What if we could set up old Russian soviet mines in some places (I would say even rarer than the m107 or the rocket launcher) and arm a trap (that would require a shovel and would have diffirences to normal ground) to both vehicles and players to blow up sky-high. Is it way overpowered, what do you guys think?

Usually land mines are underground but covered pits are a good idea too

Its just a cool little feature to end game people that want to set up traps and it would have ideally a 65%' percent chance of exploding

It would be the most rare item since they would be from back in the cold war and maybe they have a chance of not working (since they are old) and you would need a shovel to plant it (so there is no way of putting them in the road) and you could tell the difference between normal grass and mines

Everything in green has been edited So as you may know today in day z it is pretty easy to hit a target from far away with your AS50 so here are my suggestions so it can be far more realistic. 1.Wind. So in many other games the wind greatly takes effect when you are using the sniper so im thinking that if we could implement this into the game the player should have a way to know the direction and intensity of the wind here are the examples of how that could happen. -Players withouth sniping tools(this is an option for players that only have a compass): i think this players should be able to feel the wind by the sound and maybe by an sound that could be selected when they are holding their snipers in wich your character says very silently that the wind is going in X direction and its Y strong (and maybe if they are lacking time in adding sound's they should just put a text in the screen that says that. -Players with anemometers(tools that can check the velocity and direciton of air precisely) these players can pretty much discover the exact velocity of air and the direction in wich it is blowing by simply clicking a hot key and if they have the anemometer it will show up on the screen pretty much like the compass and the watch shows up. #NOTE:Since the bullets of .50 snipers will be pretty rare non-prepared or non-skilled players will think twice before taking a shot at a unarmed player because it will be pretty much wasting precious bullets trying to hit persons that don't threat them at all (be noted that this doesn't take the possibility of bandits shotting noobs at elektro if he has the skill and the bullets.) 2.Bypods and Weight Today holding a sniper and taking a shot from snipers are pretty much the same as any other weapon so i think if you were to fire a sniper while standing up (the heavy .50 caliber snipers like AS50's and M107's) it would take a lot more recoil than if you took it while crouched or prone. -Bypods(sometimes found with snipers and sometimes found alone) Bypods would completely remove recoil and add a lot more of movement to the sniper. -Weight snipers take up the same spots in the inventory as any primary weapon so i personally think that snipers should take at least 2 to 5 slots more in the backpack and it should make people who are caring it move slower and get tired faster. 3.Sound I think the sound that snipers make should temporarily make the snipers that are using it deaf (much like flashbangs) this could be implemented in other cases (assault rifles,sub machine guns etc) but this post is especialized in snipers so to remove the effect of deafness if you don't like it you could wear audio proof headphones that make it so you don't get the effect and if you dont use them you will eventually go deaf of so much noise. 4.Especialization Factor In today's days there is no such thing as especialization in something at day z so if the devs made helicopters realistic for example it would make it so you need to find someone who can fly a helicopter before you try to fly one or you would probraly crash afterwards ,making so you can have a especialized squad where every member has his owns abilities but if you want you could try and master them all (rocket had the idea that if you were good at something IRL you should be good at it in the game).

idk if day z needs a super pc to run it but it's always good to have one anyways my laptop is from dell and runs most games better than some desktops out there(still the better choice is to build a desktop but i dont have the money's or the space to put one) -
with the recent news that say that the standalone is near to getting released i am very excited but i have been really wanting to buy the mod for a long time but i am not sure if i can hold it any more so i am asking for you guys opinion should i buy it or wait

guys thanks for the suggestions and i think im gonna buy the mod now and play it even when the standalone is out (gonna buy both)as a 14 year old spoiled son of a bitch i dont have money problems and as for the zombie speed i think it should have something to do with zombie life circle as rocket sad so young zombies fast and old zombies slow anyways thanks for the tips. -
Today by the bugs of the mod it's hard to be stealthy withouth zombies giving away your position entirely to the snipers so this modes are a suggestion on how we could improve on zombies and stealth. Zombie Research Mode: Today when zombies hear your gunshot or sound they just go straight running at you like they know EXACTLY where you are so instead of this zombies should go in research mode where they search the area by walking near the gunshot sound or footsteps and when they do find you then all the zombies searching go running at you. Ways to flank zombies: Now that we have talked about reasearch mode why not talk about distracting zombies this could be done by throwing tins of cans,rocks,bottles that make sound and would put nearby zombies in research mode then you can use that as a distraction so you can get where you want(of course players can make the difference between tins of cans hitting the ground and footsteps but however zombies can't because they are dumber) This shouldn't be so hard to code it would be like throwing granades or chemlights but instead of the explosion or light it would only make a noise that would distract the zombies long enought so you could get to your objective. Trash is usefull: Those empty tin cans could be used as a distraction or either could be refilled with food,water or even petrol!Places like the broken down castles or hospitals would have trash such as broken glass,rocks,bricks,broken syringes,etc infinit possibilities! Hope you liked my ideas and if you have a input or criticism i will be happy to hear it

@jaytmu man i don't expect the game to be perfect right of the bet i just want the major glitches to be fixed during the closed beta testing(such as breaking legs by walking throught doors)because these really break gameplay sometimes and should be fixed before they moving into the super cool features -

if you see the euroexpo video with rocket talking about the standalone you will notice the real problem as he sad is zombies and how great amount of them make you lag that why cities are laggy and that he greatly improved them by making them more simple in the code. -

i kinda like the feel of they doing this like minecraft because minecraft has a very active community and a dev team that cares for the community.as for the zombies if you haven't seen them you should because they are faster than uzain bolt right now so if they increse the speed they will praticly teleport.as for what i want them to be i want them to be hard but if you got the skills you could easily flank them by throwing rocks,bottles,etc(yes i want them to be like the dumb cops in hitman games lol). -

they asked a lot of questions about the bugs and the stand alone and it sounded like they still need to fix a lot of bugs and some of them might even take a total start up from scratch to be done(some might even be impossible to fix).and something i laughted about was that he sad he would increase the speed of zombies -

i actually got the news from the tumblr post that has been quoted in your link and it says that there all there is left is to test the closed beta and then they will start thinking about a release date.The only reason that would make it delay a lot was if the closed beta testing lasted more than 1 month -
go play war z man there you spawn with flash-light that works as a melee weapon and you have a map where it shows where you are so.

some very good criticisms here so based on those im gonna take out the first topic and the BF3 reference
