So I decided to do some research on the whole admin abuse and reporting process. I have a public hive server on DayZ and was tired of admin abusers giving all admins a bad name. After finding a server on the DayZ Steam Discussion forums that someone reported for being kicked, I quickly remote searched the IP/port and joined.. Kicked before even getting past the spawn timer. I created an email and YouTube account specifically for the reporting of the server. Here are the results: Steam Report: http://i.imgur.com/00YwD1Q.png First report: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dzcp4d2gkK4 http://i.imgur.com/Fv3sVJB.png Second Report(different server name): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wBxWx3jtOo http://i.imgur.com/Iptpy1U.png It's almost as if their reply is scripted, right? This server is still online today.. Note: This isn't a bash on a particular server, but to bring attention that at least one Game Server Provider isn't doing their job of enforcing the admin TOS.

Your post isn't even relevant to this discussion. You're talking about private servers with a private hive. Gear cannot carry over from a private server to another server. If I wanted to be restricted to a single server with specific rules I would do just that and join a private server, but I don't. I enjoy the ability to know that my character is free to any server I choose on the public hive and that it's not tied to the fate of a single server. If you could even read, you'd understand I joined this specific server because it was reported and to test the reporting process. Besides, what's the benefit of server hopping now? Mil loot is broken in .58. Play much, bro?

Well these asshats, as you call them, can easily gear up care free on their servers to join other public servers. I'm assuming you have some understanding of how the character persistence works from server to server on a public hive, yes? In regards to you just accusing the majority just looking for something to whine about; it's in alpha and we are testers. It's our job to point out the flaws. Seeing someone with nearly 2k posts, I'd think you would know that.

While I do understand what you're saying about the whole "1 guy complaint" thing, I also provided proof of two separate occasions on different days. Most people come across a server that they are kicked from and do not report it. The fact that it takes this much effort to just be that "1 guy" makes it too much of a hassle in my opinion. It would be different if I was making a complaint with no proof at all.

How exactly does this help me? Did you even read the post? I'm bringing attention to the player base that you CAN be kicked from a server and nothing will be done about it. I own a server, I'm pretty familiar with the server hosting rules and reporting page.

There are a few up in Novo up in the NE part of the map. Spotted 3 of them. Felt good to actually be chased :D -

There are in fact some zombies on .58. The quantity isn't too great... but the zombie survival experience still exists! -
Winchesters spawn in civilian cars mostly. My buddies and I have found 3 or 4 this patch (0.58). Hunting scopes are in deer stands of course.

Sounds like your game is boned..

Is anyone else having issues with the hive?
deevote replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
Ya, there's something definitely up. Just swapped to an alternate favorited server(I know are both public and never had hive issues) and am now back to a character I had a few hours ago.. weird. DayZ FL to a DayZ GA server -

Yes, me too. Every server I join says something about the hive can't load my character and have been set with a default character blah blah blah.. -
What you just said isn't even relevant to this discussion. You're comparing someone that has control of their situational awareness(by turning around) to someone that, no matter what view they use or where they are looking, has the possibility of being seen by someone that isn't even possible to be seen. It must be a hard concept to grasp, but you have to keep an open mind to understand this.

Wrong. 1st person vs 3rd person, one player has advantage. 3rd person vs 3rd person, one player has advantage. Just because you can use third person doesn't mean you can see any player that is using it too.

Try joining various servers. Some aren't completely synced with the hive and will respawn your character.

Battleye is now on experimental servers.

$30 a day(which will be the average time hacking bans you) for a video game should be expensive to anyone, no matter how much money you have. It's sad. -

Exactly. BUT in the mod, they would just use programs that stole CD keys from people looking on youtube for "free" hacks. Since they can't steal peoples Steam accounts from the registry like on the mod, people will have to deal out $30(which will get more expensive as development progresses) every time they get banned... So really, yes they could just make a new steam account, but most people don't have 30 dollars a day to spend on a video game.. -
Not to be one of those guys... but SEARCH. Take breaks when running long distances. 3-5 seconds every few hundred meters.

Something to do with the hive inconsistency. In over 100 hours played I have yet to have a characted wiped. Be sure to stick with servers that you know are up to date with the hive.

VAC can only detect certain types of cheats(usually memory based). BattleEye is much better in terms of Arma engine as it's mostly scripts. Combined I believe hackers will not even want to try and cheat as they can't just buy a new cd key. They must make a whole new steam ID and repurchase the game. -

There is no more CD keys. Once VAC banned he will have to use an alternate steam ID and purchase the alpha again. -

That is something you need to take up with Steam.. -

Well then you can't beat third person with third person is what I'm getting at. That question was directed towards someone that disagrees with me and you lol.. A thought for those that believe third person is a level playing field: Player 1 uses third person Player 2 uses third person Player 1 is around a corner Player 2 is in an open field Player 1 sees player 2 and pokes out to shoot, missing shot, moves around bulding and third person peeks around next corner (rinse, repeat) Player 2 cannot see player 1 no matter what angle he puts the camera and is forced to guess where he will pop out next while being exposed visually the whole time YOU CAN'T BEAT third with third. This is not the stance from someone that just wants PVP. it's just the nature of DayZ.
