    No anger, just misunderstanding (maybe a slight trolling, sorry). I do see what you're trying to do with your server (now), I read some topics you started about your server before and I'm impressed with the build and effort you've put into it (kudos). Anyway, it wasn't my intention to derail the thread and like you said people can play wherever they like.

    Obviously your server is about what "YOU" want then (typical dayz community attitude), so good for you buddy. I actually listen to my players and the majority of them like the new set up, cheesy or not, that's not for you or me to decide on their behalf. Your server appears to be 2 players , while mine maxes out at 42 players every day (averaging 16-25 during low period) UK352 ;)

    I'm pretty confused by this as well. My server seems to be working fine, minus the various bugs that have already been mentioned on this thread. But I'm concerned that the mission file is so small, that something must obviously be missing? We've been hacked dozens of times in the past day alone since this update, so not sure what antihacks you've put in there, but they aren't working on my server :P

    So now people will just continue to suicide until they get their desired spawn point anyway. We've add the spawn selection and noticed a massive improvement and less dead bodies along the coast ;)

    Players keep getting kicked for public variable restrictions. Different numbers each time. One player in particular gets it every time he passes out.

    We're running an official hive server and after the update my players don't get gender selection screen or the option to choose which area to spawn in. I followed the link for the map generator and chose the options. Is there anything else I might have missed? Update: I downloaded the mission file again the area selection page works, but I'm still not getting the gender selection ..

  14. Thinking of starting Unit487 back up again.. Will need donations to help with the upkeep and renting.. As I've not heard anything since Danny took it over, and the last thing i did hear on the grapevine was that nothing works anymore, along with the number of requests I get from the old regulars.. I'm game if you guys are? Probably will take a couple of months to rewrite the scripts etc for the latest release, but we'll get there ;) Lee
  15. It was all my hard work, 3 months of solid script hacking, researching, hair pulling and a few tears. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much and I'm terribly sorry that it's gone, Other stuff has taken over in my real world and the Summer is now as well , so I have no time for staying indoors :P Have a great Summer :)

That took me over 3 months to get just right, if you can get it all back in under a couple of weeks then my hat goes off to you. rMod might make some script impossible to use, which was a huge reason for me never considering rMod before. So what happened ? The decision to wipe the database and clear the scripts doesn't make sense to me, based on your reason above. If you had an issue with too many weapons in vehicles, then you could have just deleted the vehicles and started a fresh map keeping all the user details in-tact and the scripts too. You could even have enabled rMod as it's just a mod anyway, but like I said you might have to edit a few scripts to work specifically with it. I hope you didn't get this advice straight from Tim at DayzPriv , because I'm pissed at him if he caused all this, he should know better.. Anyway, that is shocking news and I hope you succeed in getting it all back up again.. NOTE: To the few people who emailed me directly on here complaining about stuff (only just saw your comments today), please note that I don't run the server any more. Your comments have been deleted and I'll not be replying, sorry...

Note to the new owner (CONNOR): The provider at dayzpriv.com will insist the issues with any lag etc are due to the custom scripts, he will advise you to revert back to a default install if you want to get rid of the lag etc. This is bullshit, it worked perfectly fine on the other servers and works most of the time on this server, simply push him until he looks into the issues. The cpanel is buggy as hell, so be careful, it doesn't work properly and saving changes to the config has ALWAYS broken it for me, yet they'll insist you did something wrong. If you let him reset the mission files, you'll lose all the custom scripts i.e AI's, autorefuel, etc.. Remember, I'm stepping down so I don't have to deal with this bullshit anymore and also so I don't have to be editing scripts everytime dayz updates the core code. So you're on your own with this one, I'll do what I can in the background for you, but my time is limited now and you could be waiting days for my updates. Hope you understand. Again, good luck and thank you.
  19. Good news. One of our admins has agreed to take the server off my hands and keep it running. The server is back online minus the safe bases, as those were the difficult part and I doubt there's anybody on the team able to create them or keep them updated. The admin safe base is still enable as I hope to remain onboard as an acting admin, popping in from time to time and getting to use my blackhawk :P .. If the new owner would allow this of course, otherwise I'll take care of that before I go as well. There's still some changes to be made to the scripts so that the new owner can take over properly. Bomo aka MusicOn will still be staying on as second in command and the other admins I presume will still keep their admin status.   20. Hey Aeregon, it's been a tough decision to make for me and I'm feeling very down about it, but it had to be done as it wasn't good for my health (no joking around). If any of you want to continue running the server on your own, I'll gladly speak to the provider and see if they can transfer the account into your name, it's $25 per month and it still has 1 month left in the donations pot. I can't give it my time anymore though, so if nobody is willing to take it over then again I'm sorry and I hope you find a good server to call home again. :(
  21. After 6 months of running my own server, moving from one server provider to another (for whatever reason), I've finally decided this game sucks ass and I'm done with it. This is yet another great product that has been destroyed by greedy businesses offering substandard dayz servers. If its not the lag issues then its the poor customer services and if its not the poor customer service its the f'ing Battleye issues and those script kiddies, not to mention the development teams decisions to take stuff out or add in things that some of us would like to have the choice of, EVERY single one of my regulars (30+) all said they wanted the in-game scoreboard back, but sorry kids because the development team know better... Back to server providers... HFBServer, Dayz.st and dayzpriv.com are all offering the exact same service but with so many completely different features that either don't work properly or are only supported if you don't use custom mission files. Each company willing to take your cash but unwilling to accept the lag issues and broken cpanel features are their problem. If you're thinking of running your own server, DONT! I promise that after the first few months you'll wish you'd stuck to playing on other peoples servers, because not even the benefit of having access to the admin map, custom loadouts, or being god (if that's your thing) will make up for the sheer bullshit and headaches these companies will give you. Save your money, spend it on the standalone instead. I for one wont be buying the standalone or even touching this game again, thanks to those 3 companies mentioned above. No big loss though, but wonder how many more people have felt the same way, just not said anything. The community is bullshit anyway, making changes to the core code that THEY think we want , without giving us the choice. Arrogant obnoxious development community, goes with the territory ;)
  22. We are running a special two day event starting this Saturday from 6pm until 9pm and again on Sunday from 6pm until 9pm. Everyone is welcome, come along for the prizes or just have fun rescuing the hostages. Your mission, if you choose to accept it. Is to locate and rescue the hostages being held captive at the Cherno Hotel by the infamous Unit487 "Terrorist" Group*. To complete the mission you must neutralise the terrorist group, rescue the hostages and escort them safely to the south docks where a boat will be waiting to take them and yourself to safety. You will receive your prize when the hostages are safely returned to their town. Once a terrorist is killed, they cannot rejoin the event (so take your time, but watch out for rival bounty hunters) All players will spawn with a decent loadout just for the event and the fog will be increased slightly to prevent snipers from owning the game ;) Other than that, the rules are simple: NO cheating, No hacking and No griefing the event. Permanent bans will be issued to anyone who breaks either of those rules. My server is white listed, so you'll need to get your GUID and in-game name to me before Friday evening at the latest, or you might not get on during the weekend. It depends how busy I am inbetween running the event and taking care of external business matters.
