I lonewolf it most of the time. Sometimes feel like I want to get into a good group of peeps, though my playtime is weird in the amount of time I can play and when, so it hasn't happened yet. Lots of fun LWing though. You always have to be on your toes, careful not to get hurt to badly as you have no one to help you, and grow eyes on the back of your head. :)

Find a hatchet, it kills Zeds Good :D Hold onto the hunting knife though as it will allow you to gut animals, after you've killed them with a hatchet, for meat that you can cook. Very useful when you get low on health and don't have someone with you to bloodbag ya.

So last night I'm in Berezino and had just looted the supermarket and hospital and decided to check out the cafe. I go upstairs and find my first Mountain Dew...YAY!... Damn the curse I'm holding on to this I think. Take off and figure its time to get out of the city and trek inland. Start working my way northeast, come around a building and a dirtbike is sitting there. Figure what the hell, Ive never seen one ingame so i check it out. Its all green and gassed up. Oh boy, lets take it for a spin. Jump on and start it up, making all kinds of noise so here comes the Zeds. I start going forward but not very fast. I can barely turn it and start to get worried about the zeds. I dont know what I'm doing and I bounce it off a car and go up on top of a pile of rubble, it wont go forward any longer. A smart survivor might say screw it and hop off lesson learned. Not me. I start backing it up off the pile. The zeds arrive and start trying to eat me, so I ditch the bike and take off. Work my way around to lose them and make my way back around to the bike to find Ive wrecked it. I think its time for a trip to the armory to do some practice driving.... :) So whats your best "worst" vehicle moment?

When I find vehicles/helos gassed up and in working condition, it almost always ends up with the thing crashed and me bleeding... or worse. No big deal to me about running in DayZ :) I was interested in Rocket talking about the weapons in the game. Love the fact it seems like they want to focus more on melee, handguns, regular rifles, and some assault weaps, and less on high tech military pew pew death cannon howitzers. We will see if that holds up but its encouraging.

A couple weeks ago, I had finally worked up the courage to check out green mountain. I got there and a lil bird was parked right next to the barracks. I sat in a tree for a bit thinking someone had stopped to loot. No one came back so I thought I was safe. It was full of stuff, was fully gassed and all parts were green. Oh man was I excited. I had practiced helos in the armory for a bit so I started her up and took off. About 30 minutes later, someone started shooting an as-50 at me and several big Booms rocked my lil bird. Holy Shit I figure rockets were being fired at me too. The helo was slightly damaged but they were either really bad shots or I was lucky. I kept flying around practicing and got more bold so started flying at lower altitude. Of course I clipped the treetops and crashed. All that equipment destroyed. I laughed because I was injured but didnt die. So the Peeps on US46 that lost a lil bird full of equipment because some bambi found your helo at green mountain....... Im sorry :blush:

LMAO, man I would love to use a Bandit as a speed bump. :P

The only ATV I've found was a burnt out hulk so I haven't had the opportunity to embarrass myself with one of them....YET :)

Hmmm, it does suck when you lose stuff, life etc to a glitch/bug but it is a mod. I wouldnt sweat it, I know its lame advice but hey start fresh and get out there and scavenge. :D Have you tried logging back into the original server and see if you spawn in with your stuff?

Hey at least we know now. No worries here, I'd like it to be sooner but good to get a possible date so I dont have to worry about it til then. I mean its not like I'm not going to get it because its not coming out tomorrow. When we get it it will be a happy day.

You must of found one of the weaponless servers. I havent played on one of those yet but I think your supposed to reason with the Zeds.

Talk to your therapist. He/She can give you much better advice than a bunch of video game enthusiasts. Not bashing anyone who gave advice. Who knows maybe you and your therapist can use DayZ as a tool to combat your phobia. Wow, Wait til the media got a hold of that one. Rocket, video game maker, mountain climber,.....psychologist?

I've a MSI GE70. I play on mostly high with 30-40FPS, occasionally dips below 30 but not often and not much below 30. Sometimes get higher than 40 but usually in that range. Only problem is yea it can get hot if I use intel turboboost but never gets hot if I disable it. And of course I'm at a bit of a disadvantage using only a 17' screen but if there are reasons why a laptop is your only option, you can have a great time playing DayZ. As others have said, make sure it has a dedicated GPU (I prefer nvidia). Get a good temperature monitoring program and use it. i was wondering about that, I'm getting 7-10fps improvement from our servers updating to latest update. Was pleasantly surprised. :D

I was hesitant to whitelist because I felt the same way, but seriously, no one has forced a conversation since I joined teamspeak. I just go to an unused channel and go about my business. But its nice to have the option to get into a channel with some peeps if you ever teamup. Hope to see ya ingame on US46 if you decide to get whitelisted. :)

The devs have said that there is a ton of optimization going on with the new engine......BUT....they figure most of that will be eaten up with the new stuff coming. Rocket, or was it Matt said they expect that if you can run the DayZ mod, you'll be able to run the SA. Hope that helped. :)

Unfortunately, its the only DayZ I'll get for awhile, stupid gaming computer having problems and this crappy thing is only good for email and light web surfing. >:(

Grats on your first post! :) Don't fall in love with your stuff.... I find that a hard thing to do myself, but as someone else told me when I first started playing, "you'll enjoy the game so much more if you don't". If you go everywhere in game, thinking your being watched and acting as if everyone is using low graphics settings, that wouldn't be a bad idea. Have fun :thumbsup:
