    Only thing I am not sure I am going to like is the "push X to aim" thing, unless it can be turned into a toggle (pretty much what a lot of FPS games do with aiming down your sights, you have the option to press X to toggle ADS on and off or hold X down to ADS and release to return to hip fire, although here it will be more like raise/keep raised your weapon, rather than aim). I don't want to have to go through an animation when turning around a corner to find 5 zombies waitng for me in Cherno just because my hand got tired from holding down X to keep my weapon up.

    You are completely ignorant of the fact that Rocket stopped working on the updates of the mod, aren't you? Rocket is focusing his work on the Standalone, any updates to the mod are done ONLY by community members atm and Rocket has nothing to do with that.

    It all sounds good, but there is one thing I am worried about. I currently have an ALICE pack, which is full, after the patch goes live and the ALICE pack's space becomes smaller, will I lose some of my stuff in there?

  13. I fully support this idea as long as timing is realistic and doesn't happen every single time. If it has a % chance of spawning them over the body after 1-3 hours of the time of death it would be pretty nice. Also they should stay there only for a limited amount of time, eg. 1-2 hours and then disappear imo.

    Public or Private Hive?

    Private Hive with password protection to avoid hackers and for the custom loot/vehicle tables. Very rarely, pubs for the vanilla experience.
  18. I died by a couple of hackers on [DE 2165], a public hive server. I am tired of dying in pub hive servers by hackers (who have terrible aim by the way, if they didn't have godmode, I would have killed one of them, it took them around 3 minutes to kill me alone in a clearing and I only had an AK vs their M4s) so I made this thread to ask you guys if you know any good private hive servers, and what I have to do to join them (I have been playing DayZ for only 2 months now, and I've never played on a private hive before, so any advice about them would be appreciated). Good luck in your endeavors, Arma.

  21. I need a pair of NVGs, I am willing to trade anything in my gear except for my Hatchet and Hunting Knife. Gear currently in my possession that I am willing to trade: 1 AKS-74u w/ Kobra (+2 mags) 1 M9 (+5 mags) 2 Packs of Flares 1 Pack of blue Chemlights 1 Empty Water Bottle 2 Sodas 2 Cans of Food 5 Bandages 4 Raw Meat 1 Regular Binoculars 3 Epi-Pen 1 Box of Painkillers 1 Pile of Wood 1 ACU Assault pack I know that if you have NVGs you are probably better equipped than me and might not find anything of use in my equipment, but I think this was worth a try. If you are interested, just post here what you want, and we will arrange the details like server, time and place through PMs. Now that is over with, I would also like to ask a question, what are the general rules of engagement during a trade? Like, do we have to salute as a signal, drop my the stuff on the ground and then the other guy takes it and drops his stuff? As you can tell I am pretty new to DayZ (and even newer to the forums as you can tell from my posts).

    Cancel that, just got killed by 2 hackers after they crashed their heli near me. if you see someone named SCARFACE in a DE server, don't bother logging in.
  23. Well, by removing the exaggerated stuff, it now has less animations, but I still prefer that over pulling entire iron bars out of my stomach, without bandaging or doing anything else for that matter and start running like nothing happened.
  24. I like all of the ideas except the humanity one. I prefer the paranoia of trusting a survivor of killing him. Other players should only identify you from skin as a bandit survivor or hero, nothing more, nothing less. As for yourself, a personal stats screen, seperate from the in-game UI but easily accessible from the esc menu would be nice to see your exact stats whenever you want, and does not subtract from the immediate gameplay. Maybe even an option for sth like the debug monitor as an HUD would be nice, like you have 3 options, default (no HUD, just the in-game clues of your stats, basicaly what Rocket is planning on doing), classic (the icons we already have) and board (exact statistics in a box, basicaly the stats menu I mentioned before, but compact, with only the important stats shown, in other words... a debug monitor).
  25. I like this! I always liked that about Far Cry (Ubisoft era), it gave some sense of a body in an FPS like no other game had done before. Although it was a bit far-fetched at times, like you had an iron bar go through your stomach and you just pulled it out doing nothing afterwards (Far Cry 2 only, they fixed most of than in Far Cry 3). Also, if it includes such a system, it should utilise the medical supplies of DayZ instead of the infinibandage Far Cry has and use longer animations, where your character is more careful treating to his wounds than in Far Cry (Bullet in my arm, no problem, I'll just push it out the other side in 2 seconds and be just fine!)
