[SA]Zombies attracted to dead bodies
TreeMan (DayZ) replied to Xianyu's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yeah, I've seen one or two threads about zombies/animals destroying bodies, but anyway it is a good idea. And zombies being too busy eating to care about people around would also be good, like OP stated, one could give zeds some food and go around looting at the meantime. -
Well, I've always loved forests, I have a ghillie suit and some other camouflaging stuff, and I feel comfortable just hiding somewhere in the woods.

DayZ (or ArmA) really has some awesome views, and northern Chernarus looks beautiful, especially at sunset like in the video. That's what I really appreciate in the game, and I appreciate even more when someone makes a video just about that. Immediate beans and a sub from me. dat cliffhanger at the end of 2nd video

Putting an End to "Can I run it?"
TreeMan (DayZ) replied to applejaxc's topic in New Player Discussion
Well there's this http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri -
Yeah, that's definitely a good idea. And another thing with smell, when hunting animals. Many animals can smell unnatural scents from hundreds of meters away, so if you have a ghillie suit and are completely still animals could still smell you and run away. Standing near a fire will make you smell like smoke, which makes animals think of forest fires and they run away, but a day old smoke scent means that a forest fire has stopped for the animals, and they don't give a crap, so that's one thing to get closer to your prey with.

Military safe zones in the SA?
TreeMan (DayZ) replied to Lucky_Luffy's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Maybe military camps with military AI's guarding it, shooting at everything that moves? You could raid it and find some decent loot. But the original idea wouldn't really work. -
If only you could crawl in one of those washing machines laying in the streets.

Paranormal shenanigans
TreeMan (DayZ) replied to thunderjaguar6's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn. -
So, as the title says, why not make hand signals? I know, people will respond, as how it is, people use teamspeak/skype/any other out of game thingies to communicate, but some people just want to keep it in the game, or if you meet someone you can't chat out of game with. Hand signals are silent and quick, but then there comes realism. Not just any survivor knows all the complicated military signals and stuff, but some simple things like shoving your hand down or up or some basic things that get the message to friendlies without everyone knowing you are there would be good.

Wired: How a near-death experience inspired a blockbuster zombie game
TreeMan (DayZ) replied to SmashT's topic in Mod Announcements & Info

I have so many feelings right now. It's like the ending of a really good movie, you don't really want it to end just yet but then you have witnessed something awesome that you'll never forget. I'm going to drink a lot of Pepsi later this night and cry myself to sleep.

Wired: How a near-death experience inspired a blockbuster zombie game
TreeMan (DayZ) replied to SmashT's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
I thought I read somewhere that Rocket's injury had something to deal with a grenade or something? Didn't see anything mentioned about that in this article, nice read though. -
idea for more realism meats. idea for SA
TreeMan (DayZ) replied to wild_man's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
That actually makes sense. Maybe different parts of animals would give more health that others? And you could take a pig's head and wear it. Who wouldn't run from a pig headed person running at you with a hatchet screaming with a satanic voice? -
Sounds good. Also I saw this idea on the forums a few months back about taking parts from vehicles like you can put them in.

Epic Bandit Killing (Video)
TreeMan (DayZ) replied to Damsel In Distress's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
Good video, really enjoyed watching. The only bad thing is that you left some kills really unconfirmed for the viewers, just taking a shot and then moving on to another kill before the victim hits the ground. But anyway, beans are yours. -
The black guy always dies first in zombie apocalypses.
TreeMan (DayZ) replied to khaenz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Did you just read the title but not the actual post and went straight to replying? I bet you did. He told a story about what happened to him and his friends in DayZ, so it has something to do with it. -
Well, first of all good to see that he's back. But the suggestion he made is actually not that bad. Not sure about actually adding a wheelchair, and I don't know if anything like these is going to be in the standalone, but maybe there would be(crafted?) stretchers, that two people could carry to move someone wounded (broken legs, unconscious).

i find one DMR, what im doing next???
TreeMan (DayZ) replied to wild_man's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've actually been thinking the same. His English is indeed not that good yet, but clear and understandable. It's like more relaxed English. I like reading it, too. -
As some people have said, zombies or animals ripping bodies apart, that adds another suggestion: all types of scavengers like vultures, small animals like rats and minks. And as standalone will have more animals of what I've heard, wolves and bears could be attracted to bodies. You don't want to go near a body which has a pack of wolves or a bear rolling around it. Also the scavenger birds would be flying in circles around bodies, so other people could navigate to bodies.

TreeMan (DayZ) replied to wild_man's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The best thing you can do with a DMR is to sit in a bush near a highly populated area and shoot everyone you see in the legs, if they have morphine and heal, break their legs again. And If you like to live dangerously, you can go run around them and scream some random stuff to your mic while they are down. -
I've been trying to change my password a few times now, but it won't work for me. Today when I tried logging in (password remembered, no typos) it said "incorrect password", so I immediately got the automatic new password you can get by pressing forgot password. Then I tried to change it manually again to something I can actually remember myself, at first it said "security key invalid" or something, so I made the password longer. Lots of letters and numbers so it will surely be long enough, but now I encountered the same problem as earlier, "wrong current password". Straight copy-pasted from the email I got and which I just logged in with. Really annoying because now I have to go to my email every time when logging in on the forums.

Yeah, stuff like that would be cool. Then say just natural random events, trees falling and blocking the road, rocks falling from hills, maybe small floods that would slow your walking a bit, lightning that would cause forest fires and burn smaller houses (would attract zombies). Then those not so natural events, if we are going dramatic here then like streets collapsing, maybe buildings too.. I can't think of much more right now. Maybe later.

Get a pair of sea turtles and strap them to your feet.

Disagreement between a friend
TreeMan (DayZ) replied to Cap'n (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I imagine your face looking like your avatars when he said "awful looking game". ArmA II sure does look good. It's like a better version of Tom Clancy's better looking games, with less limitations. -
This would probably end up in Rick Astley and Nyan cat in all stations. Still not a bad idea. Maybe the radio stations would be destroyable with satchel charges/helicopter kamikazes etc. and this would start huge wars between survivors and radio tower trolls. Awesome.
