Honestly, I think we should have separate forums for people who are bandits, or at least think are bandits, and those who are heros / survivors. This way it just leads to more silly arguments over the topic as to what is a bandit, what is not a bandit, how to play as a bandit... On topic: In my head you're an arse who shoots people who are no threat to you what so ever and have no better gear than you and in stead of teaching him how to play(as in how to survive, if we are going to keep it in an in character manner), you decided to take advantage of his being a new guy and all. I couldn't give two flying donkeys over who bandits kill, what I do care about is for what reason they kill them. Killing someone for better gear, holding them up for a robbery, killing them because they might be a threat or even if they are your enemies, in my eyes seems alright, if you are a bandit of course.(Of course if you're a survivor and have an enemy or someone is a threat to you, well, yeah, bang-bang...) But killing someone who is no threat, who could even be a possible aid to your cause, and is obviously new, makes it seem like you're the noob here and not him. My opinion probably doesn't matter here and everything I say is strictly my opinion and therefor cannot be changed, you may try but I will stay true to my opinion Sincerely, a guy who hates people like you.

Yup, remember my first day of being lost, didn't know how to use the waypoint blimp. I decided to go North, got a Lee Enfield. Then started to brag in chat how good I am for finding that gun, shot a lot of zombies, bragged about my zombie count, then after I moved so much up north, I figured out the blimp system and found myself at the most top left corner of the map, and died. ;(

Title was misleading. I want a car to have heating/cooling so that if your temperature is low, you could turn the heating on instead of having to find / use heat packs. :3

Another great way to slow up the already long process of joining the game, for people with slow PCs/LapTops Bravo!

This. Just having an object of the player would be handy because you could still possibly kill him, loot him, cuff him, do whatever you want. :P

As lovely and dandy as that sounds, I doubt many people even know how a hero skin looks like these days(given that all the people I've met so far have mostly been bandits) and plenty of them just panic and shoot people, of course some are decent. As for the topic, I disagree because some people like to work for their humanity, bandit or hero. I personally love the bandit skin and thus I want to have low- humanity :p

I had a laptop with lower specs than those and it ran around about 30-60 FPS; you should be fine, I've about 4GB Ram now and it runs on 30FPS and it's still smooth as butter. I think it'd run good :p Also, buy combined operations, it's the two games but in one and it's cheaper.

I hope this is the right section, couldn't find any other more appropriate. I'm not looking for answers such as: Look at the mod forum, it's a mod, it's dayz modded. I've already checked the website and it still didn't inform me that much. What I would like to know is, how is the PvP on that mod, does it depend on the servers? I've heard there's a crafting system and base building, how easy is it to do, how do you do it, is it practical? I've noticed in a few videos people have ounces of gold and you can use it to buy something for it and you can get gold at trader outposts? How does that work, are the traders randomly placed around the map, ARE there multiple traders, what's the money equivalent, like how many pieces of gold will you get from selling a makarov and how many pieces of gold will you need to buy a DMR? I also saw there are some really sweet cars in the mod such as BMW's and such, are there any more of the sort? Is it too modern? For example are there still plenty of zombies and PvP elements in the game? Because I would love to be able to build my own base and have some regular zombie or pvp combat action. Thank you for your time and not pissy comments(if you didn't post any :) )

This made me chuckle :) As for on topic matter; The game has, little to no rules giving you major freedom to play however you want(as long as it doesn't break any of the rules such as hacking/scripting and such.) While this is an option, people tend to sort of, abuse it? If you want to put it that way. I've seen plenty people both on forums and in game call themselves bandits, now the word bandit can, at least in this forum, mean multiple things, but the meaning of the word "bandit" I consider to be someone who for example pulls a guy over via voice/text chat asking him to place his gun on the ground, rob him and maybe in the worst case shoot the victims legs and run off with his gear. Now what some people here consider being a bandit is shooting everything that moves, breathes, is an object or life form and has a pulse. Which is the easiest way to play this game, you don't take any risks you just shoot everything. It's a lot harder to try and make friendships in game or talk to someone like a regular human being -would- do. Now, to not make this particular post look like a rant about bandits, here's something about "hero's". Most people here go around speaking of how much of a hero they are when in fact, they kill a good amount of people as well, because of good gear. I'm pretty beat of being killed on sight every now and then today so I'm going to go sleep now, enjoy reading this, hehe.

Yeah I've tried it just now because I've gotten bored. Lots of killing and some friendly banter and I've experienced some of the trading done and earning gold which I now somewhat understand, but how do you build bases? Is there any detailed guide on it?

Ah, just what I had feared... Thanks for the information, I'll be sure to steer clear of it then, do you perhaps know of any mods that offer base building and trading including more of a zombie / pvp kind of gamemode?

I've just rejoined myself and have little clue as to what has been going on(so if someone was to post his information here, he'd be helping me out as well, thanks :) ) The things I've noticed are there are a lot more mods(Origins, Epoch and stuff like that), the in-game hud has changed and it's very much.. prettier :D

After reading through the whole thing, not just reading the TL;DR thingy you have going on at the bottom of the post, here's my opinion on the matter: You helped someone out, taught them how to play the game and its rules, set him off with gear and then I take it you split ways after reaching the trader?(As far as I've gotten) and then after meeting up with him again, noticing he has good gear, good backpack and a good SUV you forgot how he trusted you, how you were halfway-through on making a friend and just decided to(pardon my language) fuck him over badly. If I were ever to do such a horrible thing as this one(I know it's a game and it's not meant to be taken seriously, but the game at least in my opinion acts like a real life simulator of what would happen in case of a zombie apocalypse which requires for you to use your real life judgments) as I was saying, if I were to do such a horrible thing as this one, I would do it slightly less evil, like taking his stuff, guns, damage his SUV slightly and leave him with that. Just seems horrible, something a bandit would do, but harsh non the less. Considering I dislike banditism or whatever this sort of gameplay it is you are pulling, I'm not very fond of you / the judgment you made in that scenario to kill him. :p

You have no choice really, a lot of people panic and shoot you on sight, if can try to talk to them but mostly they will turn around and take your gear.

It appears you're only focusing on the cons. Imagine you're in a place where you have to switch weapons fast while in a fight, and you have to specially select ammo and the gun? I like the way it works, and if you are a bit lazy to pick the ammo back up again, well. It's a nice suggestion, but isn't that in the game, and not in the mod? I have a feeling this is the same problem as when people complain on the DayZ forums about being banned by BE. I myself am not familiar with Arma scripting(I am with Pawno) but I doubt its possible. Its a minor issue, it depends if what type of person you are. Ex: If you are a pessimist you will see the bad in that(Like you having to drop the ammo), if you're an optimist you will realise it can be very helpful in certain situations like the ones mentioned above. Realists however see the positive and negative(Correct me if I'm wrong.) I don't agree. :)

What server do you play on? Seems better than what I'm playing on...

If you are using DayZ Commander, go to settings and check the small box saying Replace original Arma2OA files with Beta files so steam works. That will put your version 100% to the right one. If that doesn't work, welp. Side-note: Sometimes DayZ Commander says the Arma game patch is updated, but it really isn't ;)

Sounds like a big team. But yeah, not a lot of people do that kind of shit(Kill when trading). I mean, some do, but mostly not. Good luck to you.
