you must have hdr set to very low to run -winxp. this is also the only way for most who want to use shadowplay. -

This is exactly the issue. I think there is also a problem with invisible parts of trees still having collision where nonexistent branches would be. For example, a floating but stationary leaf that seems unattached to any tree will stop a bullet. -
If you find a PU scope, the mosin dominates the M4 with anything.

Sick and tired of joining a server and losing my character

Most character resets happen from switching servers too fast as many have already said, but it's not directly limited to switching servers. I have on multiple occasions red chained on both empty and full servers just to find my character dead for no reason and reset by the server while still in the server. No body or anything. Makes me wonder if perhaps the server simply overwrites your data if it can't properly find any for that player in a timely manner? -
If this is the case, then there is also a bug that is either showing broken scopes as pristine, or some pristine scopes still shooting to the left. I've gone through a few pristine scopes with the same problem.

I've noticed no difference between the quality of long range scopes. It definitely shoots to the left on pristine.

Yes, that is most likely the case. You have a good amount of dispersion if crouched or standing but with bipod it is fairly accurate minus shooting to the left. You don't really notice it until you start hitting targets over 400-600m. At 700m I find myself aiming a full shoulder length to the right of the target to hit center mass.

I agree with all this. I really hope to see lots of guns that would be found in the countryside. I don't even mind AK variants and SKS's since they make more sense given the location. I don't even think a majority of the guns people want even make sense in Chernarus. I am not aware of any NATO or US military stationed around post-soviet countries, but feel free to correct me. All the M4/M16/M14/DMR/G3/FAL/BMG/LAPUA/M60/M249/MG36/PKP/MP5/UMP/SVD/ETC should just stay away from DayZ or be rare enough someone can't server hop 50 times in one location to find it.

I rather not have DMR/M14/FAL's. We had enough of that in ARMA DayZ and that would be all anyone would want to obtain due to overwhelming dominance over every weapon. I really would enjoy more use of older or civilian weapons as it feels much more authentic than running around with a loaded out M4 or M14/DMR/Battle Rifle after a few hours of farming a military camp which I guarantee will be 90% of the game if added.

Weapon damage, are they ever going to improve it?

Pistols definitely need to be back how they were before they nerfed them way back. M1911 and Revolver did do way too much damage against zombies back when it was more powerful, but it really shouldn't require 5-6 aimed shots in the chest to kill someone who has no body armor at all. Low tier weapons aside from Lee Enfield could probably use a slight to moderate damage increase as well since shotgun slugs are horrible and Winchester loses accuracy after 50 meters like there's a 10 pound weight attached to each bullet. Pellets are still pretty awesome though! -

This is how I learned, I spawned every air vehicle in the game on a Chernarus scenario and flew everything. Might be a good idea to server force a view distance so you can remove that annoying fog. Think you just make a Game Logic and type in "setviewdistance 5000" or whatever you want. -
Tents previous of patch re spawn gear every restart allowing for duping. New tents usually disappear every restart.

1.7.5 is all fucked up. Tents disappear every restart and if you had a tent up already before patch, then your tent will forever re spawn your loot inside allowing you to dupe... again. Sigh. Makes me wonder who tests these patches before releasing them.

Hey, I recently noticed there are pretty much NO public servers anymore for me. I just filtered out empty servers and anything that wouldn't be OFFICIAL and there are barely any servers that have more than 5-10 people on them and even then, those are almost all overseas. Whats going on with the publics? I mostly play HIVE but just thought I would hop in a public to pass time. Took a screen cap in case I did something wrong? Thanks

Ok thanks, all of those sound like reasonable and legitimate reasons unfortunately. I didn't know if either the public server population dropped drastically lately or if it was something wrong on my end. Had no idea no one can make anymore mew public servers. Thanks! -

Billy Mays Remembrance Foundation has the highest quality servers, and soon even more so upgrading to (900 dollars a month server costs) but it is a very competitive community meaning there are a lot of bandits who have been playing for a long time. It is whitelisted and rarely encounters hackers. The hive is also interconnected with its multiple servers so if one is full you can easily use the next with same character. www.bmrf.me -
im having same issue as well as 4-5 friends. about half the servers on the list are now greyed out no matter what version used.

3+ Group Seeking - Private Hive [Whilelist]

Hey, a few of my friends and I have been trying to play DayZ the past few weeks but keep experiencing admin abuse in Private Hives. This has ruined the mod for us repeatedly due to spending a week on a server gathering every day then a childish admin kills us all for his/her own amusement. Admins seem to always break the legitimacy of the game as well. Would a "whiteserver" Private Hive be a good direction to go where we must request access? I just want to find a hive where we can enjoy the mod legitimately without fear of hackers and admins ruining the game by doing what they want that was not intended. I had somewhat skimmed through a few of the server lists for password/whitelist ones that were active but honestly don't know where to start in terms of finding ones that have good reputation. We are all US as well. Thanks!
