (like "you knowthe people who live in this forrest they are evil bandits everyone dissapears there"). Keeping this in mind it alot more important to hide ones identity.

It was that way with bandit skins in the begining because of the persistance and DayZ´s one acount functionality people who randomly shot strangers such things would sort themself out quite fast because griefers where so deep in the negative pretty fast. In the end the very simply system proved more effective than alot of the sophisticated system i´ve seen in MMO (Eve online ,UO second age), I think thats because you have only one character in DayZ (and its the reason there is so much opposition against bandit identifiers). Saddly I believe alot of the mechanics to allow self defense would only be abused by griefers.

Alot of criminals who try to kill someone are going wear masks to hide their identity so that is realistic. regarding the bandit skin like it or not they will make a comeback in the next patch according to the machinima interview. If they going to stay ? who knows its an alpha so they going to test what fits and whats not. I am sure there needs to be such a system to keep at least some sanity in the gameplay others do not. But this thread is about dealing with Bandit skins while allowing players to PvP when they like to. Part of the reasoning behind masks is to give players freedom to do what they like even with bandit morphing in place.
  16. Bandit skins worked like this in the past already and if rocket changes this he doesnt even need to bother re-implementing them. If bandit status is reset after death It will be quite inefective in preventing exesive killing (supposing thats the reasons to put them back in).
  17. Agreed I dont understand what issues all the kos people have with bandit identifiers they can still play like the like theres nothing that gonna stop them. I do however understand to a certain degree the people who argue about the self defense killings I for one found it possible to avoid killing in self defense allthough I still died because of that sometimes but still theres nothing that changes from the state of the game now. While Bandit skins where still in place there even where some people who didnt shoot bandits but instead tried to communicate first and teamed up( but that was with sidechat still active and people warning each other about threats). The self defense problem can be adressed by numerous ways i dont know how much is codable with arma but it should not be to hard to make anyone a free target who shot in the last 10 seconds or something along this lines(that would also be kind of realistic gunshots make people nervous).

    Players' Muders / Bandit Kills

    I would like that only survivors can get bandit kills because its so much harder to do them as its to simply kill everyting moving and hated it that the top killers also alway where the top bandit killers back in the days when we had leaderboards.

Thats exactly the reason i hope bandit skins work the way they did wich was pretty harsh e.g. staying after death slow regaining There also should be a limit to the amount of blood packs you can play per day or something like that. If it is codable there should be a loss of humanity for wounding too prefereable shooting someone should instantly turn you into a bandit for say a minute without a visible sign, to many kills should then add the bandit scarf or mask or whatever. shooting in the legs or raising the horde sound already alot more interesting and fun to me than the mindless sniping or run and gun we have now,
  23. Every weapon with a more powerfull calibre than 5.56mm should have a decent chance to cripple or knock out. Dont start making the one hit kill weapons end game eqipment to pwn the noobs i am fine with .50 cal rifles as long as i can also one hit the snipers with my lee enfield should the be to predictable (pls fix the dinner bell).

I would always think that bandits want to hide their faces behind masks to cover their identity. so I`d like to see a system where people loose humanity when they kill to much with their faces to be seen. And then would be forced to wear a mask or something to hide their faces (banditskin). But survivors could choose to wear a mask voluntary to hide their identity and kill with lower, or no hit on their humanity. Killing people with masks would always count as bandit kills so this would give a somehow realistic sort of pvp flag and allow a change of playstyle when you get bored beeing the good guy. Naturaly it should take some time to put on the mask or take it off( and I´m sure there are some exploits to whole idea).
