The only problem with a bicycle is that you can't do a thing about slowing down once you start bombing down a hill, where as on a motorbike you can. -

You have some interesting things going on at Devil's Castle :P Somehow my squad and I managed to drive a bus to both NWAF barracks two nights in a row, and didn't come across a single soul. There's usually around 12-ish people online when we play, yet I can't seem to find anyone! Where on earth do you guys hide? -

I would personally love to play in a first person only version of the game as it adds an intensity that I really enjoy, but unfortunately in my considerable PC gaming life it is the only first person mode that makes me motion sick. I can tolerate head bob in most games, but the way the engine does it in ArmA 2 is just off enough that it makes me queasy if I play for too long. Also have you ever tried to cycle off-road in first person mode? It's like sitting on an old tumble dryer turned on, while being driven over rocks in a soft suspension 4x4 car, expecting it to be a smooth ride. I had to ALT+F4 after going down my first hill because I couldn't stare at the screen for long enough to hit Abort without wanting to hurl. The fact that the screen was still bouncing everywhere behind the menu I was trying to concentrate on was just the icing on the cake. -

I found a pickup truck and a tractor a few days ago. Sometimes the loot would stay in the vehicles, sometimes it wouldn't, and sometimes it would reset to what they had in them two server restarts ago, and sometimes it would have old loot I'd transferred out into tents, and the new loot I'd put back in them side by side. I stashed them away and log back in today and they have disappeared. I'm assuming they got stolen, but I've had tents empty themselves and refill randomly and vehicles disappearing only to reappear later. I have no idea how to prevent it, or what causes it.

I'm also stuck loading regardless of what sever I try to join. I've updated battleye manually, and my last play session I just logged out as normal but can't get back in.

Suggestion for shopping carts

I actually think this is a great idea. There are plenty of supermarkets around the place, so why no carts? -
The best advice I've read is place a tent, put a can of beans or something similarly small and common and save the tent. If the tent is still there after the restart, it's usually a safe bet. I found my first tent the other day. Pitched it, filled it and not 5 minutes later the server restarted and ate the entire tent with everything in it. I've been checking the same spot for a few days just in the hopes that it comes bacl, and 48 hours later my tent reappeared with all of the stuff still inside it. I think it's really just random.

As the title suggests, in a single trip I managed to get myself an M4A1 CCO, an M24 and a tent. This is the first time I've found an unpacked tent, so now I'm looking for a server to call home. Does anyone have a favourite, home server? Recommendations, or places to avoid? Cheers! Edit: One thing I forgot to add, I'm in the UK so any European servers are viable, and East Coast at a push. -

I'd like to think that I'm the shoot-only-if-being-shot kind of person, but I've never once been shot and lived to tell the tale. One shot and I tend to fall unconscious, and either bleed to death or get double tapped so I've never been in the middle of any dramatic fire fights. Most of the time I get shot is while I'm looking around trying to find a weapon for the first time - no hatchet or crowbar yet either. It makes me wonder why people shoot when it's clear you're completely unarmed. -
I've come across a bug since 1.7.1.1 that has affected me multiple times, but unfortunately I'm not entirely sure how to reproduce it. I've tried, but it seems a bit random. Sometimes when crouch walking, or crawling slowly (shift + prone movement) my character gets stuck as though the walk/run toggle has been turned to walk. What I've tried, and what I've observed: - I've tried to toggle run/walk it back to normal but it doesn't work. - I've tried rebinding the toggle run/walk key and rebinding left shift, but neither seem to work. - Disconnecting and reconnecting doesn't work, I have to restart the game. - I've tried switching from prone, to crouch, to standing and variations of switching between the three but no change. - I attempted to sprint which worked until I stopped again, reverting back to constant walking. Even while sprinting I was still running at 3/4 speed than normal. - The walking animation seems to progressively get slower as I keep attempting to fix it, almost like slow motion. - Once I managed to get myself back into running while crouched, but I was still only moving at 3/4 speed, and when I stopped I returned to the slow walking again. - Every time it has happened, I've been newly respawned with my torch still in my backpack rather than in my hands. It seems completely random as to when it happens, and I've attempted to reproduce it outside of the mod but it doesn't seem to affect me. I've been hit by it approx. 6 times now, using both my laptop and PC. I own the Steam version, but start the game without using the Steam overlay. Does that sound like an engine, mod or user-end problem?

If you're in a vehicle the zeds won't spawn. For some reason it doesn't class you as being in the area if you're in the vehicle, thus no spawns of zeds. If someone has been there previously then the zeds will chase after you regardless, but you can sit in the middle of a town with no zeds in a car forever, and they won't spawn until you get out of the vehicle. Also the Makarov spawn rate needs to be lowered a bit. They're -everywhere- and tending to replace items such as food, etc. If there's going to be so many around, may as well start with them again. I love everything about the update, the only thing I'm finding difficult to even begin to understand is the change of the night-time lighting, even with a full moon, but *shrug*. I do agree though that melee should have been introduced before weapons removed at spawn. Even if a melee attack with an axe still only forces the zeds into their prone crawl animation so you can get away, it would be better. -
Have the Zeds become as deaf as a doorpost in 1.7.1 or is that a bug? It also seems to be rather selective. I can fire off a Lee Enfield and have nothing chasing me, but firing a pistol with no other Zeds nearby can cause a wave of 3-4 further Zeds chasing me that came out of nowhere. That could also be the head lolling thing, but a Lee Enfield not grabbing attention anymore? Also you can run around like a headless chicken and they won't hear you, as long as you're not in LoS. Working as intended?

The only issue I've come across regarding the new ammo changes is that if I had more than one 1911 mag in my main inventory (not bag) it wouldn't let me convert it to .45 ACP. The game told me I didn't have the 1911 mag when I clearly did. When I limited it to one 1911 mag in my inventory and the rest in my bag, it would work. I just had to do them all one by one There didn't seem to be an issue the other way around. That is assuming I'm not completely confused, and that is what the new system was for?
