Meant afterwards the battle is done, so it acts like a consequence-type thing so theres consequences when you do this and that. Makes the game more interesting.

Also, rabbits don't have too much fat, and some people have died because all they ate in survival situations were rabbits. (and rabbits are hard to find and kill without a weapon)

You weren't infected from the beginning, where it was the brunt of the infection spreading, why should you be infected from walking near a dead body or something?

Making a bayonet with toilet paper as a "glue" and a razor doesn't sound very good, as the toilet paper will rip and razors aren't made for stabbing. Hunting knife, a rifle, and securely knotted rope could work if they decide to implement a crafting system. Molotov seems like a double-edged sword, hackers can easily grief with multiple molotovs, but if they fix hacking, it could work, although there will be that one occasional griefer. EDIT: You'd have to be sneaky to assassinate with a razor, and with that, you would have to be really close to assassinate someone, and if you're trying to assassinate an experienced player, they would detect you before you get close, and why use a razor when you have a gun, hence it is a BAYONET, not a knife. Although it could work if you're secretly following someone as an "ally" and you want to silently kill him.

Rifle/shotgun & pistol holsters.

Seems like a double-edged sword. 1. you could move more quickly, but maybe not fire as quick, but if they implement some kind of mechanic where if you're in physical contact of a hostile, such as a zombie, they can grapple you to the ground putting you in a less-defensive position. -
[SA] Cooking at campfire
thegalakrondian replied to florian.de.los.santos@googlemail.com's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like it, although different types of fire should restrict or increase the amount of smoke seen or the smell of burning coals and cooking meat, by doing that it can increase or decrease the chance of a player and/or zombie contacting you. EDIT: In DayZ, there's only one type of fire, would be interesting if they added more types. -
I see.

I like it, but there should be some boundaries... (ex one little orange shouldn't completely reset your hunger, should only stave it off for a little bit) You would have to collect ALOT of small little oranges to reset your hunger completely because most plants/vegetables don't have a lot of fat, you would have to scavenge constantly. Eating a player when a player has already been eaten by zombies doesn't sound very safe or tasty for that matter. I like fishing ;)

I want a pink bunny costume with a big red target on my head with a big red arrow pointing right between my eyes.

Maybe a quick nap system could work, dunno about a full on campsite 12 hour sleep.

sigh, why not?

Don't think the Zed's motor-skills are functioning well enough to properly and accurately fire a gun at you. But the weapons/objects they were using/holding right before they died I guess could be used as a club or something.

I like it but if an item-durability system of some sort was implemented and someone shot at your bladder, it should break, leaving you wet and prone to hypothermia in cold temperatures and damaging you and the item(s) affected, etc etc.

Shooting out of the passenger seats of vehicles
thegalakrondian replied to KA4LxTITANx's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Would be nice, although I don't think most people would wait for you to get as close to get a slightly accurate shot, they would be firing rounds if they saw a machine gun sticking out of a windshield aimed for their head while the car is driving atleast 100mph. Another thing is not everyone is going to be on a road for most of their DayZ adventures, I guess you can do it off-road with a good off-road vehicle. Then it adds the situation for car crashes would be interesting if you shot out the wheels when the car is moving at 100mph and the car flips over 720 degrees and BAM. I see it like it depends on your situation kind of case. ;) -
There is different ways to set up your fire (cone shaped, well shaped, embers) in real life, if that was implemented in DayZ, that would be pretty cool. Different variations tend to have different benefits and different disadvantages in real life.

It seems unrealistic that a normal, average Joe Schmoe that wandered out of his house during a current-day post-apocalyptic Russia would have the elite conditioning of a full-jacked soldier of any caliber... That leads me to the point of this thread. If you happen to find a full set of camo clothing and put that on, it should have an impact on your speed, mobility, and stamina. It should also affect your temperature in snowy conditions because from all that running around and sweating, if you didn't know, water drains heat from your character's core body temperature 25% faster in normal air (little or no humidity). That being said, weight and encumbrance should affect your core body temperature also. In unfamiliar terrains with different weather conditions, such as deep snow, should slow your movement speed. I haven't heard of a weight % encumbrance system, however, if any of you played Mount and Blade, the game has weight & encumbrance for example. Just my two cents.

Weight, encumbrance, stamina, speed

Very nice. -
Um, I think the item(s) that were hit should be affected (ex. you shoot someone, the bullet hits some cans of food in his backpack, the cans are destroyed, OR you shoot someone in the foot, the boot they were wearing take durability damage or is unusable.) I think if you damage something, you can repair it if you have the skills to do so, you shouldn't take durability damage on the item(s) unaffected.

If you were to add more armor plating to an existing vehicle, it should affect speed, mobility, control, balance, sudden acceleration, armor health, how easily/hard it can fall. etc. Say if you were to have one side of a bus full of metal plates, the other side no plates. A player rams a car into the side of the bus that does not have the plating... 1. It causes heavy damage to the side of the bus that does not have plating. 2. It should cause the bus to go into an unbalanced state. 3. Increased chance of tipping over. Also, not everyone is a car mechanic that know how to manufacture equipment pieces on spot, so I suppose there should be a system worked out for a skill set/tree/talents/etc. Lots of variables. Trailers sound interesting, because of it's low spawn rate, it shouldn't affect a player's gaming experience. Engine swaps, then again, not everyone in real life know how to do that, so I guess they can work out a skill set/tree/talents/etc.

Erm, seems weird that the only people that will survive are soldiers... -
Should we have a place where a group of people could hideout or camp such as a man made structure like a camp or a natural geographic structure like a cave? If we did, what kind of boosts/healing/restoring would it do to your player's health, stats, inventory, etc? The cons? I'm just curious.
