Well, basically, I would like to have the ability to equip a chemlight on my belt instead of throwing it, because during the night, I just can't throw around chemlights and flares constantly, lighting up half the countryside and leaving a oh-look-a-newbie trail behind me. You could say that I can just equip my flashlight instead, but that means I have to drop any sidearm I may have (if I don't have any room in my bag) and run around completely helpless. Bottom line, being able to attach a chemlight to my belt means that I can see around me during the night, without leaving a trail behind me, but I run the risk of being a painted target, easy to be ambushed (but not helpless since I can use my firearms) or sniped. The main reason I want to see this happen is the fact that NVGs are very hard to come by, especially in public hive servers. For the reason stated above I consider this balanced and still worse than NVGs, so their value does not increase at all. Tell me what you guys think about this, any constructive criticism is appreciated!

I already knew about weapons with flashlights, but they are not the easiest to find. However I did not know you could pick up chemlights like that. It would make sense to do so with a secondary, but can you do it with all the other wapons as well? If yes, my thread just became pointless :P

Yeah, I loved that about FC3, it made hunting interesting, especially since it had hostile animals (sth DayZ lacks as of now, but I heard it's going to be added in the SA). I would love to have a choice in how to upgrade my equipment. Let's say I go to a military base for a Coyote Backpack, but I don't find one, but if I search a bookshelf it could have a somewhat-larger-than-a-backpack-spawning chance to contain a crafting recipe for it, then I could go hunting in order to upgrade into such a backpack instead of camping out of the base until I find it. I thing such a mechanic would add quite a bit of variety in the game than just looting for stuff and basing everything on luck.

Why do that? IMO, since you got bested by another squad, they deserve the loot and you should not deprive it from them, which leads me to... do not, I repeat, do not put this feature in the standalone, it's stupid.

Doesn't really seem like it ;) But you can have some beans for it!

You change channels by pressing "," or "." there are the "Side" "Direct" "Group" (which is 100% useless in DayZ) and the "Vehicle" channels. In order to type in the specific channel's chat you press "/" type whatever you need to type and then press "Enter". Hope I helped :) And remember that not all servers have the Side chat enabled.
