Because in Soviet Russia...... sorry that's all I got. I like the setting but it would be cool if the signs were in a few different languages. Ive seen some signs in places that had the native language then a couple other languages under it. Not a biggie but would be nice. Probably more time than its worth as it would take away time from other parts of the project. Still oh man what Id give for a map of Portland, Oregon. Perfect city and surrounding region for a Zombie apocalypse.

I dont like being given anything when I spawn on the coast. Seems kind of pointless to start out with anything other than a flashlight, bandage, and painkillers. Explore, go scavenge, Survive. This is DayZ. The first couple days I played, I played in darkness and it was crazy, but now I actually prefer it when sneaking around a city. Never have found a NVG. I do up the gamma a bit so I can see a couple feet in front of me though.

I don't know, I haven't killed anyone. I'd probably feel pretty crappy about it, but considering they will have to had shot at me first, I'll get over it when it happens.

You need Arma 2, and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead. They can be bought on steam as a bundle called Arma 2: Combined Operations. My suggestion is then is go to DayZ Commander and download that. It will download the Arma2 Beta stuff and DayZ mod, and keep them up to date for you. Its interface is nice and helpful in finding servers to play on, and maps to download. Nice features too. I hadnt heard of it til yesterday, but watched it. Its a great idea. They need to work on some things, the commentators and cam views being high on the list. If they polish those two things up, it will be vastly improved. The ability for cheating is so high, but i dont know how you make sure that players arent getting outside info. They need to look into that. For the love of all thats good and holy......ENFORCE the rules! Puddin should of been kicked and the 2 guys that took forever to get over the bridge should of died. If the bombing run script didnt work correctly, an official should of come in and disqualified them. Poor Lisikk, I was rooting for him. But I dont blame the ingame events. they add to the confusion which enhances the game IMO. Great idea that I think if they work on it could be a big deal, and great exposure for the game.

I dont know, wouldnt you have to have the ability to give yourself a blood transfusion for it to be realistic? /sorry really bad joke but I just couldnt resist.

This is going to sound so silly, BUT I loved fishing in WoW. Id kill for a fishing pole and the ability to catch fish. Im sure Id be an easy kill, sitting there like a target dummy, but hey this is an open sandbox game right? More options for play in that sandbox are always good.

I havent been playing long so take what I say with a grain of salt. 1. One thing I found is TAKE IT SLOW. This game rewards you for taking a breath, looking around, making a plan, and not rushing blindly in. 2. The hatchet is your best friend. After you find one, learn how to equip it, RELOAD IT (the R button) and practice a few swings with it. It will be your best, Zed killing tool. 3. Dont get attached to your stuff. You WILL lose it. The cool thing is youll find it all again...unfortunately youll lose it all again, but woot!, youll find it again... 4. Dont spam sidechat if its enabled. Always use direct chat if you want to talk to someone close. Use a microphone. The time you save to say something as opposed to typing it in may save your life. 5. Once you get tired of hackers on public servers, try a private whitelisted server. Im loving my time on Balota Buddies US 46. Have fun, its a great experience. :) There are a bunch of guides on this forum that will give you so much great info on the game. Finished getting whitelisted tonight (Thanks STEAK and Potatoes!). I'm playing on US server and sure was nice not having to deal with hackers. I even found some matches tonight, up til now they have eluded me. :P No one went apeshit crazy over TS, I was a little worried about having to always have TS on, but its really no big deal. Thanks again, super happy to be part of the server. Now I just need to make a BALOTA BUDDIES sig and I'm in business. EDIT...Changed to actually use Steak and Potatoes real username... not meat and potatoes /smh :blush:

Ran into a big metal warehouse with a stair up to a second level gangway, that ran around the inside of the building. I had some Zeds chasing me. While inside checking the room upstairs another survivor runs in. I watch him and all these Zeds start coming into the building. He shoots a couple and runs out of ammo for his rifle so he heads up the stairs and sees me. He pulls out a sidearm and says "stick close to me". I, having played the game all of a couple hours, decide on a different approach. I "V"ault over the handrail and promptly break my leg. Zeds everywhere. I try to get up but having broken my leg I cant so i start rolling away from the nearest Zed. This poor guy, I swear, shoots a couple on the way to me, tries to bandage me and then give me some morphine. All the while I'm rolling around trying not to get eaten. Hes like, yea roll away from that guy, no not too far. Ok, jsut a sec let me kill this one, STAY ALIVE , I'll help you. I just hope He made it out of there after I died. I jsut once want to be as nice as that guy to a TOTAL Bambi.

"Aenema" by Tool. Edited of course, bits and pieces of that song still get me jazzed, sad, and creeped out to this day. I also agree on the Johnny Cash "When the Man Comes Around" referenece earlier. But might be too cliche for some since its been done before.
