IMHO I think that will just make the game easier.. The game itself already has bandages, morphine and blood bags which make it so good(Since you cant give a blood transfusion to yourself). I am not a fan of the blood regen. system as SausageKingOfChicago said above. I feel like that will take out a large bit out of the survival concept. That's just my opinion :/

Considering that there are hackers on the loose still, and that they can spawn in any kind of object(As far as I've seen) it could result in every fifth person being a mechanic, military engineer and other... It would be nice but I doubt that you can just walk into an old military building and find a guide on how to make ammo -.-'

Depends, each person is different, I would like that... It would also protect the player himself mentally from going nuts if he didnt have any social interaction.(Only imaginative not like a real sickness just for the survivalish aspect) Support!

Some people have a high immunity system. (correct me if I'm wrong) But I like the idea, its so awesome. I mean if you just think about the atmosphere that creates. Imagine yourself in the forrest under some shelter in the woods, fire burning beside you, you're in your favourite coat and just feeling the warmth that surrounds you. Mmm..

Yes they should but if you think about it, this is an apocalypse, you know. People grabbing as much shit as they can carry and running for their lives from zombies... 250km2 and a high population which means they probably took their stuff and ran of into the woods. The looting quantities are fine as they are for now. Even too much if you ask me. Ive seen a couple of Let's Plays and when they came to a hospital there were 5-6 boxes filled with blood bags, morphine, bandages, heat packs and whatnot..

You obviously dont understand, the whole reason the survival is implented is because of zombies, if there werent zombies then sometime sooner or later they would all move back into towns and live their regular lives, but because there are zombies it gives you that extra feel that there is someone else out there other than some guy chasing newbies around spawn. So yeah, no zombies, people would just move back into towns sooner or later... There's no reason not to..

On Topic: I recommend you wait, seriously, if you want to play DayZ just wait untill the SA comes out, its better and its... a game itself and not a mod anymore, meaning it has better physcics engines and stuff.. But if you're so desperate to play then buy Arma 2 Comb. Operations , there's tons of mods to play on the game other than DayZ :D

The title matches, you obviously didnt look so far. Since the stand alone(That's right, the game itself) is soon comming out on steam itself, you probably wasted money, not to worry tho, others will still play on Arma 2 CO.. Probably untill they get money to buy the standalone.. So yeah, you should've waited but meh, my opinion. I suggest you try to find groups if not then just go to towns, loot, be on your guard, when you get enough loot(Bandages, blood bags, weapons, ammo, food, water) you go scavange some more around towns and woods to look for people and if you have a bandit style, go and kill them and pick up some more loot. If you're a survivor then save people, help people and continue the population of earth.. :D

I couldnt believe my eyes when I read the thread, no offence. But it seems like you just popped into the internet and think: Hey ! Let's change the whole concept of a game and why the people play it! *Facepalm I dont want to be mean, but just think about having vampires to run around and werewolves attacking random players. I dont get the meaning of your post, you didnt explain THAT much, or I'm just stupid. But you said you get infected, what then? You loose HP or something? Sorry I'm half asleep dont realy see. :P

You have an excellent point but I kinda like having the freedom of us having the abilities to choose between 1st person shoot and 3rd person shooter. Why? I dont realy know, it just.. fits? If you're so desperate to play in 1st person then just do. You cant controll others. I.E You cannot change other people, you can only change yourself :)

This is the problem in this post. Nobody knows how real zombies act, why? Stupid question, there are no real zombies.. Nobody knows will they be slow, fast, agile, able to interact in combat or any of that kind of stuff. We just dont know, no documentary has been posted on what zombies would be like in real life(Correct me if I'm wrong) but random assumptions of them being fast or slow wont work. Each zombie game chooses how they work, that's the concept, you can deal with it or leave, or post a nice poll to see how many people want to take the main concept out of the game which is "fear/horror".. And slow walking zombies, that's just not horrific at all, hell if I want that, I'd go to the center for old people -.-'

I had the same dilema lol, I have 2 and a half hours left to decide wether to buy it or not as its 50% off. And my final decision is NO. Not at all, think about it Didnt they say the SA will be released before 2013 mid January? And the game is 50% at the same month when they were supposed to release it. Maybe its a trick to fool into people taking Arma now when its cheap and play DayZ and the real SA will come out a few days later? Just my opinion, I didnt mean anything bad by fooling, more like joking around :D ... Just hold your horses untill the SA comes along, it may not be cheap but its worth it, trust me, if you've seen the screenshots, you want to wait :D

As you all may know, the SA will come out fairly soon as rocket said it will come out before 2013, but I'm thinking of buying Arma 2 Combined Operations right now, due its on discount. Its 12€ and in our country that's a fairly good price! But then again, if I buy this version, I wasted my money and the SA comes out and I cant buy the SA and everyone will be playing the SA... Pros: I get Arma 2 CO I can play already and not wait till the holidays pass Super mega fun enjoyment Cons: I waste my money, and I cant buy the SA I dont like Arma 2 Co, I waste the money on a game I dont like and I cant play DayZ due noone playing the mod on that game. Basicly, I need your suggestions, please D:? My opinion is to wait till the SA, buy the game and play it :P

I see your point but.. When the SA comes out finaly, it will be in alpha and it wont cost that much, and rocket will probably abandon the mod for Arma 2 so less and less players will be playing the mod rather then the SA. Do you see my point? SA will be cheap in Alpha, and then as we play Arma 2 CO mod DayZ, it will get left over and when the SA gets expensive(I.E gets in Beta and more) I wont be able to buy it. So it's probably better to wait for the SA Dont you think?

I'm not some kind of hobo who cant spare 12€ for a game, no... NO!.... I'm just, like, paranoid.. If you know what I mean. I am very carefull upon buying a game, 3 days before I decide I buy a game, my thoughts begin to make me unsecure. I think to myself: Do I realy like that game? What if it doesnt work? What if my PC cant handle it? Will I be wasting money? That's just how paranoid I am upon buying one. Now, I'm not an adult and I dont earn my own cash, so that makes it harder for me due I think what my parents would think if I waste that money for nothing, and then how angry they'd get if I'd ask for more cash to buy more games, get what I mean? Its a hard decision to make.. FYI off topic: I'm not a little brat that is full of it, just wanted to point that out. EDIT: By more games I meant the standalone :I

Well. Seems like a clear case, you had it comming. Now, when the SA comes along and I buy it, I recommend to you that you dont go within solo players, they are most likely to not want company or/and are bandits. If you find a group and not a group of bandits that is, team up with them, they are most likely in need of company and friends. Anyways That's just my opinion on all of this :D
